The Last Call To Evangelism!

“I, YESHUA, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the Messianic communities. I Am the Root and Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star. The SPIRIT and the Bride say, ‘Come!’ Let anyone who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let anyone who is thirsty come – let anyone who wishes, take the Water of Life free of charge.” Revelation 22:16-17 CJB

I have always heard this passage taught as a prayer for CHRIST to return and establish His thousand year reign in Jerusalem to be followed by His eternal reign over the New Heavens and earth.

Today as I read this passage I realized it is CHRIST’s last call to Believers to evangelize the world with the Gospel of GOD’s salvation and eternal love. If the cannon of scripture is complete and The Revelation of JESUS CHRIST is the last book (given to us 60-65 years after His ascension); then this is JESUS’ last reminder to the Church of the commission He gave us after His resurrection and before His ascension.

JESUS’ last words to the Church are, “The One who is testifying to these things says, ‘Yes, I Am coming soon!’” Revelation 22:20a CJB

These words are a reminder to us that JESUS taught us to hold onto our trust (faith) in Him and to be doing the works of His Kingdom in the earth until He returns. We do not know when He will return and while He told us to know the times and seasons; He also told us not to become indifferent or lazy or prideful or self-important. We are to remain as He was, a humble, obedient, servant.
