The Curse of Eli!

 

“A man of God came to ‘Eli and told him, ‘Here is what ADONAI says: “Didn’t I reveal Myself to your ancestor’s clan when they were in Egypt, serving as slaves in Pharaoh’s household? Didn’t I choose him out of all the tribes of Isra’el to be My cohen, go up to My altar, burn incense and wear a ritual vest in My Presence? Didn’t I assign to your ancestor’s clan all the offerings of the people of Isra’el made by fire? So why are you showing such disrespect for My sacrifices and offerings, which I ordered to be made at My dwelling? Why do you show more honor to your sons than to Me, making yourselves fat with the choicest parts of all the offerings of Isra’el My people?” Therefore The GOD of Isra’el says, “I did indeed say that your family and your father’s family would walk in My Presence forever.” But now ADONAI says, “Forget It! I respect those who respect Me, but those who despise Me will meet with contempt.”’” 1 Samuel 2:27-30 CJB Study the whole chapter.

 

GOD’s judgment was against Eli and his sons for their disrespect of GOD, the people, their sacrifices and offerings to GOD. There are plenty of people in The Church today who disrespect GOD, the people and their offerings. Not just leaders, we are all called to be priests. “’Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My Voice and keep My Covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the Words which you shall speak to the children of Israel,” Exodus 19:5-6 NKJV Study the whole chapter “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of GOD, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.’” 1 Peter 2:9-10 NKJV Study the whole chapter.

 

In Exodus GOD was speaking to Moses to tell Israel that He called them all to be priests to do His Will. Peter is saying the same thing to The Church, all Believers are priests to do His Will! When we disrespect GOD, His people and their offerings (not just financial) in any way we are subject to the curse of GOD’s contempt!

 

Repent! Let GOD show you where you have disrespected Him, His people and their offerings. Receive His forgiveness through JESUS.

Commentary on A Word to America (10/21/2021)

 

First I believe both of these chapters speak to America about our current spiritual, judicial and economic warfare. As a nation we have left GOD’s call for us to be light and salt to the nations by not just being an example of a Godly nation but by proclaiming liberty to all humanity through the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST.

 

While Isaiah’s Word was to Israel it certainly applies to America, there are many parallels between Israel and America: both were people who were not a nation and had no government; both were pretty much doing what they wanted until GOD put them in a place of trial and tribulation. For Israel it was Egypt and 400 years of slavery. For America it was the British Empire gradually enslaving the colonies. Both were brought out of slavery through dramatic and violent processes that caused the peoples to become united in desire and vision to serve GOD. Both received a land flowing with milk and honey and many trials. Both have had their shining moments and dark days. Both have the Call of GOD to bring His Will to the earth as it is in Heaven! Both are currently farther from GOD then ever; yet GOD’s Will is being done in all the nations of the earth for the days in which we live.

 

Isaiah 24:6 “Therefore a curse is devouring the land, and its inhabitants are punished for their guilt. It is why those living there waste away, and the people left are few.” The poor waste away because of the government’s taxation and inflation that make everything more expensive – this effects the poor the most, the rich elites do not care they have plenty of money. Many think that America is crowded, yet some want us to have open borders so that anyone can just enter in and receive government aid. The fact is one reason the elite need a lot of foreigners is because we have killed so many of our own. According to statista.com there were approximately 41,271,000 legal abortions in America between 1973 (1974 had no count) and 2018.

 

Isaiah 24:10-12 “The city of chaos is shattered, every house closed up; no one can enter. In the streets they are crying over the wine; all joy has faded; cheer has left the land. In the city, only desolation, its gates are battered beyond repair.” Many cities in the US have been badly damaged by riots and improper government decisions (some of which go back decades). It also speaks of the government lockdowns to protect us from Covid-19. They have not helped they have not hindered the spread of Covid, they have actually made people more physically and emotionally sick and caused even more poverty by causing people not to be able to work.

 

Isaiah 24:13-16a “Around the earth, among the peoples. It will be as when beating an olive tree, as when gleaning the grapes at the end of the harvest. They lift their voices, singing for joy, shouting from the west to honor ADONAI. So in the east, honor ADONAI; in the coastlands, honor the Name of ADONAI, The GOD if Isra’el (America).” As bad as it gets there will always be those who worship GOD!

 

Isaiah 24:16b “But, I say, I’m wasting away, I am wasting away! Woe to me! Traitors betray! Oh, how the traitors betray and betray!” Our nation is full of traitors: in every level of government; federal, state, county, city, municipal and territorial. In our financial, social, medias, entertainment, education, industry, communication, in every area possible are those who are traitors to America and GOD’s call for America. They want a socialist government that will be part of a global government! Many are just fooled by the lies and promises, but the leaders are the elite – the rich who want to be in control of every aspect of life in America and the world.

 

Isaiah 24:18-20 “He who flees at the sound of terror will fall into the pit. He who climbs up out of the pit will be caught in the trap. For the windows above have been opened, and the earth’s foundations shake. The earth cracks and breaks open, the earth crumbles to pieces, the earth trembles and totters. The earth staggers to and fro like a drunk, sways back and forth like a watchman’s shelter; it transgression weights heavy upon it; it will fall and not rise again.”  The Scriptures are clear that everything that can be shaken will be shaken by GOD as He tests the hearts of humanity. “Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying: ‘I will shake heaven and earth. I will overthrow the throne of the kingdoms; I will destroy the strength of the Gentile kingdoms. I will overthrow the chariots and those who ride in them; the horses and their riders shall come down, everyone by the sword of his brother.’” Haggai 2:21-22 CJB “But immediately following the trouble of those times, the sun will grow dark, the moon will stop shining, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers in heaven will be shaken.” Matthew 24:29 CJB

 

Isaiah 24:21-22 “When That Day comes, ADONAI will punish the armies of the high heaven on high, and the kings of the earth here on earth. They will be assembled like prisoners in a dungeon and shut up in prison to be punished many years.” “Therefore GOD raised Him to the Highest Place and gave Him The Name above every name; that in honor of The Name of YESHUA, every knee will bow – in Heaven, on the earth and under the earth – and every tongue will acknowledge that YESHUA The MESSIAH is ADONAI – to the Glory of GOD The Father.” Philippians 2:9-10 CJB

 

Isaiah 24:23 “Then the moon will be confused and the sun ashamed, for ADONAI-Tzva’ot will rule on Mount Tziyon and in Yerushalayim.” “Then I saw a new Heaven and a new earth, for the old Heaven and the old earth had passed away, and the sea was no longer there. Also I saw the Holy City, New Yerushalayim, coming down out of Heaven from GOD…I saw no Temple in the City, for ADONAI, GOD of Heaven’s Armies, is its Temple, as is The LAMB. The City has no need for the sun or the moon to shine on it, because GOD’s Sh’khinah gives it light, and its Lamp is The LAMB….” Revelation 21 CJB

 

Romans was written to the Believers in the city of Rome and the entire Empire. It was written to the Hebrew and Gentile Believers as One Body. Rome was a polytheistic society and The Hebrews were monotheistic; now the Christians (Jews and Gentiles) were learning to worship the One True GOD JEHOVAH and His Son JESUS led by Their Holy SPIRIT. America stared as a land dedicated to JEHOVAH GOD first but many came to find freedom to worship GOD according to their religion. America is a polytheistic society – but there is only One True GOD: JEHOVAH!

 

Romans 2:1 “Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, passing judgment; for when you judge someone else, you are passing judgment against yourself; since you who are judging do the same things he does.” JESUS said, “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” Matthew 7:1-2 NKJV

 

Romans 2:8-9 “But to those who are self-seeking, who disobey the Truth and obey evil, He will pay back wrath and anger. Yes, he will pay back misery and anguish to every human being who does evil, to the Jew first, then to the Gentile;” “The LORD has made all for Himself, yes, even the wicked for The Day of Doom. Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to The LORD; though they join forces, none will go unpunished.” Proverbs 16:4-5 NKJV “For we have spent enough of our past lifetimes in doing the will of the Gentiles–when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. In regard to these, they think, it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipations, speaking evil of you. They will give an account to Him Who is ready to judge the living and the dead.” 1 Peter 4:3-5

 

Romans 2: 13-16 “For it is not merely the hearers of Torah whom GOD considers righteous; rather, it is the doers of what Torah says who will be made righteous in GOD’s sight.

For whenever Gentiles, who have no Torah, do naturally what The Torah requires, then these, even though they don’t have Torah, for themselves are Torah!

For their lives show that the conduct The Torah dictates is written in their hearts.

Their consciences also bear witness to this, for their conflicting thoughts sometimes accuse them and sometimes defend them on a day when GOD passes judgment on people’s inmost secrets. (According to The Good News as I proclaim it, He does this through the Messiah Yeshua.” The Torah is the Old Testament Law as given by Moses to the Jews in the wilderness; it is representative of the whole Bible; for The Torah had the blessings, the curses and the how to live. “For a person who keeps the whole Torah, yet stumbles at one point, has become guilty of breaking them all. For The One Who said, ‘Don’t commit adultery’, also said, ‘Don’t murder.’ Now, if you don’t commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of The Torah.” James 2:10-11 CJB “So rid yourselves of all vulgarity and obvious evil, and receive meekly The Word implanted in you that can save your lives. Don’t deceive yourselves by only hearing what The Word says, but do it!” James 1:21-24

 

Romans 2:23-24 “You who take such pride in Torah, do you, by disobeying Torah, dishonor GOD? – as it says in The Tanakh (The Old Testament), ‘For it is because of you that GOD’s Name is blasphemed by the Gentiles.’” “I scattered them among the nations and dispersed them throughout the countries; I judged them in keeping with their manner of life and actions. When they came to the nations they were going to, they profaned My Holy Name; so that people said of them, ‘These are ADONAI’s people, who have been exiled from His land.’ But I Am concerned about My Holy Name, which the house of Israel is profaning among the nations where they have gone.” Ezekiel 36:19-21 CJB Does the Church in American not do the same? We teach social justice as if it were a Bible Doctrine – and it is not! (John 17:14-19) We teach prosperity when JESUS taught us to sell all that we have and give it to the poor! (Luke 18:18-23) We teach live in peace and harmony with each other and the world and JESUS taught that we will be hated and persecuted for believing in Him and living for Him! (Matthew 5:11-12) We teach Grace as a way of life when the Bible teaches it as a Gift from GOD for a specific situation! (2 Corinthians 8:9, 12:8-9) We teach that we will be rescued from the Great Tribulation by the rapture when the Bible teaches Christians will go through the Great Tribulation! (1 Corinthians 15:50-52; Revelation 11:15, 20:4-5 the rapture and the First Resurrection are the same event.)

 

Romans 2:28-29 “For the real Jew is not merely Jewish outwardly: true circumcision is not only external and physical. On the contrary, the real Jew is one inwardly; and true circumcision is of the heart, spiritual not literal; so that his praise comes not from other people but from GOD.” “How Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see GOD.” Matthew 5:8 CJB “For where your wealth is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21 CJB “For out of the heart come wicked thoughts, murder, adultery, and other kinds of sexual immorality, theft, lies, slanders.” Matthew 15:19 CJB “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:38 NKJV It’s all about our heart, have we surrendered it to JESUS to do the works of GOD’s Kingdom in the earth as it is in Heaven?

“Look! ADONAI (The LORD GOD) is stripping and destroying the land, turning it upside down and scattering its inhabitants – cohen (priest) and commoner, slave and master, maid and mistress, buyer and seller, lender and borrower, creditor and debtor.

The land will be completely stripped, completely plundered, for ADONAI has spoken This Word.

The land fades and withers, the world wilts and withers, the exalted of the land languish.

The land lies defiled under its inhabitants; because they have transgressed The Teachings, changed The Law and broken The Everlasting Covenant.

Therefore a curse is devouring the land, and its inhabitants are punished for their guilt.

It is why those living there waste away, and the people left are few.

The new wine fails, the vines wilt, all the revelers sigh, the happy sound of tambourines ceases, the shouts of merrymakers are stilled, the joy of the lyre ends.

They no longer sing as they drink their wine, strong liquor tastes bitter to those drinking it.

From the farthest part of the earth we have heard them sing, ‘Glory to The Righteous ONE!’

Terror, pit and trap are upon you, you who are living on earth.

Then the moon will be confused and the sun ashamed, for ADONAI-Tzva’ot (The LORD of Heavens Army) will rule on Mount Tziyon (Zion) and in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), with His Glory manifest to the rulers of His people.” Isaiah 24 CJB

 

“Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, passing judgment; for when you judge someone else, you are passing judgment against yourself; since you who are judging do the same things he does.

We know that GOD’s Judgment lands impartially on those who do such things; do you think that you, a mere man passing judgment on others who do such things, yet doing them yourself, will escape the judgment of GOD?

Or perhaps you despise the Riches of His Kindness, Forbearance and Patience; because you don’t realize that GOD’s Kindness is intended to lead you to turn from your sins.

But by your stubbornness, by your unrepentant heart, you are storing up anger for yourself on the Day of Anger, when GOD’s Righteous Judgment will be revealed; for He will pay back each one according to his deeds.

To those who seek glory, honor and immortality by perseverance in doing good, He will pay back Eternal Life.

But to those who are self-seeking, who disobey the Truth and obey evil, He will pay back wrath and anger.

 

Yes, He will pay back misery and anguish to every human being who does evil, to the Jew first , then to the Gentile; but glory and honor and shalom (peace) to everyone who keeps doing what is good, to the Jew first, then to the Gentile.

For GOD does not show favoritism.

All who have sinned outside the framework of Torah (The Word of GOD - The Law) will die outside the framework of Torah; and all who have sinned within the framework of Torah will be judged by Torah.

For it is not merely the hearers of Torah whom GOD considers righteous; rather, it is the doers of what Torah says who will be made righteous in GOD’s sight.

For whenever Gentiles, who have no Torah, do naturally what The Torah requires, then these, even though they don’t have Torah, for themselves are Torah!

But if you call yourself a Jew and rest on Torah and boast about GOD and know His Will and give your approval to what is right, because you have been instructed from the Torah; and you have persuaded yourself that you are a guide to the blind, a light in the darkness, an instructor for the spiritually unaware and a teacher of children, since in The Torah you have the embodiment of Knowledge and Truth; then, you who teach others, don’t you teach yourself?

Preaching, ‘Thou shall not steal,’ do you steal?

Saying, ‘Thou shall not commit adultery,’ do you commit adultery?

Detesting idols, do you commit idolatrous acts?

You who take such pride in Torah, do you, by disobeying Torah, dishonor GOD? – as it says in The Tanakh (Rest of The Old Testament), ‘For it is because of you that GOD’s Name is blasphemed by the Gentiles.’

For circumcision is indeed of value if you do what Torah says.

But if you are a transgressor of Torah, your circumcision has become Uncircumcision!

Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the Righteous requirements of Torah, won’t his Uncircumcision be counted as circumcision?

Indeed, the man who is physically uncircumcised but obeys The Torah will stand as a judgment on you who have a b’rit-milah (circumcision) and have Torah written out but violate it!

“I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat of the vineyards and the olive groves which you did not plant. Now therefore, Fear The LORD, serve Him in Sincerity and in Truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve The LORD! And if it seems evil to you to serve The LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But for me and my house, we will serve The LORD!” NKJV

 

The secret and the power of serving GOD is our will. It cannot be that we will do some of what GOD says and shows us, it is all or nothing; Oswald Chambers said, “When GOD gives us a vision of Truth it is never a question of what He will do, but of what we will do. We must exercise our will. We must will to Obey.” JESUS said, “Do not think that I came to destroy The Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to Fulfill!  For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from The Law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these Commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in The Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in The Kingdom of Heaven. For I say that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter The Kingdom of -Heaven.” Matthew 5:17-20

 

“But, he who looks into the Perfect Law of Liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of The Work, this one will be Blessed in what he does.” James 1:25 NKJV

Study to Show Yourself Approved!

 

I recently heard a popular TV minister quote Revelation 1:1 to make a valid point. The thing that bothered me was that he did not quote the complete verse, only the first five words, because that was the point of his message. The issue to me is not his point, which I agree with but that by only quoting the part of the verse he only taught half of the message of the verse and left off the part which did not agree with his point.

 

 Revelation 1:1 (first five words) “The revelation of JESUS CHRIST!” NKJV

Revelation 1:1 (complete) “The revelation of JESUS CHRIST, which GOD gave Him to show His servants–things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,” NKJV

Revelation 1:1-3 (GOD’s complete statement) “The revelation of JESUS CHRIST, which GOD gave Him to show His servants–things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, who bore witness to the Word of GOD, and to the testimony of JESUS CHRIST, to all things that he saw. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophesy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” NKJV

 

I found it the same in KJV, MEV, ESV and CJB. My problem is with anyone (and I did it in the past) who quotes only a portion of scripture or scriptures to support their point. I believe (and I now always try to make sure that I quote only the full scripture or scriptures) that it is wrong to  use only a part of a scripture to make your point.

 

The Pastor’s message title was, “JESUS in Revelation”, his point was that the first five words of revelation make that point. His theme was, “If you read Revelation and do not see JESUS then you missed the point.” And I agree! His sub-title was “Revelation is about JESUS not the End Times.” Every book of The Bible is about JESUS (even the ones removed by King James and left out of our modern versions).

 

Revelation is about JESUS, JESUS is in every chapter of Revelation, not just allegorically but actually. But, Revelation is also about “…things which must shortly take place…” Peter reminds us, “But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same Word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition (destruction) of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with The LORD one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2 Peter 3:7-8 (emphasis added) study the whole chapter. A short time to GOD is not the same as a short time to humans. GOD is not affected by time as we are since we are created within time by GOD and time exists within GOD since He created it.

 

This is why I, now always tell people to read The Bible for yourself, even better, study The Bible for yourself, so that you can “Be diligent to present yourself approved to GOD, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing The Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (emphasis added) study all of chapters 2 and 3. Not to be critical of others but so you know The Truth when you hear it and know what is not true when you hear it.

 

This is the point of this essay; you are responsible before GOD to know The Truth and to live according to The Truth and you will only know The Truth if, “Then JESUS said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know The Truth, and The Truth shall make you free’” John 8:31-32

Recently I heard Pastor Robert Morris say, “If you read Revelation and didn’t see JESUS you missed it.” The fact is that JESUS is in all of Revelation but we usually read looking for the end-times stuff. The Book of Revelation starts before the beginning of creation and goes way past the end. We look at Revelation as being about a specific period of time in human history that is yet to happen. But like the rest of the Bible it is not chronological, it does not follow a beginning to end format of information. The fact is that the books of The Bible were not written to be a chronological history of events (with the exception of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles). Each book was written for a specific purpose with a specific message that we are usually trying to fit together historically for our own understanding. But that is not how GOD has chosen to reveal Himself. Every Book of The Bible is about JESUS and all the significance we find in The Bible should be JESUS CHRIST. Everything else is excess information. If we are not seeing and therefore preaching JESUS in every passage of the Scriptures then we are the goats who don’t know it; the five virgins who are not prepared or those in Matthew 7:21-23 who think they are doing GOD’s will but are lawless! in 2011 Matthew 7:21-23 scared me from my 20 years of  lawlessness and 14 years of rebellion against GOD.

 

JESUS was clear, too serve Him we must abide in Him, to abide in Him we must live our life for Him, to live our life for Him we must lay down our will, our desire and do His (take up our cross daily and follow Him)! This is how JESUS lived His life in the flesh and how we must live our life in the flesh. Thankfully He gave us the Gift of His SPIRIT and His Word!

 

Everything we learn from The Bible should be based on JESUS’ teachings in the Gospels; everything in the Old Testament points to JESUS' birth, life, death and resurrection. JESUS told us everything we need to know to live in obedience to The Father. The writings of the Apostles are reaffirmations of what He taught to them.
