To Abide In JESUS

To Abide In JESUS

“Brethren, let every man, wherein he is Called, therein abide with GOD.” 1 Corinthians 7:24

“We all have to find our niche in life. In order to do this we must companion with JESUS; we must know Him as more than a personal Savior.” Oswald Chambers

To abide with GOD as JESUS abided with GOD we must more than know Him as Redeemer: “For GOD so Loved the world that He Gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have Everlasting Life. For GOD did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be Saved.” John 3:16-17

Why? “for all have sinned and fall short of The Glory of GOD,” Romans 3:23

Because, “For the wages of sin is death, but the Gift of GOD is Eternal Life in CHRIST JESUS our LORD.” Romans 6:23

We must know Him as Friend: “Greater Love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My Friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you Friends, for all things that I heard from My Father, I have made known to you.” John 15:13-15

Our best, life long relationships are with our friends and JESUS wants us to be His friend.

We must know The Truth (John 14:6, 16:13): “Then JESUS said to those Jews who believed in Him, ‘If you abide in My Word then you are My Disciples indeed. And you shall know the Truth and The Truth shall make you free.’” John 8:31-32

JESUS said, “…I am The Way, The Truth and The Life, no one comes to the Father, except through Me.” John 14:6

Jesus said about The HOLY SPIRIT, “However, when He, The SPIRIT of Truth, has come, He will guide you in all Truth; for He will not speak on His onw authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will tell you things to some. He will Glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that The Father has are Mine. Therefore I said He will take of mine and declare it to you.” John 1:13-15

We must seek Him: Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will wear, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow or reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value then they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if GOD so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you,  O you of little faith. Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first The Kingdom of GOD and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Does that mean that don’t pay attention to tomorrow, No! But we live today in GOD’s Will for today and trust GOD for His Will for tomorrow.

We must know Him as children (Mark 10:13-16): “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become Children of GOD, to those who believe in His Name; who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of GOD.” John 1:12-13

“Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But JESUS called them to Him and said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is The Kingdom of GOD. Assuredly I tell you, whoever does not receive The Kingdom of GOD as a little child he will by no means enter ii.” Luke 18:15-17

JESUS said that if anyone hurts children it would be better for them if a large stone was tied around their neck and they were thrown into the sea. Luke 17:1-2

Peter said, “Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the Pure Milk of The Word that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that The LORD is Gracious.” 1 Peter 2:1-3

John calls young Christians, little children, 1 John 2

We must obey Him: “A new Commandment I give to you, that you Love one another; as I have Loved you, that you also Love one another. By this all will know that you are My Disciples, if you have Love for one another.” John 13:34-35

“For I have come down from Heaven, not to do My Own Will, but the Will of Him Who sent Me.” John 6:38

“When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.’ And He was withdraw from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, saying, ‘Father, if it is Your Will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not My Will, but Yours be done.’” Luke 22:40-42

We must spend time with GOD (Mark 1:32-39): “Now in the morning, having risen a long time before daylight. He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He Prayed.” Mark 1:35

“Immediately JESUS made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to Pray, now when evening came He was alone there.” Matthew 14:22-23

“And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for The Promise of The Father, ‘which,’ He said, ‘you have heard from Me;’” Acts 1:4

We must witness to the lost about JESUS: “So JESUS said to them again. ‘Peace to you! As The Father has sent Me, I also send you.’ And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive The HOLY SPIRIT. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.’” John 20:21-23

“But you shall receive Power when The HOLY SPIRIT has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

So to abide in GOD we must abide in JESUS and to abide in JESUS:

We must be forgiven of our sins!

We must be His friend!

We must know the Truth!

We must seek Him!

We must know Him as children!

We must obey Him!

We must spend time with GOD!

We must tell people about Him!
