Believe - Behave - Become

Believe – Behave – Become

3 B’s Of Faith*

Believe: John 1:12-14, 3:16-17; Romans 10:8-18; Ephesians 2:4-10

Behave: 1 Corinthians 10:1-13; Galatians 5:16; 2 Timothy 2:14-26James 1:12-16

Become: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, 15:45-57; Galatians 5:16-26; Philippians 3:7-11

To Become you have to know who you are!

As A Born Again Believer in JESUS CHRIST you are: A Child of JEHOVAH GOD; A Temple of GOD where His HOLY SPIRIT Lives and Works! (John 1:12-14; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17)

As a Child of JEHOVAH GOD our Eternal Father we are called to be about the Family Business! What is The Family Business you ask? It is The Kingdom of Heaven on the earth! We are JEHOVAH GOD’s Servant Children fulfilling His Will and Plans by Obeying His Purpose!

JEHOVAH GOD’s Will is that all of His creation be redeemed back into His Rule (it was given to humanity with Adam and it was lost to the devil by Adam). (Genesis 1:26-28, 3:1-19; John 3:16-17; Romans 8:18-23)

JEHOVAH GOD’s Plan is that every Believer in JESUS CHRIST (JEHOVAH’s Only Begotten Son; Adam was made of the dust of the earth and every human being is his decedent); would Proclaim The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST, Baptize those who Believe and Disciple them into GOD’s Eternal Kingdom! (Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:14-18)

JEHOVAH GOD’s Purpose is that each and every Believer in JESUS CHIRST would Seek His Eternal Kingdom and His Righteousness, to find Their GOD Given Appointment in the earth, to be trained by His SPIRIT and His Word; to learn Self-sacrifice and Obedience!

As Children Servants (Romans 8:12-17) we are Called to Represent (be Ambassadors) for Our Heavenly Father’s Eternal Kingdom to the lost world! (Proverbs 13:17; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21; Ephesians 6:18-20) He Choses each one of us before we are born and writes out His Plan for our Life. (Psalms 139:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15) It is up to us to Seek Him (Isaiah 55:6; Jeremiah 29:11-14; 2 Chronicles 7:13-14; Matthew 6:33-34) and be taught by HIS HOLY SPIRIT what that Plan is (John 14:1518, 16:5-15; 1 Timothy 4:12-16; 2 Timothy 2:11-19); then go through the Training and Discipline to achieve Obedience! (Proverbs 1:20-33, Proverbs 2; John 5:1-14; Ephesians 5:1-7 James 1:2-8, 19-20)

It is only as Children that we can Learn and Obey (Matthew 18:1-5, 19:19:13-15), no matter our age when we Become a Believer we must become a child in Trust (Faith) and Obedience! How much we know and how much we do is not important if it is not The Father’s Will and  Purpose for our Life! (1 Samuel 15:22-23; Matthew 7:21-23; Romans 2:12-16; James1:21-27, 2:14-26)

Most Western Christians have Learned to be Spiritually Fat and Lazy! We are satisfied with having said a pray of Repentance, to go to Church regularly, pay tithes and live a moral life while achieving comfort and joy (happiness), the Good Life. But, everyone of us who claim to be a Christian has a particular Call and Purpose in JEHOVAH GOD’s Eternal Kingdom and the training ground is here in the earth. As The Scripture says, “The natural is first, then the spiritual.” (1 Corinthians 15:35-49)

*I Believe that this is currently the most important teaching I have done. Two days ago I started this teaching based on a statement I heard by Wintley Phipps on TBN about the three B’s of Christianity and how he had heard very little teaching on Becoming a Christian. So I sat down and wrote the Scriptures that went with the three B’s. today as I was praying about my family and Israel, the rest of this teaching is what Father GOD gave me.

“Seek First The Kingdom Of GOD and His Righteousness,” and Pray for GOD’s Purpose for our Life to be Revealed by His SPIRIT and His Word!

We have to read, study and meditate on The Bible, we have to be quiet and wait in His Presence, we have to Pray and Worship JEHOVAH GOD, our Heavenly Father and His Son JESUS CHIRST!

Proverbs Chapter 9

Proverbs Chapter 9

Chapter 9 is a continuation of Wisdom’s teaching in chapter 8.

:1-6 Wisdom has built her house*, she has hewn out her seven pillars**; she has slaughtered her meat, she has mixed her wine, she has also furnished her table. She has sent out her maidens, she cries out from the highest places of the city, “Whoever is simple let him turn in here!” As for him who lacks Understanding, she says to him, “Come eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed. For sake foolishness and Live and go in the way of  Understanding.

:7-9 He who corrects a scoffer (mocker) gets shame for himself and he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself. Do not correct a scoffer lest he hate you; (Matthew 7:6) rebuke a Wise man and he will love you. (Psalm 141:5) Give Instruction to a Wise man and he will be still Wiser; Teach a just man and he will increase in learning. (Matthew 13:10-17)

:10-12 The Fear of JEHOVAH is the beginning of Wisdom and the Knowledge of The Holy One  is Understanding. (Job 28:20-28) For by me your days will be multiplied and years of Life will be added to you. (Psalm 128) If you are Wise, you are wise for yourself and if you scoff, you will bear it alone. (Job 35:4-8; I am responsible for myself and my lifestyle!)

:13-18 A foolish woman is clamorous; she is simple and knows nothing. (Proverbs 30:20; Romans 16:17-18) For she sits at the door of her house, on a seat by the highest places of the city, to call to those who pass by; who go straight on their way; ‘Whoever is simple let him turn in here.’ And as for him who lacks Understanding she says to him, ‘Stolen water is sweet and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.’ (Proverbs 20:17) But he does not know that the dead are there that her guests are in the depths of hell.” (Romans 6:23; James 1:12-16)

* House: bayith = a house (the most often used in Scripture), court, dungeon, home, temple, palace, prison. It’s from bânâh = to build.

** In my Bible I wrote “The Church”. The cross reference in my NKJV is Matthew 16:17-20 – I recently published a teaching “The Keys Of The Kingdom” that speak on these Scriptures. Could the letters of Revelation 2-3 to the seven Churches in Asia (Modern Turkey) define the seven pillars?

An AI overview from Google:

Christian interpretations

  • Based on Ephesians 4:4-6: This interpretation, found in the New Testament, presents the following as pillars of the unified Christian faith:
    • One Body
    • One Spirit
    • One Hope
    • One Lord
    • One Faith
    • One Baptism
    • One God and Father
  • Based on Proverbs 9:1: Another interpretation lists the "seven pillars of wisdom" as:
    • Reverence of God
    • Instruction
    • Knowledge
    • Understanding
    • Discretion
    • Counsel
    • Reproof

Other religious and theological interpretations

  • Jewish tradition: Some Jewish teachings identify seven pillars of faith, or articles of faith, including:
    • Creation of the world
    • Freedom of the will
    • Divine providence
    • Divine origin of the Torah
    • Reward and punishment
    • The coming of the Redeemer
    • Resurrection

Proverbs Chapter 8 The Spirit Of Wisdom

Proverbs Chapter 8

The Spirit Of Wisdom

:1-11 Does not Wisdom cry out and Understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the hill, beside the way, where the paths meet. (Matthew 7:13-14) She cries out by the gates, at the entry to the city, at the entrance of the door; (this is the place where leaders would sit and talk of current events and the issues of the day) “To you O men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of men. O you simple (naive) ones, understand prudence,* and you fools,** be of an understanding heart (our inner being). Listen, for I will speak of excellent things, and from the opening of my lips will come right things; for my mouth will speak Truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; nothing crooked or perverse is in them. They are all plain to him who understands, and right to those who find Knowledge. Receive my Instruction and not silver and Knowledge rather than choice gold; for Wisdom is better than rubies and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her. (Job 28:20-28; Jeremiah 5:20-25; Psalm 19:7-14; Matthew 15:18-19; Ephesians 1:15-21; 1 Timothy 2:7; James 1:2-8, 3:13-18)

:12-21 “I Wisdom dwell together with Prudence and find out knowledge and Discretion. The Fear of JEHOVAH is to hate evil; (Proverbs 3:7-8; Isaih 11:1-3; Luke 12:4-5) pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate. Counsel is mine and sound Wisdom; I am Understanding, I have strength. (Ecclesiastes 7:19) By me kings reign and rulers decree Justice. By me princes rule and nobles, all the judges of (Righteousness) the earth. I Love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. (Isaiah 55:6; Jeremiah 29:12-13; Matthew 6:33) Riches and honor are with me, enduring riches and Righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold and my revenue than choice silver. I traverse the Way of Righteousness, (Hebrews 10:19-22) in the midst of the paths of Justice, that I may cause those who Love me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries. (Matthew 6:18-24)

:22-31 JEHOVAH possessed me at the beginning of His Way, before His Works of old. I have been established from Everlasting, from the beginning, before there was ever an earth. (Psalm 90:1-2) When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth; while as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, or the primal dust of the world. (Proverbs 3:19-20; Isaiah 43:10-13) When He prepared the Heavens I was there, when He drew the circle on the face of the deep, when He established the clouds above, when He strengthened the fountains of the deep. When He assigned the sea its limit, so that the waters could not transgress His Command, when He marked out the foundations of the earth, (Genesis 1:1-10; Revelation 4:11) Then  I was beside Him as a Master Craftsman; and I was daily His Delight, Rejoicing always before Him, Rejoicing in His inhabited world and my delight was with the sons of men.

:32-36 Now therefore listen to me my children; for Blessed are those who keep my ways (Matthew 7:13-14) hear Instruction and be Wise and do not disdain it. Blessed is the man who Listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors; (Proverbs 9:1-6; Matthew 11:19) For whoever Finds me Finds Life and Obtains Favor from JEHOVAH! But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; (being) all those who hate me love death.” (Psalm 50:16-23; Proverbs 5:11-14; Revelation 16:9, 11, 21)

* prudence: ‛ormâh = trickery or (in a good sense) discretion:-guile, prudence, subtilty, willy, wisdom.1

** fools: kecîyl from kâcal = probably fat, i.e. (figuratively) stupid or silly”-fool (ish). A judgment that GOD reserves for Himself,1 Matthew 5:21-22.

You Are A Temple Of GOD!

You Are A Temple Of GOD!

The Bible teaches us that we are Temples of JEHOVAH GOD! (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:15-20, 2 Corinthians 6:11-18)

Do you understand what that means? GOD’s SPIRIT Lives in every Born Again Believer! JESUS said we must Abide in His Word and His Word must Abide in us! (John 8:28-32)

JESUS said we must Abide in Him and He must Abide in us! (John 15:1-17)

JESUS said then we would Abide in The Father and He would Abide in us! (John 17:20-23)

Think of it, The One True, Living and Only GOD – JEHOVAH Lives in you if you are a Born Again Believer in JESUS CHRIST! (John 1:12-14; Romans 10:8-15)

Not only that, but The Bible teaches that JESUS is the Chief Cornerstone (of the Foundation) and He is The Foundation! (Isaiah 28:16; Psalm 118:22-23 [Matthew 21:42];)

The Bible tells us that we must build our Life (Temple) on the Foundation of JESUS CHRIST! (1 Corinthians 3:8-14; 1 Peter 2:4-8)

How is your Building coming along? You know this is a Life long project of GOD’s SPIRIT to Conform us to the Image of CHRIST? (1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Ephesians 2:19-22; Philippians 3:7-11) There are mistakes and breaks that must be repaired or replaced as we grow through Life!

That is why we must always be “Seeking The Kingdom Of GOD and His Righteousness!” (2 Chronicles 7:13-14; Isaiah 55:6; Jeremiah 29:11-13)

Proverbs Chapter 7

Proverbs Chapter 7

:1-5 My son, keep my words and treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye*. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet** of your heart***. Say to Wisdom, “You are my sister” and call Understanding your nearest kin; that they may keep you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words. (A common theme in many of the Proverbs is sexual morality, here we are reminded that seeking and keeping GOD’s Word is a protection from sexual immorality. As we’ve seen in earlier chapters Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding and Discernment are spirits [living beings] of GOD)

:6-23 This is like a parable that JESUS would tell, it is the story of a simple man who is drawn into sexual immorality by a woman with “a crafty heart”; she talks him into committing sexual immorality which she makes clear is her purpose for meeting him. (vss. 13-21) He willingly goes with her as an ox goes to the slaughter or a fool to the correction of the stocks (a public form of shaming); or unthinkingly, he does not understand the consequences of his action; which as a Hebrew he should know under the Torah it is death. JESUS tells us that adultery is not just in the physical act but in the heart. (Matthew 5:27-32)  In Galatians 5:16-26 Paul reminds us to walk uprightly before GOD and avoid all forms of immorality.

:24-27 Then Solomon spells out the meaning of the parable. Sin leads to death! (James 1:12-16)

* “apple of your eye” is used three times in the KJV, (Deuteronomy 32:10; Psalm 17:8; Proverbs 7:2; in Deuteronomy and Psalm the note in the NKJV says pupil.

Apple: ’iyahôwn = the little man of the eye; the pupil or ball; hence the middle of the eye.

Eye: ‘ayin = an eye (literally or figuratively).1

** tablet (table in the KJV): lûwach or lûach = from a primary root; probably meaning to glisten; a tablet (as polished) of stone, wood or metal:-board, plate, table.1

*** heart: lêb = the heart; also used (figuratively) very widely for feelings, the will and even the intellect; likewise for the center of anything.1

The Keys Of The Kingdom!

The Keys Of The Kingdom!

Matthew 16:19 “And I will give you the Keys of The Kingdom of Heaven…”

There has been good and bad teachings based on this passage of Scripture. I, like many others believe I understand what JESUS was saying and it is contrary to the most popular teaching of this passage.

So first let’s read this in context: Matthew 16:13-20 “When JESUS came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, ‘Who do men say that I, The Son of Man,  am?’ So they said, ‘Some say John The Baptist, some Elijah and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’

He said to them, ‘But, Who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are The CHRIST, The Son of The Living GOD!’ JESUS answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in Heaven!

And I also say to you that you are Peter and on this Rock* I will build My Church, and the gates of hades shall not prevail (be victorious) against it.

And I will give you the Keys of The Kingdon of Heaven and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven (Or will have been bound in Heaven), and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven (Or will have been loosed in Heaven).’

Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was JESUS The CHRIST!”

Let’s break this down:13-15 “…JESUS came to the region of Caesarea Philippi…” there is much teaching about this being an area of witchcraft and devil worship that was called “the gates of hade.” JESUS asked the question, “Who do men say that I, The son of Man,  am?” This is a loaded question as they, like the Pharisees understood the phrase, “Son of Man” from Daniel’s prophesy about the MESSIAH (Daniel 7:13-14). They answered several reasonable names, but He then asked them the important question, “Who do you say that I am?”

:16-17 Peter answers from his spirit, “You are The CHRIST, The Son of The Living GOD!” and JESUS commends him for listening to The SPIRIT.

:18  “And I also say to you that you are Peter! And on this Rock I will build My Church,…” Peter at this point is not the rock that he will become years later; his boldness in Fatih does not come until Pentecost and the outpouring of The HOLY SPIRIT, but that was to the Jews in Jerusalem and Judea, JEHOVAH has to cause persecution to the point that the Believers spread out into Samaria (Acts 8), then again JEHOVAH has to force Peter to take the Gospel to the Gentiles (Acts 10), then JEHOVAH calls Saul (Paul) to be the Apostle to the Gentiles (Acts 13). So Peter is not The Rock that JESUS is building His Church on!

JESUS is the Chief Corner Stone (Psalm 118:21-24; Acts 4:8-12) and The Foundation (1 Corinthians 3:5-17)  that The Church is built on (1 Peter 2:1-10)!

“…and the gates of hades will not prevail against it!” Genesis 22:16-18, this is the first Promise of GOD to His Chosen People (that is all who Serve JEHOVAH and believe in JESUS CHRIST) to take the territory of GOD’s enemies; the first fulfillment was with the Children of Israel possessing The Promised Land (Joshua). JESUS in His Promise to the Disciples (therefore the whole Body of CHRIST in the earth) was speaking of the spiritual warfare to take back the souls of those lost to sin, thereby diminishing the devils kingdom in the earth; the devil is not the lord of hell, he will be there as a tormented prisoner (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10).

:19 “And I will give you The Keys of The Kingdom of Heaven,…” What are the Keys of The Kingdom of Heaven and who is JESUS giving them to? We know what The Kingdom of Heaven is, it is where JEHOVAH GOD exists, the place where all who are Born Again in JESUS CHRIST will dwell with JEHOVAH and JESUS through Eternity, but what are the Keys that will get us in? John 1:1-14, 3:16-17; Romans 1:16-17, 10:8-15!

We (all Believers) have JESUS’ commission to Preach The Gospel, make Disciples, lay hands on the sick, cast out demons and do whatever GOD gives us individually to do in the earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:14-18, Luke 11:2)

“…and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven (Or will have been bound in Heaven) and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven (Or will have been loosed in Heaven).” (Matthew 18:15-20; John 20:19-23). This is the spiritual warfare that we are fighting, to make disciples of the nations – take back the territory that the devil had usurped from Adam because he caused him to disobey GOD. That is the devil’s only tool against humanity – to get us to sin against GOD. By not sinning we stop his encroach in our life. By proclaiming The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST we take back the lives of people who are trapped in his control. We are pulling down the gates of hell by our prayers and fastings and preaching and teaching. Every time a person is saved by Faith in JESUS CHRIST the realm of hell is diminished.

* Rock(s) = pĕtra; feminine of the same as Pĕtrōs; a (mass of) rock (literally or figuratively):-rock.

Pĕtrōs = a primary word, a (piece of ) rock (larger than lithōs); as a name, Petrus, an apostle:- Peter, rock. Comparatively Kēphas.

Lithōs = apparently a primary word; a stone (literally or figuratively):-(mill, stumbling-) stone. (Luke 20:17-18, 21:6, 24:2; John 8:7, 11:38-41, 20:1; Acts 4:11; this word is used 36 times in the Second Covenant, it references a hand held stone to the stones that sealed Lazarus and JESUS’ tombs; it also represents JESUS The Stone rejected Luke 20:17-18, Acts 4:8-11).

Kēphas = of Chaldean origin [comparatively kêph]; the rock; Cephas (i.e. Kepha), a surname of Peter:-Cephas.

kêph = from kâphaph; a hollow rock:-rock.

kâphaph = a primary root; to curve:-bow down (self).

Pĕtra is used 20 times in the Second Covenant, Matthew 7:24-25 (Luke 6:48 - twice)**, 16:18, 27:60 (Mark 15:46); Luke 8:6, 13; Romans 9:33; 1 Corinthians 10:4 (twice); 1 Peter 2:8.

trachus = perhaps strengthened from the base rhēgnum; (as if jagged by rents); uneven, rocky (reefy):- rock, rough.

rhēgnum or rhēssō; both probably forms of rhēkō (which appears only in certain forms and is itself probably a strengthen form of agnumi [see katagnumi]; to ‘break’, ‘wreck” or “crack”, i.e. (especially) to sunder (by separation of the parts; katagnumi being its intensive [with the preposition in comparative], and thrauō***.

tŏpŏs = apparently a primary word; a spot (generally in space but limited by occupancy;

whereas chōra; feminine of a derivative of the base of chsma, from a form of***.)

** In Matthew and Mark’s telling of the parable of The Sower stony ground is used instead of rocks (see lithōs above).

*** I stopped here because the Greeks just did not seem to know how to define words with a single definition.

Matthew 7:21-29

Matthew 7:21-29

Matthew 4:23-5:2 “And JESUS went about all Galilee teaching in their Synagogues, preaching The Gospel of The Kingdom and Healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His Fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments and those who were demon-possessed and  epileptics; and He Healed them all. Great multitudes followed Him – from Galilee and Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and beyond Jordan. And seeing the multitudes He went up on a mountain and when He was seated His disciples came to Him; then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:”

:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘LORD, LORD,’ shall enter The Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does The Will of My Father in Heaven.

Here in the Sermon On The Mount, JESUS is making a reference to the End of Days – The Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation 20:11-15.

:22-23 Many will say to Me in That Day, ‘LORD, LORD,  have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in your Name, and done many wonders in Your Name?’ And then I Will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me you who practice lawlessness (iniquity)!’

This is the scary part – these people are doing mighty miracles and works in JESUS’ Name, that can only be done by The Power of The SPIRIT of GOD! Yet, JESUS is calling them sinners! JESUS is talking to the religious who believe they are saved and serving GOD. (Matthew 23:1-36 [:27-28]; Luke 9:49-50; Philippians 1:15-18)

:24-25 Therefore whoever hears these saying of mine and does them (Mark 4:21-25) I will liken to a Wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock (1 Corinthians 3:9-15).

:26-27 But everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does not do them, will be like a foolish man (remember only GOD can judge a person as a fool; Matthew 5:21-22) who built his house on the sand; and the rain descended, the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell and great was its fall.

:28-29 And so it was, when JESUS had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His Teaching, for He Taught them as One having Authority and not as the scribes.” (Genesis 1:1-3; John 1:1; JESUS is the Word and the source of Life.)

:15-20 “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit! A good tree cannot bear bad fruit nor a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire! Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”

Matthew 7:1-12

Matthew 7:1-12

Introduction:

:1 “Judge (condemn) not that you be not Judged!” What a statement, JESUS has been talking about Love everybody, Forgive everybody and now He tops it off with Do not Judge anybody! How are we supposed to go through Life if we are not allowed to criticize anybody, hate anybody or hold a grudge against anybody?

:2 “For with what Judgment (condemnation) you Judge, you will be Judged, and with the Measure you use, it will be Measured back to you!” Think of this next time someone hurts or offends you or takes advantage of you or anyone you Love! How you respond is how you will be treated by others. They may not even know it, but GOD will allow someone to condemn you as you have condemned someone else! That is what this Scripture says.

:3-5 “Why do you look at the speck in your brothers eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye,; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” This is an example; make sure you are Living right before GOD and people before you speak to someone about their faults or sins!

:6 “Do not give what is Holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn and tear you in pieces.” What does this have to do with what JESUS was just saying? What is Holy to you (what have you set apart in your life to GOD)? Your marriage or personal relationships; your time and energy? We have to guard these things from frivolous conversations, such as telling people’s secrets or making fun of people’s habits. So far in The Sermon On The Mount, this is exactly what JESUS has been talking about, how we Live our Life in public and private! GOD sees, hears and knows everything we think and say. Nothing is hidden from Him (Psalm 17:6, 139:1-12; Proverbs 16:1-3).

:7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives and he who seeks finds and to him who knocks it will be opened.” What are the catches? Every promise In the Scriptures has a requirement and every Command has a reward! (Matthew 6:25-34; 2 Chronicles 7:13-14; Isaiah 55:6; John 8:28-32)

:9-11 “Or what man is there among you who if his sons asks for bread will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him? (James 1:16-17)

:12 “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is The Law and the Prophets.” This is called The Golden Rule “Do to others what you want them to do to you!” (Matthew 22:36-40)

Psalm 83 A Prayer

Psalm 83

A Prayer For Israel and The Church!

A Song.

A Psalm of Asaph.

Do not keep silent, O ELOHIM!

Do not hold Your Peace and do not be still, O ELOHIM!

For look, Your enemies make an uproar; and those who hate You have exalted themselves.

They have craftly taken council against Your people and conspire against You sheltered ones.

They have said, “Come let us wipe them out as a nation, and let the name of Israel (Christianity) be remembered no more!”

For they have conspired together with one heart, they have made a covenant against You –

The tents of Edom (Esau) and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, Gebal, Ammon, Amalek; Philistia with its inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also has joined with them; they have helped the children of Lot.

Selah!

Deal with them as with Midian, as with Sisera, as with Jabin at the Brook Kishon, who perished at En Dor, who became as dung on the ground; make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, yes all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna; who said, “Let us take for ourselves the pastures of ELOHIM for a Possession!”

O my ELOHIM, make them as whirling dust, like chaff before the wind.

As a fire consumes a forest and as a flame sets a mountain on fire, so pursue them with Your whirlwind, and frighten them with Your storm!

Fill their faces with shame, and let them seek Your Name, O JEHOVAH!

Let them be ashamed and frightened forever O JEHOVAH!

Let them be put to shame and perish!

Let them know that You, Whose Name is JEHOVAH, You alone are The Most High over all the earth!

It is interesting how many of Israel’s enemies were and are blood relatives. It is the same today many Christian sects are opposed to GOD and His Will.

Vs. 6: 2 Chronicles 20:1, 10-17; Edom (Esau) – Genesis 36; Ishmael – Genesis 2512-18; Moab – Genesis 19:37: Hagrites (Hadad or Hadar) – Genesis 25:15, 1 Chronicles 1:29-31

Vs. 7: Ammon – Genesis 19:38; Amalek – Genesis 36:15-16

Vs. 8: Lot – Genesis 19:30-38

Vs. 9: Midian – Genesis 25:1-4, Judges 6:3

Pride Goes Before A Fall!

Pride Goes Before A Fall!

We have all heard this saying before, pride goes before a fall; Proverbs 16:18, “Before destruction comes pride and before a fall a haughty spirit!” Everybody basically understands what this means, but have you thought about what, GOD, Who is the One saying this in the Scriptures means?

Let’s look at a couple of Scriptural examples:

Cain, the first born son of Adam and Eve, he was so proud of his offering to GOD that because GOD rejected his offering but accepted his brother, Able’s that he killed Able. So GOD marked him so that everyone who saw him knew that GOD rejected him for his crime, he was an outcast the rest of his life Genesis 4:1-16.

The account of Balaam and Balak; Balaam was a prophet of JEHOVAH who lived by the land of Moab, the king of Moab, Balak called on Balaam to curse the people of Israel because he feared them. Balaam started out good, he told Balak that he could only speak what JEHOVAH told him to speak, he could not curse Israel even though Balak offered him riches 3 times. Each time Balaam sought JEHOVAH but answered Balak exactly what JEHOVAH told him to. But Balaam kept calling on JEHOVAH on Balak’s behalf, even though JEHOVAH told him He would not curse Israel. GOD even sent an angel to kill Balaam at one point. Balaam gave 2 Scriptures that are quoted still today. “GOD is not a man that He should lie, neither a son of man that He should repent, has He not said and will He not do it? Or has He spoken and will He not make it Good?” Numbers 23:19; and a prophesy of David/JESUS, 24:14-25. (Numbers 22-24, 31:8; Jude 3; Revelation 2:14)

The account of Nebuchadnezzar as a wild beast. First GOD called him to conquer all the nations around Israel and Israel (Jeremiah 25). Then he rose up in pride and GOD humbled his as a beast of the field for 7 years; then JEHOVAH restored Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom to him because he saw JEHOVAH as the only True GOD. Think of this: JEHOVAH called Nebuchadnezzar as a servant to punish Israel and the nations around her; then JEHOVAH Judged Nebuchadnezzar for his pride, yet he saw Nebuchadnezzar’s heart and restored him with his kingdom intact, Daniel 4.

What do Belshazzar and a rich man in Judia have in common? Both were vain and both received JEHOVAH’s Judgment in one day!

Daniel 5 tells of Belshazzar’s night of celebrating his gods of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood and stone by drinking wine for JEHOVAH’s holy vessels that his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken form the Temple in Jerusalem. JEHOVAH GOD wrote by hand His Judgment on the wall of the hall where Belshazzar was celebrating with his leaders and friends and none of his wise men or false religious priests could interpret it. His mother reminded him of his father’s head wise man, Daniel who came and called out Belshazzar’s vanity and interpreted the message form GOD of His Judgment against Belshazzar and his rule. Belshazzar honored Daniel, but that very night he assassinated and the Meads took over his kingdom.

In Luke 12:16-21 JESUS tells a parable of a rich man who had a great harvest and did not know what to do with it. (in Luke 12:13-15 JESUS taught about not being greedy.)  The man instead of being generous decided to keep what he already had plus his new great harvest for himself. That night GOD came to him and called him into Judgment, then JEHOVAH said to the man, “Fool! This night your soul will be required of you, then whose will those things be which you have provided?” Then JESUS warned the people, “So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward GOD!” (Matthew 6:19-23)

So Cain, Balaam, Nebuchadneazzar, Belshazzar and the rich man were proud; the fruit of pride is vanity and selfishness. Andrew Murray calls pride the root of all sin!

So as a Christian we have to be careful about pride! Cain knew JEHOVAH and brought Him an offering of his pride; Balaam was a prophet of JEHOVAH who GOD spoke to, but he desired riches; Nebuchadneazzar was raised up by GOD to conquer many nations as JEHOVAH’s Judgment against them, even after seeing JEHOVAH’s Greatness through the Hebrew people in his government he gave credit to his greatness to himself; Belshazzar inherited his father’s kingdom but had done nothing to earn it. His vanity was his judgment and death and the rich man was a Hebrew who knew the Torah and the Prophets, yet he was vain and greedy. (James 1:12-16)

Why?

Why?

Why do the Christians who are making Bible movies and television programs ALWAYS change what The Bible says. They ALWAYS add, subtract and change the words and the events of The Bible. Why? It makes no sense, The Word of GOD is so Rich with Life, Truth and Excitement why do you feel the need to change anything?

The only thing that ever needs to be changed is the language, nobody in The Bible spoke in 15th to 18th century English! Only if you are trying to catch the essence of the original languages of The Bible: Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek or Latin should you use anything other than the modern language of the audience.

No facts or activities of the people whose story is being told should be changed or deleted! NOTHING should be added to the story; do you actually think that GOD believes you are better at telling His Story than the people He chose? That GOD is now choosing you to rewrite His Story?

Now there are many fictious stories that center around a Bible character or event, like the woman brought before JESUS accused of adultery. You can add a back story of how she got to that point in her life, tell exactly what happened when she was brought before JESUS and then tell a story of what happened to her after that encounter. Or how about Jabez and his prayer; what led him to that day and how did GOD Bless him. There are many potential fiction stories in the Bible* so that no one should fictionalize stories about Moses, David, JESUS, Paul, etc. The Bible is written so that you do not have to fill in the blanks, what is unknown is not important so you do not have to fictionalize it.

One reason they get away with it is they are making it into “Entertainment”. The Bible is Not Entertainment! It is The Word of GOD – the printed representation of JESUS CHRIST The Living Word! Who is The Only Begotten Son of GOD, The Lamb Who was slain before the foundation of the earth, Who came to take away the sins of the world! We are told by GOD throughout The Bible not to delete, add or change anything in His Word, The Bible! There are severe consequences for doing that!

Another reason they get away with it is that Christian television, Pastors and other Church leaders promote these blasphemous movies and programs, they advertise them and promote them and some even make money off of them by raising donations.

* In the eighties I knew a pastor who wrote a fiction story of Simon the tanner, he wrote a back story to the point of Peter staying in his home for a while, them told the future story of him and his family, it was a good and entertaining Bible story showing GOD’s Love and Power working in the lives of ordinary people’s lives. There was the 1953 movie “The Robe” an excellent movie about the robe that the Romans cast lots for at His crucifixion, and how it affected the lives of the people who had it.

Are You Full Of The LORD?

Are You Full Of The LORD?

There are many great hymns worship songs but some of them are spiritually and theologically wrong. If you study The Bible (and you should be studying The Bible) you will recognize song lyrics that are not true to GOD’s Word.

The lyrics for the song “Fill My Cup LORD” have always bothered me:

Like the woman at the well, I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy.
And then I heard my Savior speaking—
“Draw from My Well that never shall run dry.”

Fill my cup, Lord;
I lift it up Lord;
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.

There are millions in this world who are seeking
For pleasures earthly goods afford.
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.

So my brother if the things that this world gives you
Leave hungers that won’t pass away,
My blessed Lord will come and save you
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray—

Do you really want The LORD JESUS to quench your soul’s longing for His presence in your Life? To quench means to extinguish or cool down!

Do you really want The HOLY SPIRIT to feed you with The WORD of GOD so that you want no more? To not want more of something is to be satisfied or no longer desire it! Are you satisfied with the level of Knowledge you have of The Word of GOD? May it not be so! (As Paul says)

The stanzas of this song are good it is just to chorus that is wrong.

When I am singing this song I change “quench” and “want no more” to overflow. In the line “Come and overflow this thirsting of my soul.” Is a little awkward but it is better than saying I want to be quenched!

The theological point is that we should never want our desire for JESUS and His SPIRIT to be cooled down much less quenched! We should be overflowing with His Word and His SPIRIT so that it is always flowing out of us to those around us. If we are filled we should be sharing!

Another thing about hymns and worship songs, is that to many of them are about GOD and JESUS rather then to GOD and JESUS. The word LORD is a title and you can sing JEHOVAH, YAHWEH or JESUS in its place; I change He to You and us to I, personalize your worship!

Worship is a core part of our relationship with GOD and it should be theologically correct and personal, between you and Him!
