Prayer For America July 4, 2021

 

O LORD our GOD, Elohim and Heavenly Father: as we celebrate our declaration of independence from the tyrannical British Empire in 1776 we ask You to forgive us that in 1964 we elected a president who officially started us as a nation on the road to the tyrannical rule of socialism. Forgive us, Your people The Church in America that we have not only allowed but participated in the process of removing You from every aspect of our lives as individuals and as a nation; but we did not actually stand in the gap to resist the work of Your adversary as he turned this nation from Your call and purpose. Now we find ourselves as Israel of old where our capital is completely corrupt and our society is deceived by our clergy, political leaders, social and educational institutions to the point that most Americans believe lies over Truth.

O LORD our GOD, Elohim and Heavenly Father: we as for Your Mercy and Grace as You Judge us and our nation, convict us of our sins as individuals, families, communities, counties, states and territories; as businesses, industries, financial and education institutions; as information, entertainment and social medias. Forgive us that we have individually and collectively rejected You, Your Son, Your SPIRIT and Your Word.

O LORD our GOD, Elohim and Heavenly Father have Mercy on us and give us Grace as we go through the process of recognizing our sins against You, humbly asking for Your forgiveness through JESUS CHRIST our Savior who takes away our sin; through our repentance as we learn by Your SPIRIT and Your Word to live as You created us in Your own image to live; and to obey and keep doing Your Will for us as individuals, families, communities, counties, states and territories: restore us as The United States of America, One Nation Under GOD, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All.

The Sabbath!

Do you know how easy it is to stay busy? I most certainly do. There seems to always be something that needs to be done; work, home, family, church and repeat over and over.

We even stay busy for good reasons and the "right" reasons. But that doesn't change God's words and what He has instructed us to do. In case we've forgotten, to Sabbath is one of the ten commandments.

Sit with that for a moment.

There are some pretty serious and heavy commandments and observing the Sabbath is right there among them. He created us, so He didn't make us for a "reward" of a day of rest. He created us to work six days and rest one. We are made for productivity and hard work and then to rest.. Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Mark 2:27 NASB

So let me share with you about an Olympian you may have heard, his name is Eric Liddell? He was an Olympian that was set to compete in the Olympics in 1924 and was expected to take home the medal. But his qualifying race was scheduled on Sunday, the day he observed as his Sabbath. He was a devout Christian and chose to honor God over others expectations, the great opposition and his personal gain.

A few days later though he competed in a race that was not his strength and wasn't expected to win. Yet, he not only win it but he also broke the world record and held that status for years. I would say there was some blessing and favor there!

So, when we observe the Sabbath, when we make a simple yet hard choice to rest, then we are within His will for our lives.

It starts with a desire to be obedient to what He has said. I want that desire, but I can find SO so many reasons to keep going. But will my reason to stop and rest outweigh the other?

I certainly hope it does.

I am still learning and growing and I encourage you to do the same. Start by making small changes. The first change starts in your heart. Ask God to give you a desire to please Him above all else. Once we get it, once we begin to honor the Sabbath, our lives will forever be changed, for the better.

Song to Him, sing praises to His Him! Talk about all His Wonders. Glory in His Holy Name; let those seeking The LORD have joyful hearts. Seek The LORD and His Strength; always seek His Presence.” 1 Chronicles 16:8-11

JESUS told Martha that seeking Him and His Word were more important than seeking to serve Him. We know that GOD has given each of us a call and the gift to fulfill that call. But He wants us to seek His Presence and His Word, then we will fulfill His Purpose for us. It is not in the service that we fulfill our call – it is in Him! Matthew 6:33; Philippians 2:12-16

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in CHRIST JESUS, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to The SPIRIT…But you are not in the flesh but in The SPIRIT, if indeed the SPIRIT of GOD dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have The SPIRIT of CHRIST, he is not His. And if CHRIST is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the SPIRIT is life because of Righteousness. But if The SPIRIT of Him who raised JESUS from the dead dwells in you, He who raised CHRIST from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His SPRIT who dwells in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors–not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh…But if we hope for what we do not see we eagerly with for it with perseverance…And we know that all things work together for Good to those who Love GOD, to those who are The Called according to His Purpose…For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the Love of GOD which is in CHRST JESUS our LORD.” If the number 8 means new beginnings then Romans 8 is the chapter of new beginnings. We must not only read, but we must learn and live the teachings of Romans 8. We not only need to memorize a couple of key verses; which we mostly only learn the promise part of and then quote out of context; but we should be living the whole chapter! “Therefore, since we have a Great High Priest who has passed through to the Highest Heaven, JESUS, The Son of GOD, let us hold firmly to what we acknowledge as True. For we do not have a High Priest unable to empathize with our weaknesses; since in every respect He was tempted just as we are, the only difference being that He did not sin. Therefore, let us confidently approach The Throne from which GOD gives Grace, so that we may receive Mercy and find Grace in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16

 

Do we as believers struggle? Yes! In every aspect of our life we have struggles and in every aspect of our life we have to be surrendered to GOD’s Will for us. To receive His Mercy and Grace in our struggles we have to be surrendered to His Will. Not the Mercy and Grace that every human may receive because GOD is Good, but His Mercy and Grace for us right now specific to our situation now. JESUS had to be rejected, beaten, scourged and crucified! Peter had to be tried, and so do we; for our own sake so that we know we can do whatever The Father Calls us to do. JESUS said, “Count it all joy when men you persecute for MY Name’s sake.” GOD told Paul, My Grace is sufficient for you.” If there is no trial, test, temptation or tribulation we will not receive GOD’s specific Mercy and Grace for our obedience!
