You Are A Temple Of GOD!

You Are A Temple Of GOD!

The Bible teaches us that we are Temples of JEHOVAH GOD! (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:15-20, 2 Corinthians 6:11-18)

Do you understand what that means? GOD’s SPIRIT Lives in every Born Again Believer! JESUS said we must Abide in His Word and His Word must Abide in us! (John 8:28-32)

JESUS said we must Abide in Him and He must Abide in us! (John 15:1-17)

JESUS said then we would Abide in The Father and He would Abide in us! (John 17:20-23)

Think of it, The One True, Living and Only GOD – JEHOVAH Lives in you if you are a Born Again Believer in JESUS CHRIST! (John 1:12-14; Romans 10:8-15)

Not only that, but The Bible teaches that JESUS is the Chief Cornerstone (of the Foundation) and He is The Foundation! (Isaiah 28:16; Psalm 118:22-23 [Matthew 21:42];)

The Bible tells us that we must build our Life (Temple) on the Foundation of JESUS CHRIST! (1 Corinthians 3:8-14; 1 Peter 2:4-8)

How is your Building coming along? You know this is a Life long project of GOD’s SPIRIT to Conform us to the Image of CHRIST? (1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Ephesians 2:19-22; Philippians 3:7-11) There are mistakes and breaks that must be repaired or replaced as we grow through Life!

That is why we must always be “Seeking The Kingdom Of GOD and His Righteousness!” (2 Chronicles 7:13-14; Isaiah 55:6; Jeremiah 29:11-13)

Proverbs Chapter 7

Proverbs Chapter 7

:1-5 My son, keep my words and treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye*. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet** of your heart***. Say to Wisdom, “You are my sister” and call Understanding your nearest kin; that they may keep you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words. (A common theme in many of the Proverbs is sexual morality, here we are reminded that seeking and keeping GOD’s Word is a protection from sexual immorality. As we’ve seen in earlier chapters Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding and Discernment are spirits [living beings] of GOD)

:6-23 This is like a parable that JESUS would tell, it is the story of a simple man who is drawn into sexual immorality by a woman with “a crafty heart”; she talks him into committing sexual immorality which she makes clear is her purpose for meeting him. (vss. 13-21) He willingly goes with her as an ox goes to the slaughter or a fool to the correction of the stocks (a public form of shaming); or unthinkingly, he does not understand the consequences of his action; which as a Hebrew he should know under the Torah it is death. JESUS tells us that adultery is not just in the physical act but in the heart. (Matthew 5:27-32)  In Galatians 5:16-26 Paul reminds us to walk uprightly before GOD and avoid all forms of immorality.

:24-27 Then Solomon spells out the meaning of the parable. Sin leads to death! (James 1:12-16)

* “apple of your eye” is used three times in the KJV, (Deuteronomy 32:10; Psalm 17:8; Proverbs 7:2; in Deuteronomy and Psalm the note in the NKJV says pupil.

Apple: ’iyahôwn = the little man of the eye; the pupil or ball; hence the middle of the eye.

Eye: ‘ayin = an eye (literally or figuratively).1

** tablet (table in the KJV): lûwach or lûach = from a primary root; probably meaning to glisten; a tablet (as polished) of stone, wood or metal:-board, plate, table.1

*** heart: lêb = the heart; also used (figuratively) very widely for feelings, the will and even the intellect; likewise for the center of anything.1

The Keys Of The Kingdom!

The Keys Of The Kingdom!

Matthew 16:19 “And I will give you the Keys of The Kingdom of Heaven…”

There has been good and bad teachings based on this passage of Scripture. I, like many others believe I understand what JESUS was saying and it is contrary to the most popular teaching of this passage.

So first let’s read this in context: Matthew 16:13-20 “When JESUS came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, ‘Who do men say that I, The Son of Man,  am?’ So they said, ‘Some say John The Baptist, some Elijah and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’

He said to them, ‘But, Who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are The CHRIST, The Son of The Living GOD!’ JESUS answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in Heaven!

And I also say to you that you are Peter and on this Rock* I will build My Church, and the gates of hades shall not prevail (be victorious) against it.

And I will give you the Keys of The Kingdon of Heaven and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven (Or will have been bound in Heaven), and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven (Or will have been loosed in Heaven).’

Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was JESUS The CHRIST!”

Let’s break this down:13-15 “…JESUS came to the region of Caesarea Philippi…” there is much teaching about this being an area of witchcraft and devil worship that was called “the gates of hade.” JESUS asked the question, “Who do men say that I, The son of Man,  am?” This is a loaded question as they, like the Pharisees understood the phrase, “Son of Man” from Daniel’s prophesy about the MESSIAH (Daniel 7:13-14). They answered several reasonable names, but He then asked them the important question, “Who do you say that I am?”

:16-17 Peter answers from his spirit, “You are The CHRIST, The Son of The Living GOD!” and JESUS commends him for listening to The SPIRIT.

:18  “And I also say to you that you are Peter! And on this Rock I will build My Church,…” Peter at this point is not the rock that he will become years later; his boldness in Fatih does not come until Pentecost and the outpouring of The HOLY SPIRIT, but that was to the Jews in Jerusalem and Judea, JEHOVAH has to cause persecution to the point that the Believers spread out into Samaria (Acts 8), then again JEHOVAH has to force Peter to take the Gospel to the Gentiles (Acts 10), then JEHOVAH calls Saul (Paul) to be the Apostle to the Gentiles (Acts 13). So Peter is not The Rock that JESUS is building His Church on!

JESUS is the Chief Corner Stone (Psalm 118:21-24; Acts 4:8-12) and The Foundation (1 Corinthians 3:5-17)  that The Church is built on (1 Peter 2:1-10)!

“…and the gates of hades will not prevail against it!” Genesis 22:16-18, this is the first Promise of GOD to His Chosen People (that is all who Serve JEHOVAH and believe in JESUS CHRIST) to take the territory of GOD’s enemies; the first fulfillment was with the Children of Israel possessing The Promised Land (Joshua). JESUS in His Promise to the Disciples (therefore the whole Body of CHRIST in the earth) was speaking of the spiritual warfare to take back the souls of those lost to sin, thereby diminishing the devils kingdom in the earth; the devil is not the lord of hell, he will be there as a tormented prisoner (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10).

:19 “And I will give you The Keys of The Kingdom of Heaven,…” What are the Keys of The Kingdom of Heaven and who is JESUS giving them to? We know what The Kingdom of Heaven is, it is where JEHOVAH GOD exists, the place where all who are Born Again in JESUS CHRIST will dwell with JEHOVAH and JESUS through Eternity, but what are the Keys that will get us in? John 1:1-14, 3:16-17; Romans 1:16-17, 10:8-15!

We (all Believers) have JESUS’ commission to Preach The Gospel, make Disciples, lay hands on the sick, cast out demons and do whatever GOD gives us individually to do in the earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:14-18, Luke 11:2)

“…and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven (Or will have been bound in Heaven) and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven (Or will have been loosed in Heaven).” (Matthew 18:15-20; John 20:19-23). This is the spiritual warfare that we are fighting, to make disciples of the nations – take back the territory that the devil had usurped from Adam because he caused him to disobey GOD. That is the devil’s only tool against humanity – to get us to sin against GOD. By not sinning we stop his encroach in our life. By proclaiming The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST we take back the lives of people who are trapped in his control. We are pulling down the gates of hell by our prayers and fastings and preaching and teaching. Every time a person is saved by Faith in JESUS CHRIST the realm of hell is diminished.

Pĕtrōs = a primary word, a (piece of ) rock (larger than lithōs); as a name, Petrus, an apostle:- Peter, rock. Comparatively Kēphas.

Lithōs = apparently a primary word; a stone (literally or figuratively):-(mill, stumbling-) stone. (Luke 20:17-18, 21:6, 24:2; John 8:7, 11:38-41, 20:1; Acts 4:11; this word is used 36 times in the Second Covenant, it references a hand held stone to the stones that sealed Lazarus and JESUS’ tombs; it also represents JESUS The Stone rejected Luke 20:17-18, Acts 4:8-11).

Kēphas = of Chaldean origin [comparatively kêph]; the rock; Cephas (i.e. Kepha), a surname of Peter:-Cephas.

kêph = from kâphaph; a hollow rock:-rock.

kâphaph = a primary root; to curve:-bow down (self).

Pĕtra is used 20 times in the Second Covenant, Matthew 7:24-25 (Luke 6:48 - twice)**, 16:18, 27:60 (Mark 15:46); Luke 8:6, 13; Romans 9:33; 1 Corinthians 10:4 (twice); 1 Peter 2:8.

trachus = perhaps strengthened from the base rhēgnum; (as if jagged by rents); uneven, rocky (reefy):- rock, rough.

rhēgnum or rhēssō; both probably forms of rhēkō (which appears only in certain forms and is itself probably a strengthen form of agnumi [see katagnumi]; to ‘break’, ‘wreck” or “crack”, i.e. (especially) to sunder (by separation of the parts; katagnumi being its intensive [with the preposition in comparative], and thrauō***.

tŏpŏs = apparently a primary word; a spot (generally in space but limited by occupancy;

whereas chōra; feminine of a derivative of the base of chsma, from a form of***.)

** In Matthew and Mark’s telling of the parable of The Sower stony ground is used instead of rocks (see lithōs above).

*** I stopped here because the Greeks just did not seem to know how to define words with a single definition.

Matthew 7:21-29

Matthew 7:21-29

Matthew 4:23-5:2 “And JESUS went about all Galilee teaching in their Synagogues, preaching The Gospel of The Kingdom and Healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His Fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments and those who were demon-possessed and  epileptics; and He Healed them all. Great multitudes followed Him – from Galilee and Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and beyond Jordan. And seeing the multitudes He went up on a mountain and when He was seated His disciples came to Him; then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:”

:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘LORD, LORD,’ shall enter The Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does The Will of My Father in Heaven.

Here in the Sermon On The Mount, JESUS is making a reference to the End of Days – The Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation 20:11-15.

:22-23 Many will say to Me in That Day, ‘LORD, LORD,  have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in your Name, and done many wonders in Your Name?’ And then I Will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me you who practice lawlessness (iniquity)!’

This is the scary part – these people are doing mighty miracles and works in JESUS’ Name, that can only be done by The Power of The SPIRIT of GOD! Yet, JESUS is calling them sinners! JESUS is talking to the religious who believe they are saved and serving GOD. (Matthew 23:1-36 [:27-28]; Luke 9:49-50; Philippians 1:15-18)

:24-25 Therefore whoever hears these saying of mine and does them (Mark 4:21-25) I will liken to a Wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock (1 Corinthians 3:9-15).

:26-27 But everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does not do them, will be like a foolish man (remember only GOD can judge a person as a fool; Matthew 5:21-22) who built his house on the sand; and the rain descended, the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell and great was its fall.

:28-29 And so it was, when JESUS had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His Teaching, for He Taught them as One having Authority and not as the scribes.” (Genesis 1:1-3; John 1:1; JESUS is the Word and the source of Life.)

And seeing the multitudes He went up on a mountain and when He was seated His disciples came to Him; then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:”

:15-20 “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit! A good tree cannot bear bad fruit nor a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire! Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”

Matthew 7:1-12

Matthew 7:1-12

Introduction:

:1 “Judge (condemn) not that you be not Judged!” What a statement, JESUS has been talking about Love everybody, Forgive everybody and now He tops it off with Do not Judge anybody! How are we supposed to go through Life if we are not allowed to criticize anybody, hate anybody or hold a grudge against anybody?

:2 “For with what Judgment (condemnation) you Judge, you will be Judged, and with the Measure you use, it will be Measured back to you!” Think of this next time someone hurts or offends you or takes advantage of you or anyone you Love! How you respond is how you will be treated by others. They may not even know it, but GOD will allow someone to condemn you as you have condemned someone else! That is what this Scripture says.

:3-5 “Why do you look at the speck in your brothers eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye,; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” This is an example; make sure you are Living right before GOD and people before you speak to someone about their faults or sins!

:6 “Do not give what is Holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn and tear you in pieces.” What does this have to do with what JESUS was just saying? What is Holy to you (what have you set apart in your life to GOD)? Your marriage or personal relationships; your time and energy? We have to guard these things from frivolous conversations, such as telling people’s secrets or making fun of people’s habits. So far in The Sermon On The Mount, this is exactly what JESUS has been talking about, how we Live our Life in public and private! GOD sees, hears and knows everything we think and say. Nothing is hidden from Him (Psalm 17:6, 139:1-12; Proverbs 16:1-3).

:7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives and he who seeks finds and to him who knocks it will be opened.” What are the catches? Every promise In the Scriptures has a requirement and every Command has a reward! (Matthew 6:25-34; 2 Chronicles 7:13-14; Isaiah 55:6; John 8:28-32)

:9-11 “Or what man is there among you who if his sons asks for bread will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him? (James 1:16-17)

:12 “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is The Law and the Prophets.” This is called The Golden Rule “Do to others what you want them to do to you!” (Matthew 22:36-40)

Psalm 83 A Prayer

Psalm 83

A Prayer For Israel and The Church!

A Song.

A Psalm of Asaph.

Do not keep silent, O ELOHIM!

Do not hold Your Peace and do not be still, O ELOHIM!

For look, Your enemies make an uproar; and those who hate You have exalted themselves.

They have craftly taken council against Your people and conspire against You sheltered ones.

They have said, “Come let us wipe them out as a nation, and let the name of Israel (Christianity) be remembered no more!”

For they have conspired together with one heart, they have made a covenant against You –

The tents of Edom (Esau) and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, Gebal, Ammon, Amalek; Philistia with its inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also has joined with them; they have helped the children of Lot.

Selah!

Deal with them as with Midian, as with Sisera, as with Jabin at the Brook Kishon, who perished at En Dor, who became as dung on the ground; make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, yes all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna; who said, “Let us take for ourselves the pastures of ELOHIM for a Possession!”

O my ELOHIM, make them as whirling dust, like chaff before the wind.

As a fire consumes a forest and as a flame sets a mountain on fire, so pursue them with Your whirlwind, and frighten them with Your storm!

Fill their faces with shame, and let them seek Your Name, O JEHOVAH!

Let them be ashamed and frightened forever O JEHOVAH!

Let them be put to shame and perish!

Let them know that You, Whose Name is JEHOVAH, You alone are The Most High over all the earth!

It is interesting how many of Israel’s enemies were and are blood relatives. It is the same today many Christian sects are opposed to GOD and His Will.

Vs. 6: 2 Chronicles 20:1, 10-17; Edom (Esau) – Genesis 36; Ishmael – Genesis 2512-18; Moab – Genesis 19:37: Hagrites (Hadad or Hadar) – Genesis 25:15, 1 Chronicles 1:29-31
