Psalm 107
“Praise
ADONAI, for HE is Good, for HIS Lovingkindness endures forever. Let the
Redeemed of ADONAI say so…Who is wise? Let him observe these things and
consider ADONAI’s Lovingkindness.” Psalm 107:1, 2a, 43 TLV
The … is
what the Gospel is all about, it is what the heart of GOD is all about: this is
about GOD’s Love, Forgiveness and Provision for the Israelis and also for all Humanity.
:2b-9 those
who are wondering through life and cannot find satisfaction or fulfillment, their
souls were ebbing away; they cry out to GOD in their need and HE leads them to
the city of refuge and satisfies the needs of their souls. “Let them praise
ADONAI for HIS Mercy and for HIS Wonders for the children of men, for HE
Satisfies the thirsty soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness.” :8-9
:10-16 those
who were in darkness and gloom, in misery and chains for their defiance of GOD’s
Words and Counsel; GOD humbled their heart with trouble and they cried out to
ADONAI in their distress and HE Delivered them from their troubles when they
cried out for HIS help, HE brought them into Light and broke their chains. “Let
them praise ADONAI for HIS Mercy, and HIS Wonders for the children of men, for
HE Shattered bronze gates and and Broke into pieces iron bars.” :15-16
:17-22 “Some
became fools because of their rebellious ways and were afflicted due to their
iniquities.” They abhorred all that GOD offered for life and they drew near the
gates of eternal death. In their distress they cried out to ADONAI; HE Delivered
them from their troubles, HE Healed them by HIS Word and HE Rescued them from
their pits. “Let them praise ADONAI for HIS Mercy, and HIS Wonders for the children
of men. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of HIS Words with joyful
singing.” :17, 21-22
:23-32 Some
went to the seas for their trade, they saw the wonders of the seas and GOD
showed HIS Mighty Power in the waves. They feared the power of the seas, their
souls were weakened by their fear for they could not control or overcome the
seas. So they cried out to GOD in their distress and HE Stilled the waves, HE
Calmed the seas and delivered them, HE led them to their desired goal. “Let them
praise ADONAI for HIS Mercy, and HIS Wonders for the children of men. Let them
exalt HIM in the Congregation of the people, and praise HIM at the assembly of
the elders.” :31-32
:33-39 Because
of the evil of humanity HE dries up the land and makes it a wasteland. HE
brings the hungry who are few because they have been crushed and oppressed with
calamity and sorrow into a land of pools and springs into a safe dwelling where
their harvest is always fruitful and their herds never diminish.
:40-43 “HE
pours contempt on princes, making them wander in trackless waste. But HE Lifts
the needy high above affliction, and makes their families like a flock. The
upright see it and are glad, and all iniquity shuts its mouth. Who is wise? Let
him observe these things and consider ADONAI’s Lovingkindness.”
Before we
believed in JESUS CHRIST few of us had sought GOD before we found ourself at
our wits end and unable to solve our problems. At some point we all called out
to GOD for Help and HE Delivered us and Saved us. You’d think that we who
observed and experienced GOD’s Goodness and Mercy in our lives would heed HIS
Word and not fall back into the pattern of life that causes us to fall into the
pit and be bound with the chains of sin.
