Micah 3:5-12
A Word of The LORD to the Western Church today!
Here is what ADONAI says in regard to the
prophets who cause My people to go astray, who cry, “Peace” as soon as they are given food to eat but
prepare war against anyone who fails to put something in their mouths:
“Therefore, you will have night, not vision, darkness and not divination; the
sun will go down on the prophets, over them the day will be black.”
The seers will be put to shame, the diviners
will be disgraced. They will have to cover their mouths, because there will be
no answer from GOD. On the other hand, I am full of power by the Spirit of
ADONAI, full of justice and full of might, to declare to Ya’akov (Jacob) his
crime, to Isra’el his sin. Hear this, please, leaders of the house of Ya’akov,
rulers of the house of Isra’el, you who abhor what is just and pervert anything
that is right, who build up Tziyon (Zion) with blood and Yerushalayim (Jerusalem)
with wickedness. Her leaders sell verdicts for bribes, her cohanim (priests)
teach for a price, her prophets divine for money – yet they claim to rely on ADONAI!
“Isn’t ADONAI here with us?” they
say. “No evil can come upon us.” Therefore,
because of you, Tziyon will be plowed under like a field, Yerushalayim will
become heaps of ruins, and the mountain of the house like a forested height.”
As I was
reading in Micah this morning it seemed I was reading about the Western Church
and the USA, so much corruption and wickedness. As we see what is going on in
every level of our government, federal, state, county, city and municipal it is
obvious that more and more people are getting into government to get rich and
control other people’s lives. Our government truly is not by the people for the
people, it is the few who want all of us to live by their standard. That is
actually what they said for years that the Church was trying to do.
Actually
what the Church is supposed to do is tell people that GOD has a better plan for
their life and that requires a change in how they live their life so that they
can enter into GOD’s eternal Kingdom. But, no one is required to make that
change, it is an invitation from GOD because of His Love and everyone has the
ability to decline His invitation. The fact is that some in the Church have
done the work of the devil by forcing people to convert too their religious
version of Christianity.
The major
problem in the Church today is that now we teach that all you have to do is say
you believe and then you can live pretty much how you want, grace over
obedience. Jesus said that those who sin (and He listed them in the Gospels)
would not enter into GOD’s eternal Kingdom. Jesus said that there would be some
who call Him LORD and do the works of GOD but would not be known to Him or
allowed to enter into GOD’s eternal Kingdom. Jesus said not to fear men or
devils who can only kill the body but to fear GOD who can kill the body and the
soul in eternal judgment.
To highlight
that, today I heard about a well known and respected TV minister that said that
the 10 Commandments do not apply to Christians. On the face that statement
opposes the teachings of Jesus who fulfilled the Law and said that it would not
pass away. In the depth of the meaning of that statement it is a rejection of
Jesus who said that we must obey GOD above anything else and then He did just
that as the Son of Man by going to the cross.
Another
group is the one that says everything is going to be ok, GOD loves us and He is
not going to let anything bad (like the tribulation) hurt us. They were around
in Micah’s day and in our day; Jesus said we would be persecuted.
Why do
people teach things that the Bible does not teach especially when Jesus stated
them clearly? The real question is why do people who call themselves Christian
not know what Jesus and the Bible say? When we say that we are a Christian we
are saying we are a disciple of Jesus and a disciple is someone who does what the
one they are following does and teaches what they teach.
Stop
believing what people tell you the Bible says study it and learn for yourself
or it may cost you your eternity.
