Persistence - Patience

Persistence –Patience

JESUS taught the disciples and therefore us that persistence and patience are needed to press into The Kingdom and wait to see GOD’s works and receive His rewards: Matthew 6:33-34, 7:7-11; Luke 18:1-8; Acts 1:4-5

Another example is JESUS’ trial on Passover day; He was tried by the High Priest, then by the Sanhedrin, then by Pilate, then by Herod, then judgment was passed by Pilate. Part of JESUS’ judgment was the release of a criminal, Barabbas. The persistence of GOD’s adversary paid off with the death of JESUS, but the reward of salvation was for humanity.

Barabbas was released from prison even thought he deserved to be there for his crimes, he was freed from his punishment of death. JESUS was judged and killed even though He had done no crime! For the next couple of days the results looked good for Barabbas but bad for JESUS’ followers.

Then JESUS rose from the dead! Now lost humanity had a get out of eternal judgment pass, JESUS took our punishment and leads us from the bondage of sin and death into His eternal Kingdom by faith and obedience. Even Barabbas had a chance to repent and be saved.

This relates to the Church today in America because it looks like the adversary of GOD has won the day. But GOD is in control and if we, the Church, remember that GOD is in control and pray, wait and watch, we will see the Will and purpose of GOD being accomplished in America.

“Stand fast in the liberty where CHRSIT has set us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (sin).” Galatians 5:1

GOD Bless, Bob
