Word For 12/29/2021

 

“It is good for a man to bear the yoke from his youth. Let him sit alone in silence when He has laid it on him. Let him submit absolutely; there may yet be hope. Let him offer his cheek to the one who strikes it, and receive his fill of insults.” Lamentations 3:27-30 CJB

“You have heard that our fathers were told, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you not to stand up to someone who does you wrong. On the contrary, if someone hits you on the right cheek, let him hit you on the left cheek too!” Matthew 5:38-39 CJB

“Come to Me all you who are struggling and burdened, and I Will Give you Rest. Take My Yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I Am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find Rest for your souls. For My Yoke is Easy and My Burden is Light.” Matthew 11:28-30 CJB

 

Many think this passage in Matthew 11 is about rest and refreshing, but I believe it is about resting in GOD as we obey His Command to evangelize the world by being light and salt and doing the works of His Kingdom in the earth as it is in Heaven. There is an eternal rest that we will enter into but first every nation, tribe and tongue has to hear about JESUS CHRIST, their Savior! Knowing that we will be persecuted means that we have to receive our rest in GOD; our physical rest comes from our spiritual rest which comes by waiting on GOD and doing the works of His Kingdom.
