“Then JESUS, looking at him loved him and said to him, ‘One thing you lack: go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor and you will have Treasure in Heaven; and come, take up the cross and Follow Me.’” Mark 10:21
“Natural devotion may be all very well to attract us to JESUS, to make us feel His fascination, but it will never make us disciples.”
Oswald Chambers
JESUS is not looking for those who will follow Him around and enjoy His Love and Grace. He is looking for those who will follow Him to the cross, surrender all they are and have in baptism to become His Disciple. Then go in Obedience to GOD’s Will and do what He did.
“A Disciple is not above his Teacher, nor a Servant above his Master. It is enough for a Disciple that he be like his Teacher, and a Servant like his Master…” Matthew 10:24-25a
