Are You Part of The Church or a Cult?

Are You Part of The Church or a Cult?

While I am not trying to offend anyone, I am going to offend many Christians.

I have just finished watching the DVD “Occultianity” which teaches about occult practices in the Western Church.

Only 13 percent of Believing Western Christians read their Bibles regularly! This is why many Western Christians believe false or deceptive teachings.

This brings me to my favorite end times false teaching; the rapture! As any of you who know me and follow my writings know, I used to believe and teach that JESUS was going to return and rescue the true believes at the start of the Great Tribulation, at the very least JESUS would come and save the true believes at the half way point in the Great Tribulation, before it gets really bad.

The truth is that JESUS will return at the end of time and harvest the True Believers on the day the Great Tribulation ends. The scripture that is used to prove the rapture is 1 Corinthians 15:50-55 “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit The Kingdom of GOD; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?’” This implies that JESUS is going to come back at the last trumpet and then leave with the true believers for three and one half or seven years, then return for the battle of Armageddon and to establish His thousand year reign from Jerusalem. That means that JESUS’ return to earth is not really His return, more like a bus trip to pick up the Church then He returns for real later.

JESUS only returns once! It is at the last trumpet! The difference I see is that there are many things happening on the last day, most teachings only talk about the battle of Armageddon and JESUS’ reign in Jerusalem beginning. Here is how I see it; (Event 1) “Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in Heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdoms of our LORD and His CHRIST, and He shall reign forever and ever!’ And the twenty-four elders who sat before GOD on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped GOD,… (Event 2) Then the Temple of GOD was opened in Heaven, and The Ark of His Covenant was seen in His Temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail (remember these descriptions).” “Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred forty-four thousand, having His Father’s Name written on their foreheads…Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of Heaven, having the everlasting Gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth–to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people – saying with a loud voice, ‘Fear GOD and give Glory to Him, for the hour of His Judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.’ And another angel followed, saying, ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.’ Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, ‘If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of GOD, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have not rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the Saints; here are those who keep the Commandments of GOD and the Faith of JESUS. Then I heard a voice from Heaven saying to me; “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the LORD from now on. Yes”, says The SPIRIT, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” (Event 3) Then I looked, and behold, a white could, and on the cloud sat One like The Son of Man, having on His head a Golden Crown, and in His hand a Sharp Sickle. And another angel came out of The Temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, ‘Thrust in Your Sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap for the harvest of the earth is ripe.’ So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His Sickle on the earth and the earth was reaped (The rapture). (Event 4) Then another angel came out of The Temple which is in Heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the Altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, ‘Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.’ So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of GOD. And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs…Then I saw another sign in Heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of GOD is complete…Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of GOD who lives forever and ever…Then I heard a loud voice from the Temple saying to the seven angels, ‘Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of GOD on the earth.’…Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the Temple of Heaven, from The Throne, saying, ‘It is done!’ And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth (remember the descriptions of Event 2?). (Event 5) ’Let us be glad and rejoice and give glory, for the Marriage of The Lamb has come, and His Wife has made herself ready.’ And to Her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the Saints. Then he said to me, ‘Write: Blessed are those who are called to the Marriage Supper of The Lamb!’… (Event 6) Now I saw Heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He Who sat on him was called, ‘Faithful and True, and in Righteousness He Judges and makes war….And He has on His robe and on His thigh a Name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.’… (Event 7) And I saw the beast (anti-christ), the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him Who sat on the horse and against His Army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet…these two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed the Sword that proceeded from the mouth of Him Who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh… (Event 8) Then I saw an angel coming down from Heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the devil and satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast hin into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.” (We all know the rest of the events). Revelation 11:15-19; (Chapter 12 is historical about satan, Israel and CHRIST; Chapter 13 is the description of the beast [anti-christ], the false prophet and the image of the anti-christ) 14; 15; 16; (Chapters 17-19:4 describes the judgment of Babylon) 19:5-20:15

I don’t want to be a prophet of doom (I’m not a prophet) nor a bringer of bad news; the facts according to The Bible and as taught until the mid 19th century, Christians are going to go through the Great Tribulation, some will die, some will be martyred and some will make it to the end. The True Church will be under ground, the True Church has always thrived under persecution, and many will come to faith in JESUS CHRIST during the Great Tribulation.

I fear that too many Christians have been led to believe that they are going to be raptured before the Great Tribulation and when they are not they are going to lose faith and fall under satan’s power and be led to eternal damnation.

Remember the stat I quoted at the beginning, only 13 percent of Western Christians read their Bible regularly. That is why so many believe false teachings. I learned this truth because I was convicted and stared reading my Bible daily, over a period of time I started to see differences in the Scriptures than what was being taught by popular TV Teachers and Pastors. As I studied the Scriptures I realized that some were just misquoting to make a point and some were actually teaching a false doctrine. You will stand before GOD and He will judge you according to what you know and how you lived; and saying, “But, my pastor taught this.” or “The televangelist said this.” will not help you when GOD has given us His SPIRIT and His Word.

Tony's top Ten

TONY’S TOP TEN

1. The fact that God chooses to work all things for our good should cause us to feel secure.

2. Good is the operative word here; unless we can see God as good to us we will never fully appreciate Him and there will be a leak or lack in our fully trusting Him.

3. Our obedience to God’s command is the gauge of whether or not we trust Him.

4. The choice to obey God is ours; but the power to accomplish obeying God is His.

5. If we really understood this truth, then Philippians 4:13 would be an everyday reality in our life;” I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.“

6. We would understand Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.

7. As wonderful as the revelations of what we can accomplish through trusting God; there is the devastating horrors of life that come from not trusting God.

8. Without believing, trusting God, there is no power available to fight the trials and tribulations of life that everyone fall prey to.

9. God always warns us in advance of the dangers of not trusting Him.

10. But God will not choose for you; this is the one responsibility He gave to you alone.

“I have been crucified with CHRIST, it is no longer I who live, but CHRIST Lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in The Son of GOD, Who Loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience.” James 1:3

“Believe steadfastly in JESUS and all you come up against will develop your faith.”

Oswald Chambers

In the Western Church we are always looking for the “Good Life”, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they (the sheep that follow His voice) may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. I Am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd give His Life for the sheep.” John 10:10-11

Abundantly is a easy word to understand and a hard word to live. The Greek word used here is pĕrissŏs – per-is-sos’: Strong’s 4053 which is from pĕri – per-ee’; Strong’s 4012 which is based on pĕran – per-an’; Strong’s 4008. Trying to understand them all is complicated, look them up yourself. Pĕrissŏs basically means superabundant, which most Christians know and believe, but the context is not in the format that most Christians think of because we have been taught it is about the “Good Life” of ease and comfort.

In context JESUS is revealing Himself as The Good Shepherd who protects and provides for His Sheep abundantly. That means that He is leading us beside still waters to green pastors and watches over us to protect us from the wolves and other predators. That is the abundant physical life He is promising us. He also gives us His SPIRIT, His Grace and His Mercy, they are the abundance for both our physical and spiritual life.

The SPIRIT gives us council, training, wisdom, knowledge, gifts and brings forth fruit in our lives; these all require time and commitment. Grace comes when we are under attack of trials, tribulations and persecutions; mercy is for our testings.

If you’re living the “Good Life” of ease and comfort you might not be one of The Good Shepherd’s sheep!

“Am I prepared to let GOD grip me by His Power and do a work in me that is worthy of Himself?”

Oswald Chambers

A confession: I have always hated personal evangelism, the kind where you knock on strangers doors or stand around a busy part of town and try to tell people about JESUS and their need for salvation. I have done both but I always hated it. I also hated having to talk to my neighbors and co-workers about JESUS (I did not mind telling them I was a Christian, I just did not what to tell them they were sinners). That is part of my lawlessness because the only thing that every Christian is supposed to do is tell people about JESUS and their need of salvation, it’s called The Great Commission and was given to all believers by JESUS Himself.

There is so much being taught in the Church and the world today; the End Times and the rapture; the Good Life and giving to your favorite ministry, supporting (put a name in here) Ministry and all kinds of things that are not related to being saved and nothing to do with proclaiming JESUS’ soon coming and GOD’s judgment.

We are all called to not have a comfort zone but a witness zone, where we are is our witness zone, I’m not talking about Bible thumping people with their sins, but showing them that GOD Loves them and has a sin free life for them. This requires us to listen to The HOLY SPIRIT and look for those who He directs us to, even if they are out of our comfort zone.

Father, thank You for your forgiveness and restoration; thank You for the opportunity to share Your Love and Salvation with those who need it.

Harmony of the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST Part 6

 Chapter 6

Immediately JESUS made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side while He sent the multitudes away. When He had sent the multitudes away He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came He was there alone and the boat was now in the middle of the sea tossed by the waves for the wind was contrary. In the fourth watch of the night (just before dawn) JESUS went to them walking on the sea, when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea they were troubled saying, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out for fear. Immediately JESUS spoke to them, “Be of good cheer! It is I do not be afraid.” Peter said, “LORD, if it is You command me to come to You on the water.” So JESUS said, “Come.” and when Peter had climbed out of the boat he walked on the water to go to JESUS. When Peter saw that the wind was boisterous he was afraid and beginning to sink he cried out, “LORD save me!” Immediately JESUS stretched out His hand and caught him and said to him, “O you of little faith why did you doubt?”  When they got into the boat the wind ceased then those who were in the boat came and worshipped JESUS saying, “Truly You are the Son of GOD.”

When they had crossed over they came to the land of Gennesaret and anchored there. When they came out of the boat immediately the people recognized Him and ran through that whole surrounding region and began to carry about on beds those who were sick to wherever they heard He was, wherever He entered into villages, cities, or the country. They laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment and as many as touched Him were made well.

The people who were standing on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there beside the one which His disciples had entered and that JESUS had not entered the boat with His disciples but that His disciples had gone away alone. However other boats came from Tiberias near the place where they ate the bread that JESUS had given thanks for. When the people saw that JESUS was not there or His disciples they got into boats and came to Capernaum seeking JESUS. When they found Him on the other side of the sea they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You come here?” JESUS said to them, “Truthfully you seek Me not because you saw the signs but because you ate the loaves and were filled. Do not labor for the food which perishes but for the food which endures to everlasting life which the Son of Man will give you because GOD the Father has set His seal on Him.” Then they said to Him, “What shall we do that we may work the works of GOD?” JESUS answered them, “This is the work of GOD that you believe in Him whom He sent.” They said to Him, “What sign will You perform then that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do? Our fathers ate the manna in the desert as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” Then JESUS said, “Truthfully, I say to you Moses did not give you the bread from Heaven but My Father gives you the true bread from Heaven. The bread of GOD is He who comes down from Heaven and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “LORD give us this bread always.” JESUS answered, “I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. I have come down from Heaven not to do My own will but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing but should raise it up at the last day. This is the will of Him who sent Me that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life and I will raise him up at the last day.”

The Jews then complained about Him because He said, “I am the bread which came down from Heaven.” They said, “Is this not JESUS the son of Joseph whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from Heaven’?” JESUS answered them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by GOD.’ So that everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except He who is from GOD, He has seen the Father. Truly I say to you he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the Bread of Life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the Bread which comes down from Heaven that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living Bread which came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread he will live forever and the Bread that I give is My flesh which I shall give for the life of the world.” The Jews quarreled among themselves saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?” Then JESUS said, “Truthfully I say to you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day. My flesh is food indeed and My blood is drink indeed.  He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me and I in him. As the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the Bread which came down from Heaven not as your fathers ate the manna and are dead. He who eats this Bread will live forever.” These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.

Then many of His disciples when they heard this said, “This is a hard saying who can understand it?” When JESUS knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this He said to them, “Does this offend you? What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? It is the Spirit who gives life the flesh profits nothing. The Words that I speak to you are Spirit and they are Life. There are some of you who do not believe.” For JESUS knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe and who would betray Him. He said, “I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then JESUS said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” Simon Peter answered, “LORD to whom shall we go? You have the Words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that You are the CHRIST the Son of the living GOD.” JESUS said to them, “Did I not choose you the twelve and one of you is a devil?” He spoke of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve. After these things JESUS walked in Galilee for He did not want to walk in Judea because the Jews sought to kill Him.

Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes came to Him having come from Jerusalem. When they saw some of His disciples eat bread with defiled, that is with unwashed hands, they found fault. For the Pharisees and all the religious Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands in a special way holding the tradition of the elders. When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash and there are many other things which they have received and do like the washing of cups, pitchers, copper vessels and couches. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders but eat bread with unwashed hands?” JESUS answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites as it is written: ‘This people honor Me with their lips but their heart is far from Me. In vain they worship Me teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ For laying aside the commandment of GOD you hold the tradition of men the washing of pitchers and cups and many other such things.” He continued, “All too well you reject the commandment of GOD that you may keep your tradition. For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother let him be put to death.’ You say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban”’ (that is a gift to GOD), then you no longer let him do anything for his father or his mother making the word of GOD of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down and many other things you do.” When He had called the multitude to Himself He said to them, “Hear Me everyone and understand there is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. If anyone has ears to hear let him hear!”

When He had entered a house away from the crowd Peter asked Him concerning the parable. So He said, “Are you still without understanding? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him because it does not enter his heart but his stomach and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods? What comes out of a man that defiles a man. From within out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.” Then His disciples said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?” He said, “Every plant which My Heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. Let them alone they are blind leaders of the blind and if the blind leads the blind both will fall into a ditch.”

Then JESUS went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Syro-Phoenician woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him saying, “Have mercy on me O LORD, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” He did not say a word so His disciples came and urged Him saying, “Send her away for she cries out after us.” He said to her, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshiped Him saying, “LORD, help me!” He answered, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” She said, “Yes LORD, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Then JESUS said to her, “Woman great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” and her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon He came through the midst of the region of Decapolis to the Sea of Galilee. Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech and they begged Him to put His hand on him. He took him aside from the multitude and put His fingers in his ears and He spat and touched his tongue. Then looking up to heaven He sighed and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” Immediately his ears were opened and the impediment of his tongue was loosed and he spoke plainly. Then He commanded them that they should tell no one yet the more He commanded them the more widely they proclaimed it. They were astonished beyond measure saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”

Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by JESUS and he was perplexed because some said that John the Baptist had risen from the dead, some said that Elijah had appeared and others said that one of the prophets of old had risen from the dead. Herod said, “John I have beheaded so who is this of whom I hear such things?” So he tried to see him.

“But the natural man receives not the things of The SPIRIT of GOD.” 1 Corinthians 2:14

“In the Spiritual domain JESUS CHRIST demands that you risk everything you hold by common sense and leap into what He says, and immediately you do, you find that what He says fits on as solidly as common sense.”

“I beseech you therefore brethren, by the Mercies of GOD, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice.” Romans 12:1

“Stand loyal to JESUS, remembering that His Honor is at stake in your bodily life.”

Oswald Chambers

Since the world no longer has a common sense, or what is commonly considered right and wrong we as Christians need all the more to be focused on what GOD says is Right and Wrong. To be light and salt to the people of the world we must stand out in our lives as those who know GOD and represent Him in every aspect of our life.

“You Cannot Possess What You’re Not Willing To Pursue!”

“Let this mind be in you which was also in CHRIST JESUS, Who, being in the form of GOD, did not consider it robbery to be equal with GOD, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross.” Philippians 2:5-8

All of us are going through difficult times; spiritually, physically, emotionally and/or economically. Why? We don’t always know! But GOD is in control, He has not abandoned us, He is not ignoring our situation, He is waiting for us to get through our situation.

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of GOD, Who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:2-5

As hard as it gets we have to press on knowing that GOD is working His Will into our life so He can work His Will through our life.

2. Proud people don’t look for answers because they think they are the answer.

3. Humility opens our eyes to the need of God’s presence in our life.

4. Humility not only tells us we are not the answer but that we must stay humble to receive the answer we need.

5. The problem with Christians is usually not so much humility to get the answer, but staying humble after they get the answer.

6. It would be good to keep this vision alive in our minds, the difference between God’s efforts and our efforts is that His always succeeds.

7. God has this special way about Him in not only giving us what we need, but the knowledge and power to make it work for our good.

8. Don’t be discouraged by the people In your life, more than likely, God sent them as answers for many of your questions.

9. I always keep before my mind, to quit wondering how or why God does things and just be thankful that He does things.

10. I have found that the more I appreciate what God does, instead of concentrate on what He hasn’t done, the more enjoyable my relationship is.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘LORD, LORD,’ shall enter into The Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does The Will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in That Day, ‘LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast our demons in Your Name and done many wonders in Your Name?’ And then I will proclaim to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me you who practice lawlessness!’” Matthew 7:21-23

“Yet indeed I count all things loss for the excellence of the Knowledge of CHRIST JESUS my LORD, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain CHRIST, and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the Law, but that which is through Faith in CHRIST, The Righteousness which is from GOD by Faith; that I may know Him and the Power of His Resurrection, and the Fellowship of His Sufferings, being conformed to His Death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.” Philippians 3:8-11

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, bur one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, least, when I preach to others, I myself should become disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Obviously Paul, the greatest evangelist ever, considered the possibility of missing GOD’s Will and Purpose and being rejected from His Eternal Kingdom.

We all need to make sure we are not sacrificing but obeying! Paul did not consider what he suffered to obey GOD’s Call on His life a sacrifice, but a duty – a responsibility of obedience; nothing more than what GOD required of him.

P.S.

“And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of satan to buffet me, least I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the LORD three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, ‘My Grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boost in my infirmities, that the power of CHRIST may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, for CHRIST’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

How do you bow before GOD?

The Scriptures mention people bowing before GOD and His messengers; Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Gideon, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Elijah, Elisha, John to name a few. But how did they bow? Sometimes it says they lay or fell prostrate or bowed to the ground.

So how do you bow to GOD? Do you bow at the waist, on one or both knees with your face and/or hands raised or lowered, on both knees with your face to the ground with your arms extended or not, lying flat on your face with your arms extended to the sides like a cross? These are all forms of bowing that we use during prayer, worship or the physical presence of GOD.

According to 1 Samuel 15:22 bowing our heart is more important than bowing our body, “Samuel said: ‘Does The LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of The LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, to pay heed than the fat of rams.’” (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 9:13, 12:7; Mark 12:33)

“So when MESSIAH comes into the world, He says, ‘Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You prepared for Me. In whole burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not delight. Then I said, “Behold, I come to do Your Will, O GOD (in the Scroll of the Book it is written of Me)”’. After saying above, ‘Sacrifices and whole burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not desire, nor did You delight in them.’ (those which are offered according to Torah), then He said, ‘Behold, I come to do Your Will.’ He takes away the first to establish the second. By His Will we have been made holy through the offerings of the body of MESSIAH JESUS once for all.” Hebrews 10:5-10

GOD is after the bowing of our heart, mind and desires (our will) to Him, to serve Him in obedience to His Will. Yet according to the principle JESUS taught the Pharisees about tithing and mercy, don’t do the one (tithing) and leave out the other (mercy); if we only bow our body and not our will, we are like the Pharisees!

“I Am the Gate! If anyone comes in through Me, he will be saved. He will come and go and find pastor. The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy. I have come that they might have life, and have it abundantly! I Am The Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His Life for the sheep.” John 10:9-11

“Again I saw something futile under the sun: There is one who has no one else; neither son nor brother, yet there is no end to all his toil. His eyes are not content with riches. ‘So, for whom am I toiling, and depriving myself of prosperity?’ This too is meaningless – a grievous task.” Ecclesiastes 4:7-8

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in or steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick by one and look down on the other. You cannot serve GOD and money.” Matthew 7:19-20, 24

“For everything in the world – the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the boasting of life – is not from The Father but from the world. The world is passing away along with its desire, but the one who does The will of GOD abides forever.” 1 John 2:16-17

“And YESHUA told them a parable, saying, ‘The land of a certain rich man produced good crops. And he began thinking to himself, saying, “What shall I do?...And he said, “Here’s what I’ll do!”…And I’ll say to myself, “O my soul, you have plenty of good saved up for many years! So take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry.” But GOD said to Him, “You fool! Tonight your soul is being demanded back from you! And what you have prepared, whose will it be?” So it is with the one who stores up treasure for himself and is not rich in GOD.’” Luke 12:16-21

“Everyone goes about as a mere phantom. Surely they are making an uproar in vain, heaping up stuff – yet not knowing who will gather it. And now, my LORD, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.” Psalm 39:6-7

“A lover of money never has enough money, and a lover of wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is futile.” Ecclesiastes 5:10

“A laborer’s appetite works on his behalf, for his hunger drives him on.” Proverbs 16:26

Prosperity and abundance are not about possessions and comfort! Prosperity and abundance are about serving GOD’s Will in obedience for me!

Is Sin Important?

“Go And Sin No More!”

I heard a popular TV pastor say in a sermon the other day, “Don’t worry about sin!” I do not remember the context as I was so taken aback by his statement and that he repeated it with emphasis several times. He did not say it was ok to sin, but the implication of his statement was that sinning was not a big deal.

WELL! JESUS say it was a big deal, He told the people “…that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 5:20 If that is not clear enough what about “Go and sin no more.”, John 5:14, 8:11.

And what does this statement by JESUS mean, “But go and learn what this means; ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”? Matthew 9:13 See also Luke 13:1-5

“Nevertheless, I tell you the Truth…And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin…” John 16:5-12 why would The HOLY SPIRIT convict the world of sin if we did not need to worry about sin.

1 John 1:5-2:3 makes it clear that if we, as disciples, sin we have forgiveness through CHRIST.

1 John 3:4-9 makes it very clear that if we are disciples of JESUS we do not sin!

Sin is important and we are to repent of it and avoid it!

Now we are not to judge people by their sin, but we are to convict them of sin by presenting JESUS as the Son of GOD who came to take away the sins of people so that they could be saved from eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire.

I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in Love, may have strength to grasp with all the Saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know the Love of MESSIAH which surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled up with all the fullness of GOD.” Ephesians 3:16-19

“You’re Never Gonna Outgrow Warfare – You Simply Must Learn Too Fight Spiritually – There Are No Wimps in GOD’s Army!”

Ephesians 6:10-13 “A FINAL Word: Be STRONG in The LORD and in HIS Mighty POWER. Put on ALL of GOD’s Armor so that You will be able to STAND FIRM Against ALL Strategies of the devil. For We are NOT Fighting against FLESH AND BLOOD enemies, but AGAINST evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, PUT ON Every PIECE of GOD’s Armor so that You will be able to RESIST the enemy in the Time of evil. Then after the BATTLE You will STILL be STANDING FIRM.”

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against GOD; for it is not subject to the Law of GOD, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please GOD.” Romans 8:6-8

Some Things Never Change

“Behold, I lay in Zion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.” Romans 9:33 (Isaiah 8:14, 28:16)

“People do not want to be devoted to JESUS, but only to the cause He started. JESUS CHRIST is a source of deep offence to the educated mind of today.”

Oswald Chambers (This was written sometime before 1917)

“Stop Watering Things That Were Never Meant To Grow In Your Life!”

Romans 6:16 “Don’t You REALIZE that You BECOME a SLAVE of WHATEVER You CHOOSE to OBEY? You can be a SLAVE to Sin, which LEADS to Death, or You can CHOOSE to Obey GOD, which LEADS to RIGHTEOUS Living.”

“If You Hold On To Your History, You Do It At The Expense Of Your Destiny In The LORD!”

Be Challenged, Pastor Bob Harris

“Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.” Luke 6:36

So JESUS CHRIST is a stumblingstone and an offence to those who cannot just believe as a child. The things that we give ourself to will destroy us or guide us to righteous living that is obedient to GOD. We are to be merciful to others because GOD is merciful to us (John 3:16-17, Ephesians 4:32, 1 John 3:16).
