True
Worship by Sophia Leeper
The priests in the Bible were not glorified. You didn’t hear “oh you offer
sacrifice in such an amazing way!” It was not about them in any way. Yes, the
Lord used them and they had a very important job, but it was all for the glory
of God - not the priests.
Leviticus 10:3 says: “And Moses said to Aaron, ‘This is what the Lord
spoke, saying: By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before
all the people I must be glorified.’”
Our job as worshipers is to be priests to the Lord, to bring a holy
sacrifice, and to bring it the right way. We can’t just sing praises to the
Lord on Sunday - our lifestyle needs to be one of someone who is obedient to
the Lord, set apart, pure and sanctified, like the Lord called the Israelites
to be.
Leviticus 20:26 says: “You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am
holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.”
Our goal cannot be to seek fame or fortune, but only that Jesus would be
glorified. Worship is obedience, so as worship leaders, we need to lead others
to obey the Lord; to guide others to placing their eyes on Jesus, to turn the
focus away from you or the team, and to focus on loving Yeshua.
“If you love me, you will obey my commandments” John 14:15
