Praying the promises of God.
Pastor Tony Kim
IF THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE WHO NEEDS A BREAKTHROUGH, NEEDS A VICTORY, NEEDS CONFIDENCE IN GOD TO COME THROUGH…THIS IS FOR YOU!
Of all the messages I have ever taught, this is the most significant and asked the most. Let’s talk about my favorite subjects here. Breakthrough, trump, victories; guaranteed by God and His word.
2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
Check this out. God has planned victory for you. Not just one but a life full of them. This scripture says God is at work, before you were born, even when you were a sinner, since you have become a believer and the rest of your life on this planet, causing us to triumph IN HIM.
Paul says it this way in Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” This is also Paul’s thought earlier in 8:28 where he declares, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Then once more in 1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
So let me get these promises that God has made to me in order so I can see them for what they are.
1) 2 Corinthians 2:14 God is always causing us to triumph in Christ.
2) Romans 8:37 God has (past tense) made us more than conquerors through Christ.
3) Romans 8:28 We know, did you get that, not wonder or we will see, WE KNOW! that all things are working together for our good.
4) 1 John 4:4 Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.
There are so many other promises we could include, but these should be enough to get your confidence and encouragement motor Revving at full potential, it did mine.
So what is missing? Why isn’t this happening in my life right now? What am I missing? Matthew 7:7, 8 says “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
I know you say you have, but I assure you that these verses written in a different language and culture assume more than permission but a declaration.
Let me help you with this. Every morning, when I get up and reach my office there is a list of these scriptures taped to my desk. As I talk to God I declare each one of these promises. I say,
“Thank You God, You are always causing me to triumph in whatever is prepared for me this day.
Thank You God, You have created me in Christ Jesus not just to conquer, but be more than a conqueror in whatever You give me to do.
Thank You, God,that You are causing everything I go through today to happen for my benefit whether I see it or not.
Thank You, God, that the Christ in me is greater than anything that can happen to me.”
Then I end my prayer with,”Thank You God, because You Promised me these things, I am going to take You at your word and fully expect to see them happening in my life today . THANK YOU GOD!”
This works well for me, I hope it will for you.
