The World Waits for a Generation Whose Spirits Burn for the Saving
of Souls
Can you imagine the body of Christ ignited and searing to simply tell people
about Jesus Christ? What if the church burned for evangelism, populating heaven
at a rapid pace with souls snatched from the fiery grips of hell?
I believe the earth awaits the rise of a generation that burns for souls once
again. Every great revival that I have studied was marked by soul-winning, and
as I read the New Testament, I can’t seem to find anybody within the fivefold
ministry or any disciple of Jesus Christ who was so anointed that they
graduated from soul-winning.
However, evangelism today seems to be one of the most resisted acts on the
earth. The greatest miracle on the planet is the moment when God’s quickening
power shifts the countenance of mankind, and they pass from spiritual death to
life by the salvation of the Lord. I believe in the miraculous power of God,
having witnessed great miracles, signs, and wonders where God has healed many
bodies.
With that said, it is imperative we understand that a person can still get into
heaven with a natural disease in their body, but they cannot get into heaven
bound by the spiritual disease called sin. What can wash away my sins? Nothing
but the blood of Jesus!
Isaiah 43:25 says, “I,
even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and will not
remember your sins.”
Ephesians 1:7 says, “In
Him we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins according
to the riches of His grace.”
1 John 1:9 says, “If
we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
A person’s greatest calling is to surrender their heart to Jesus Christ. Jesus
is either Lord of all or He is not Lord at all in a person’s life. The
salvation of every lost man we encounter is within our grasp and contingent
upon our willingness to obey the command of the Great Commission to share the
Gospel.
Mark 16:15 says, “He
said to them, ‘Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every
creature.’”
Will you be the voice that interrupts people’s lives of sin by testifying about
what Jesus Christ has done in your life? Will you be the walking, living,
breathing advertisement of the kingdom of heaven? God has called you to trumpet
the sound that there is not a sin people can get themselves into out of which
the blood of Jesus Christ cannot walk them!
As a blood-bought, Spirit-filled believer, will you simply tell the lost man
that you once were spiritually blind, but now you see; you were spiritually
lost, but you have been found by Jesus; you were dead in all of your trespasses
and sins, but now you have been made alive by the shed blood of Jesus Christ?
When the Holy Spirit
comes upon you, the fire of evangelism must dwell inside of you!
Acts 1:8 says, “But
you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you shall be
My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the
earth.”
The word “witness” means to be a martyr. You may not have to physically die for
the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but being a witness certainly means that you must
be willing. All believers are called to live a sacrificial life as they die
daily to their flesh, becoming a personal eyewitness of God’s redemptive power,
bearing the testimony of Jesus Christ in the earth.
