What Does GOD Expect Of Me?
Micah 6:6-8 “With what shall I come before ADONAI? With what
shall I bow myself before GOD on high? Shall I present Him with burnt offering,
with year old calves? Will ADONAI be pleased with thousands of rams, with
hordes of rivers of oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the
fruit of my belly for the sin of my soul? He has told you, humanity, what is
good, and what ADONAI is seeking from you: Only to practice justice, to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with your GOD.”
Deuteronomy 10:12-13 “SO now, O Israel, what does ADONAI your
GOD require of you, but to fear ADONAI your GOD, to walk in All His Ways and to
Love Him, and to Serve ADONAI your GOD with all your heart and with all your
soul, to keep the Mitzvot (Commands) of ADONAI and His Statutes that I am
commanding you today, for your own good!”
But don’t be religious: Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you, Torah
scholars and Pharisees, hypocrites! You tithe mint and dill and cumin, yet you
have neglected the weightier matters of Torah – Justice and Mercy and
Faithfulness. It is necessary to do these things without neglecting the others.”
Romans 2:1 “Therefore you are without excuse, O man – everyone of you who is
judging. For by whatever you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who
judge practice the same things.” study Matthew 6:14-15 and 7:1-5.
When things are bad this is the common prayer quoted: 2 Chronicles
7:14 “When My People, over whom My Name is Called, Humble themselves and Pray
and Seek My face and turn from their evil ways, then I Will hear from Heaven
and Will Forgive their sin and Will Heal their land.”
And God does not answer because we forget to understand verse
13: “If I shut up heaven that there is no rain, or if I command locust to
devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My People,” this is because we
have sinned!
So we don’t wind up in need of the 2 Chronicles 7:14 prayer;
Isaiah 55:6: “Seek ADONAI while He may be found, call on Him while He is near.”
It is possible to miss GOD, to sin too long before calling out for forgiveness;
study Proverbs 1:20-33 and Romans 1:18-32
Matthew 6:24-34 “
JESUS taught us the same thing! We don’t have to worry about
tomorrow or the things we need in life if we put GOD first in our life. From
Adam to JESUS’ Millennial Reign over the earth, GOD’s call to humanity has
always been to seek Him above everyone and everything else! AMEN!
