Swallowing A Camel!

Swallowing A Camel!

Matthew 23:24 “Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!” is in the middle of JESUS’ woes to the Scribes and Pharisees for their hypocritical practice of The Torah; verses one through thirty-six.

This is pure hyperbole just like, “And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into Heaven.” Matthew 19:24

I do not understand why there is so much controversy in the Church about this verse. JESUS had just spoken to a rich young man who did not want to give up his riches so he could have eternal life; that was his question to JESUS in verse sixteen, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” He just wanted to earn his way in.

Verses 21-24 “ JESUS said to him, ‘If you want to be perfect, go sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come follow Me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Then JESUS said to His disciples, ‘Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter The Kingdom of Heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into Heaven.”

JESUS explains His statement so there should be no question about what He meant, it is impossible for a worldly rich man to be saved, because he cannot give up his wealth and prestige.

Just like Matthew 23:24, JESUS is not saying that the Pharisees can swallow camels; and no one ever tries to teach there is some alternative meaning for straining gnats and swallowing camels. Verses one through thirty-six are the explanation for His hyperbolic statement; there is no hope for them because, “But all their works they do to be seen by men. …” 23:5.

This passage is in Matthew 19:16-30, but most who try to make an alternative teaching out of this saying stop at verse twenty-six, where JESUS says, “…With men this is impossible, but with GOD all things are possible.”

But the disciples understood the greater context of JESUS’ message; “Then Peter answered and said to Him, ‘See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?’ So JESUS said to them, ‘Assuredly I say to you, that in The Regeneration, When The Son of Man Sits on The Throne of His Glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My Name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.’” Matthew 19:27-36

The point of both of these statements is not an impossible task set before us! It is not some mystery we have to unravel! It is being obedient to the Will and Purpose of GOD for our life. GOD can and does what He wants with our life and we have to be willing to give up everything in this world to obey.

Hebrews Chapter 10

Hebrews Chapter 10

:1-4 For The Law, having a shadow of the Good things to come (Colossians 2:16-17), and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year after year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshippers, once purified (cleansed), would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins (Micah 6:6-8).

:5-7 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no Pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold I have come – in the volume of The book it is written of Me – to do Your Will, O GOD.’” (Psalm 40:6-8)

:8-11 Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had Pleasure in them” (which are offered according to The Law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your Will, O GOD.” He takes away the first so that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified (John 17:18-19) through the offering of the Body of JESUS CHRIST once for all.  And every priest stands ministering daily and offering daily the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins (Hebrews 9:11-14; 1 John 1:5-10).

:12-14 But This Man after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down the at the right hand of GOD (Ephesians 1:15-23), from that time, waiting till His enemies are made His footstool(Psalm 110:1-2). For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified (set apart) (1 Corinthians 6:8-11),

:15-18 But The Holy SPIRIT also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, “This is the Covenant that I will make with them after those days, says The LORD: I will put My Laws in their hearts, and in their minds I will write Them.” Then He adds, “Their sin and their lawless deeds I will remember no more. (Jeremiah 31:31-34)” For now where there is remission (forgiveness) of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

:19-23 Therefore, brethren, having boldness (confidence) to enter The Holiest by the Blood of JESUS (Ephesians 2:14-18, 3:11-12), by a new and Living Way (John 14:4-6) which He consecrated for us, through the Veil, that is His flesh (Hebrews 9:11-12), and having a High Priest over The House of GOD, let us draw near with a True heart in fill assurance of Faith, having our hearts sprinkled from evil conscience and our bodies washed with Pure Water. Let us hold fast the confession of our Hope without wavering, for He Who Promised is Faithful (1 Corinthians 1:9, 10:13).

:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up Love and Good Works, not forsaking  the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another (1 Corinthians 14:26, and so much the more as you see The Day approaching (1 Thessalonians 5:1-2…11).

:26-27 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the Truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries (Zephaniah 1:17-18; 2 Peter 2:18-22).

:28-31 Anyone who rejected Moses’ Law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses (Deuteronomy 17:2-7). Of how much worse punishment do you suppose will he be thought worthy who has trampled The Son of GOD underfoot, counted the Blood of the Covenant by which he was Sanctified a common thing, and insulted The SPIRIT of Grace (Matthew 12:31-32)? For we know Him Who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I Will repay,” says The LORD. And Again, “The LORD Will Judge His People (Deuteronomy 32:35-36).” It Is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of The Living GOD (Luke 12:4-5)!

:32-34 But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated (enlightened), you endured a great struggle with sufferings (Galatians 3:1-4): partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations (1 Corinthians 4:9), and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; for you had compassion on me in my chains (those who had been imprisoned) (Philippians 1:3-7) , and joyfully accepted the plundering of your good (possessions), knowing that you have a better and more enduring possession for yourselves in Heaven (Matthew 5:10-12, 6:19-21).

:35-38 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance(Luke 21:17-19; Revelation 21:7), so that after you have done The Will of GOD, you may receive The Promise (Luke 18:7-8; Colossians 3:23-25): “For yet a little while, and He Who (or that which) is coming will come and will not tarry (delay). Now the Just (My Just One) shall live by Faith (Habakkuk 2:3-4); but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him (Matthew 10:37-39; Luke 9:61-62).”

:39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition (destruction), but of those who believe in the Saving of the soul (Romans 1:16; Galatians 5:1).

Hebrews Chapter 9

Hebrews Chapter 9

:1-5 Then indeed, even the first  covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sanctuary. For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the Lampstand, the Table, and the Showbread, which is called the Sanctuary (Holy Place) Exodus 25:8; and behind the second veil (Exodus 26:31-35, 40:3), the part of the Tabernacle which is called The Holiest of All, which had the Golden Censer (Leviticus 16:12) and the Ark (Exodus 25:10) of the Covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the Golden Pot (Exodus 16:33) that had the Manna, Aaron’s Rod (Numbers 17:1-10) that budded, and the Tablets of The Covenant (Exodus 25:16, 34:29); and above it were the Cherubim of Glory (Leviticus 16:2) overshadowing the Mercy Seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.

:6-10 Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the Tabernacle, preforming the services (Numbers 18:2-6, 28:3). But into the second part the high Priest went along once a year (Exodus 30:10), not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people’s sins (Leviticus 9:7, 16:6) committed in ignorance; The Holy SPIRIT indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest (John 14:6) while the first Tabernacle was still standing. It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience–concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of Reformation (Hebrews 7:25-28; Number 19:7).

:11-12 But Christ came as High Priest of the Good Things that have come, with the Greater and more Perfect Tabernacle not made with hands, that is not of this creation! Not with the blood of goats and claves (Psalm 40:6; Hosea 6:6), but with His Own Blood (Ephesians 1:7-10) He entered The Most Holy Place once for all (Mark 15:37-38), having obtained Eternal Redemption (John 17:3; Romans 5:20-21.

:13-14 For if the blood of bulls and goats (Leviticus 16:14-15) and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean (Numbers 19:2), sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the Blood of Christ, Who through the Eternal SPIRIT offered Himself without spot to GOD, cleanse your conscience (1 John 1:7-9) from dead works (Galatians 2:15-16) to serve The Living GOD (Matthew 20:27-28; John 13:12-17)?

:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of The New Covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgression under the first Covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the Eternal Inheritance (Romans 3:21-26).

:16-22 For where there is a testament there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. Therefore not even the first Covenant was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to The Law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which GOD has commanded you (Exodus 24:3-8).” Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the Tabernacle and all the vessels of the Ministry (Exodus 29:12, 36). And according to the Law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (Leviticus 17:11).

:23-26 Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in Heaven should be purified with these (blood of animals), but the Heavenly things themselves with a better sacrifice than these (Hebrews 7:27-28). For Christ has not entered the Holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into Heaven itself (Hebrews 8:1-2), now to appear in the presence of GOD for us (Romans 8:34); not that He should offer himself often, as the high Priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another – He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

:27-28 And as it is appointed for men to die once (Genesis 3:19; Revelation 20:11-15), but after this the Judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many (Isaiah 53:12; 1 Peter 2:24). To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time apart from sin, for salvation (John 14:1-4, 18; 1 Peter 1:3-5).

You Can Sit Next To Me At Church by Unknown

You Can Sit Next To Me At Church!

By Unknown

You got hammered at the bar on Saturday but came to church on Sunday….

You can sit with me, you’re right where you need to be.

You’re a drug addict but came to church on Sunday….

You can sit with me, you’re right where you need to be.

You’re divorced and the last church you attended condemned you for it….

You can sit me, you’re right where you need to be.

You’ve had an abortion and it’s slowly eating away at your heart but you came to church on Sunday….

You can sit with me, you’re right where you need to be.

You’ve been unfaithful to your spouse but came to church on Sunday….

You can sit with me, you’re right where you need to be.

Here’s the thing, people don’t come to church on Sunday for you to sit in the pew and quietly judge them because you feel that you’re somehow better than them!

People come to church because in their deepest, darkest, most painful moments they heard about a man named Jesus that could save their soul and they’d like to know him!

The man that just snorted cocaine off his kitchen table isn’t a bigger sinner than you who told your boss a lie on Monday so you could leave work early.

The woman that had an abortion 10 years ago isn’t a bigger sinner than you who flipped a man off in traffic last week because he cut you off.

The drunk man lying on the barroom floor isn’t a bigger sinner than you who occasionally has too much to drink at home in private.

The woman that just got caught cheating on her husband isn’t a bigger sinner than you who had sex with your now husband before you were married.

Stop judging others because their sin is different than yours!

Romans 3:23-24 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

There isn’t a person in this world too bad, too broken, too mean, or too damaged for Jesus to save.

Romans 10:13 says “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

The Watcher And The seeker by Suleman Javed

The Watcher And The Seeker

By Suleman Javed

"The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God." Psalm 14:2 God perfectly knows our thoughts, actions, desires, and passions. It is in His heart to be involved in His creation. He is never distant and unconcerned but constantly watching over us with righteousness, love, and care. Seeking God is about intentionally dedicating time to commune with Him in prayer, knowing Him more by reading and meditating on Scripture, enjoying His presence in worship, and applying His teachings in how we live. It needs a deliberate and sincere discipline to pursue Him.

Beloved, knowing that God constantly watches over us and pursues us, we must seek Him with the desire to build an intimate relationship with Him and allow that to shape the way we live. It is by wholeheartedly pursuing God that we grow in spiritual maturity. It is by living to please Him that we find true and lasting happiness. And it is by putting Him above all our priorities that we find true value and purpose in life! Hallelujah!

Bible Promises?

Bible Promises?

For those Christians who live by the promises of GOD, go back and read them in context! I heard Televangelist and Pastor Jim Bakker tell his listeners to throw away their Scripture Promise Boxes; and I agree, if you only read the promise and not the context you will most likely not get the promise. For example, “All things work together for good.”, sometimes they quote, “All things work together for the good of those who love GOD.” But the Scripture is, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who Love GOD, to those who are The called according to His Purpose.” Romans 8:21 NKJV

So just taking that verse as a whole statement, it says, “And (that means everything that was before this sentence) we know that all things (good and bad) work together for good (yea) to those who love GOD (Opps – study 1 John 4 if you want to know what that means), to those who are The Called (study Romans 12 to understand what that means) according to His (GOD’s) Purpose (not our desire or understanding of GOD’s Purpose – the Purpose of every person who claims to be a Christian is Mark 4:21-25; Mark 8:34-38; John 8:31-32; Mark 16:14-18).”; that’s just the context of this sentence!

Now the context of Paul’s whole statement is Romans 8:18-39, and actually the whole letter to the Romans. This is why you should not except a promise based on a sentence or short passage of scripture! Study the context; who wrote it, to whom was it written, why was it written (Most Bibles have this information at the beginning of each Book, some are better than others.); then you will begin to understand how it applies to your life. It is good to have a couple of different translations of the Bible for comparison.

Psalm 119:65-72

Psalm 119:65-72

Psalm 119 is about The Word of GOD, almost every sentence in the 176 verses is about GOD’s Word. This section represented by the Hebrew letter Tet is verses 65-72.

:67 “Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now I keep Your Word.”

:71 “It is Good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your Statutes.”

So what is the Psalmist saying here? That after he went astray (sinned) he was afflicted by GOD; then he repented and started obeying GOD’s Word! The affliction was Good for Him to keep him in GOD’s Word.

“You have dealt well with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your Word. Teach me Good Judgment and Knowledge, for I believe Your Commandments. Before I was afflicted  I went astray, but now I keep Your Word. You are Good and do Good; teach me Your Statutes. The proud have smeared me with a lie, but I will keep your Precepts with my whole heart. Their heart is insensible, but I delight in Your Law. It is Good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes. The Law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of coins of gold and silver.” NKJV

In context that is exactly what the Psalmist is saying. GOD afflicts us to draw us to Himself and He afflicts us to keep us on the straight and difficult road of life. JESUS said, “Do not think that I came to bring Peace on earth. I did not come to bring Peace but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, and a man’s enemies will be those of his own household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. He who does not take his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 10:34-39

If you do not read The Bible for yourself than you will believe anything someone else tells you that The Bible says, even if it is wrong. That could cost you your Salvation!

It is important for us to read and study our Bible. It is important for us to share what we learn with other Christians and non-Christians; discussing what we learn from The Bible causes us to reflect on what we are learning from The Bible and to seek GOD so that we know we are telling The Truth about GOD and His Kingdom.

GOD's Memorial Name!

GOD’s Memorial Name!

Do you Think About GOD?

Hosea 12:5 “Even The LORD GOD of hosts, The LORD is His Memorial.” KJV

Hosea 12:5 “That is, The LORD GOD of hosts. The LORD is His Memorial Name.” NKJV

Hosea 12:5(6) “ADONAI ELOHEI-Tzva’ot; ADONAI is His Name!” CJB

Hosea 12:5(6) “Even ADONAI ELOHEI-Tzva’ot–ADONAI is His Memorial Name.” TLV

*LORD = Yehôvâh from hâyâh compilation of Yâhh and Yehôvîh; the self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national Name of GOD: Jehovah, the Lord.

*LORD = ’Ä‚dônây an emphatic form of ’âdôwn or ’âdôn; the Lord (used as a proper name of GOD only):-(my) Lord.

Do you think about GOD daily? I do not mean “GOD, Help Me!”, “Father, Heal Me!”, even “GOD Bless Israel!”. Those are types of prayers not thoughts, whether you think them in your head or say them out loud, they are prayers to GOD; not thoughts about GOD.

The Hebrews so reverenced GOD’s Name that they feared misusing it so they stopped using it. +GOD’s Hebrew Name, ADONAI, is a tetragrammaton of the Hebrew letters Yud-Heh-Vav-Heh (YHVH) rendered in English as Yahweh or Jehovah, and these are rendered as LORD.

So, do you think about GOD’s Name or do you just use it? Most of us Christians before we were born again used GOD’s name in anger and as a curse. While we have changed the method of how we use GOD’s Name, we still just use His Name; when we want to get something from Him or as a salutation to others. But we do not actually usually use GOD’s Name, we usually use His Title, GOD.

*GOD = ’Ä•lôhiym plural of ’Ä•lôwahh, ’Ä•lôahh; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates) and sometimes as a superlative:-angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess,, ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.

*GOD = ’êl from ’Êîyâh or Êlîyâhûw; strength; as adjective mighty; especially the Almighty (but used also of any deity):-God (god), X godly, X great, idol, might (-y one), power, strong. Compare names in “-el.” Such as Beth-el.

When the religious Hebrews speak or think GOD’s Name, ADONAI, they understand Who He is by His Name: The Self-existent, Eternal One! The One Who created everything that exists. The Bible teaches us that ADONAI is Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent. That means that He is all knowing, that means there is nothing hidden from Him, He sees all, hears all and understands all. That He is All Powerful, there is nothing or no being that is stronger or mightier than He, or that can out do Him in anything. That He is everywhere at all times, since everything exists within Him He is always all around it, since everything exists for Him He is always within it.

So GOD’s Name is not GOD, He is GOD, The Only, True and Living GOD! His Name is YHVH (as best we know). It does not matter if we call Him GOD, Father or LORD, but his Name is I AM, The Self Existing One “Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh” (“I am/will be what I am/will be”).

GOD said to Moshe, “Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh” (“I am/will be what I am/ will be”), and added, “Here is what to say to the people of Isra’el: ‘Ehyeh (I am or I will be) has sent me to you.’” GOD said further to Moshe, “Say this to the people of Isra’el: ‘Yud-Heh-Vav-Heh {ADONAI}, The GOD of your fathers, The GOD of Avraham, The GOD of Yitz’chak and The GOD of Ya‘akov, has sent me to you.’ This is My Name forever; this is how I am to be remembered generation after generation.” Exodus 3:14-15 CJB

Hebrews Chapter 8

Hebrews Chapter 8

:1-2 Now this is the point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest Who is seated at the right hand of The Throne of The Majesty in the Heavens (Colossians 3:1-2), a Minister of The Sanctuary and The true Tabernacle which The LORD erected, and not man (Matthew 20:25-28, John 13:12-17, Romans 8:26-28, Hebrews 7:25, 1 John 2:1-2).

:3-5 For every High Priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that This One also have something to offer (2 Corinthians 5:18-21, Hebrews 7:25-27). For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law, who serve the copy and shadow of the Heavenly things (Hebrews 10:1), as Moses was Divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He (GOD) said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” (Exodus 25:40).

:6 But now He has obtained a more Excellent Ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a Better Covenant (Hebrews 9:13-15), which was established on Better Promises (Hebrews 10:15-17).

:7-9 For if that first Covenant had been faultless (Exodus19:4-6), then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says The LORD, when I will make a New Covenant with the House of Israel and with the House of Judah (Jeremiah 31:31-34, Malachi 3:1, Luke 22:19-20)–not according to the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead the out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them (Isaiah 63:7-10, Proverbs 1:20-33), says The LORD.”

:10 “For this is the Covenant that I will make with the House of Israel after those days, says The LORD: I will put My Laws in their mind (2 Timothy 1:7) and write them on their hearts (Jeremiah 24:7); and I will be their GOD, and they shall be My People (Luke 1:12-17).”

:11 “None of them shall teach (Isaiah 54:13) his neighbor, and his brother, saying, ‘Know The LORD,’ for all shall know Me (John 14:16-17), from the least of them to the greatest of them.”

:12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins, and their lawless deeds I will remember no more (Psalm 103:11-14, Romans 11:26-27).”

:13 In that He says, “A New Covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away (2 Corinthians 5:17, Revelation 21:1-2).

No Where To Hide!

No Where To Hide!

“The earth is The LORD’s and all its fulness, the world and those who dwell therein!” Psalm 24:1

“O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and rising up; You understand my thoughts afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. You have enclosed me behind and before and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. Where can I go from Your SPIRIT? Or where can I flee from Your Presence? If I ascend into Heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness shall cover me,’ even the night shall be light about me; indeed, the darkness is not dark to You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.” Psalm 139:1-12

“I saw The LORD standing by the Altar and He said: ‘Strike the Capitals of the pillars, that the thresholds may shake, and break them on the heads of them all (study Amos 8). I will slay the last of them with the sword. He who flees from them shall not get away, and he who escapes from them shall not be delivered. Though they dig into hell, from there My hand shall take them: thought they climb up to Heaven, from there I will bring them down; and though they hide themselves on top of Carmel, from there I will search and take them; though they hide from My sight at the bottom of the sea, from there I will command the serpent and it shall bite them; though they go into captivity before their enemies, from there I will command the sword, and it will slay them. I will set My eyes on them for harm and not good.’” Amos 9:1-4

There are two scenarios here; first the Psalmist who understands the awesomeness of GOD and recognizes there is nothing hidden from Him; second GOD declares there is nowhere that people can hide from Him!

Which group are you in? Those who recognize GOD’s Sovereignty or those trying to hide from GOD’s Judgment?

Hebrews Chapter 7

Hebrews Chapter 7

:1-4 For this Melchizedek, King of Salem, Priest of The Most High GOD, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and Blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “King of righteousness,” and then King of Salem, meaning “King of Peace.” Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of GOD, remains a Priest continually. Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the Patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils.

Genesis 14:18-20 “Then Melchizedek King of Salem brought out bread and wine, he was the Priest of GOD Most High. He blessed him and said: ‘Blessed be Abram of GOD Most High, Possessor of Heaven and earth; and Blessed Be GOD Most High, Who has Delivered your enemies into your hand.’ Abram gave him a tithe of all.” (Study Genesis 14; Psalm 110)

:5 Indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the Law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham (Numbers 18:21-32);

:6 but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. Genesis 17:1-2 “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, The LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I Am Almighty GOD; walk before Me and be Blameless; and I Will make My Covenant between Me and you, and Will multiply you exceedingly.’” (Study Genesis 17)

:7-10 Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives (Hebrews 5:6, 6:20). Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.

:11-12 Therefore if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received The Law), what further need was there that another Priest should arise according to the Order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the Order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of The Law.

Matthew 5:17-20, “Do not think that I came to destroy The Law or the Prophets, I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” Which JESUS did on the cross, John 19:30 “So when JESUS had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ and bowing his head He gave up his SPIRIT.” (Study Matthew 5:17-20, 1 Peter 1:22-25)

:13-14 For He of Whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has officiated at The altar. For it is evident that our LORD arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood. Micah 5:2 “But you Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me, The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from Everlasting.” (Study Matthew 1:1-17)

:15-17 It is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another Priest Who has come, not according to The Law of a fleshly commandment, but according to The Power of an Endless Life. For He Testifies: “Yor are a Priest forever according to the Order of Melchizedek.” Here Paul is reiterating what he said already, that CHIRST is the last High Priest in the Eternal Order of Melchizedek.

:18-19 For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former Commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the Law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better Hope, through which we draw near to GOD (Romans 8:1-4). (Study Romans 8:1-11, Galatians 3:10-18)

:20-22 And in as much as He was not made Priest without an oath (for they have become priests without an oath (Exodus 28:1 and Exodus 29 they were appointed by GOD and cleaned by the blood of animals), but He with an oath to Him Who said to Him: “The LORD has sworn and will not relent, ‘You are a Priest Forever according to the Order of Melchizedek’”) (Psalm 110:4), by so much more JESUS has become a surety (guarantee) of a better Covenant (Ephesians 1:7-11).

:23 Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.

:24 But He (JESUS) because He continues Forever, has an unchangeable Priesthood. “JESUS CHRIST is the same yesterday, today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8.

:25 Therefore He is also able to Save to the uttermost (completely or Forever) those who come to GOD through Him (John 14:6, 17:3), since He Always Lives to make intercession for them (Romans 8:33-34).

:26 For such a High Priest was fitting for us, Who is Holy, Harmless (Innocent), Undefiled, Separate from sinners, and has become higher than the Heavens (Ephesians 1:15-23);

:27 Who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices (Leviticus 9:7, 16:6), first for His Own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did Once for all when He Offered up Himself.

:28 For the Law appoints as high priests men who have weaknesses, but The Word of The Oath, which came after The Law, appoints The Son Who has been appointed forever (Revelation 22:12-17).

Prayer For America by Benjamin Franklin

Prayer For America

By Benjamin Franklin

Every July 4th, Americans celebrate being in a free, independent country. Yet many important events occurred in the years following 1776 to shape how we were to be free. One such event took place 11 years later. Delegates were working to craft what would become our Constitution, but progress was slow. That's when 81-year-old Benjamin Franklin introduced a motion for daily prayer. In it, he stated:

We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that "except the Lord build the House they labour in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better, than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages.

The delegates were there because the current state of the nation under the Articles of Confederation was not satisfactory. As they sought to improve how things were done, Franklin used Scripture to remind them Who they needed to look to first.

As we seek improvements in our country today, let's continue looking to God and His Word. Here are some ways you can do that today:
