Repentance!
In
Luke 3:1-14 John Defines Repentance!
“John went into all the region around
the Jordan, Preaching a Baptism of Repentance for the Remission of sins,
(Baptism is the immersion into water to symbolize the washing away of sins to
those who ask GOD for Forgiveness of their sins. Repentance is the lifestyle of
stopping sinning and starting to Live Righteous before GOD.)
Then John said to the multitudes
that came out to be baptized by him, ‘Brood of vipers! (Genesis 3:1) Who warned
you (Ezekiel 3:17-21; 1 Thessalonians 5:14) to flee from the wrath to come? (Psalm 2:1-6; Romans
1:18-21)
Therefore bear fruits (Proverbs 12:12-14;
Matthew 7:15-20) worthy of repentance (2 Chronicles 7:13-14; 2 Corinthians
7:8-12) and do not begin to say to yourselves, “We have Abraham as our father.”
For I say to you that GOD is able to raise up children to Abraham from these
stones. (Luke 19:37-40; 1 Peter 2:4-8)
And even now the axe is laid to
the root of the trees. (Matthew 3:10, 7:15-20) Therefore every tree which does
not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Psalm 37:9; Proverbs
2:22; John 15:5-6) Study JESUS’ Woes, Matthew
11:21, 18:7, 23:13-29, 26:24; Luke 6:24-26, 10:13, 11:42-52, 17:1, 22:22 (yes
some of them are duplicates.)
So the people asked him, saying,
“What shall we do then?” He answered and said to them (Repent), “He who has two
tunics, let him give to him who has none; (Matthew 5:40) and he who has food,
let his do likewise.” (Isaiah 58:6-7; James 2:15-16)
Then the tax collectors also came
to be baptized and said to him, “Teacher what shall we do?” So he said to them,
“Collect no more than what is appointed for you.” (Leviticus 25:35-38; 1
Timothy 3:2-3)
Likewise the solders (Not Roman)
asked him, saying, “What shall we do?” So he said to them, “Do not shake down
for money or accuse falsely and be content with your wages.”’” (Exodus 20:13-17;
Deuteronomy 16:19; Romans 13:8-10)
