Do You Have Ears To Hear?

Do You Have Ears To Hear?

Mark 4:9, (read 4:1-8) “And He said to them, ‘He who has ears to hear let him hear!,’” Mark 4:23 (read 4:21-25) “If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”

JESUS said this 16 times in The Gospels and Revelation. Matthew 10:27, 11:15, 13:43; Mark 7:16; 8:18; Luke 9:44, 14:35; Revelation 2:7, 11, 17; 3:6, 13, 22; 13:9.

It is also found in The First Covenant: Deuteronomy 5:1, 29:4, 31:28-30, 32:44!, Josuah 20:4, Judges 7:3, 9:2-3, 17:2, 1 Samuel 3:11, 11:4, 2 Samuel 7:22; 2 Chronicle 7:15, Job 33:16, 36:15; Psalm 44:1, 115:6, 130:2, 135:17; Proverbs 23:12; Isaiah 6:10, 22:14, 30:21, 32:3, 35:5, 43:8, 64:4, 65:17 (1 Corinthians 2:9).

How Do You Live For CHRIST?

How Do You Live For CHRIST?

This is a two sided question; what are the mechanics or instructions for Living for CHRIST; or how are you doing in Living for CHRIST?

We are going to look at the mechanics or how to Live for CHRIST according to GOD’s Word, The Bible! You must then self-check how you are Living for CHRIST your LORD and Savior!

Matthew 6:33  (read 6:25-34) “Seek you First The Kingdom of GOD and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Mark 8:38 (read 8:34-37) “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My Words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him The Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in The Glory of The Father with His holy angels.” (Matthew 10:32-33; Luke 12:8-9)

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 “Do you not know that you are The temple of GOD and that The SPIRIT of GOD dwells in you? If anyone defiles (destroys) The Temple of GOD, GOD Will Destroy him. For The Temple of GOD is Holy, which Temple you are!”

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Watch, Stand Fast in the Faith, be Brave (in the KJV – “quit you like men” [to act manly]), Be Strong; let all that you do be done with Love.”

2 Corinthians 7:1 (read 6:11-18) “Therefore, having these Promises Beloved, let us Cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting Holiness in the Fear of GOD.”

Philippians 2:12-13 (read 2:1-11) “Therefore my Beloved, as you have always obeyed, not  as in my presence only but now much more in my absence, Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is GOD Who Works in you, both to Will and to do for His Good Pleasure.” (read 2:14-18).

Philippians 4:8 (read 1:1-4:7) “Finally brethren, whatever things are True, whatever things are Noble,  whatever things are Just, whatever things are Pure,  whatever things are Lovely, whatever things  are of  Good Report, if there is any Virtue and if there is anything Praiseworthy – Mediate on These Things.”

1 Timothy 6:11 (read 6:3-10) “But you O man of GOD, flee these things and Pursue Righteousness, Godliness, Faith, Love, Patience, Gentleness.” (read 6:12-16).

1 Peter 1:13 “Gird up the loins of your Mind (Soul) be sober and rest your Hope fully upon the Grace that is to be brought to you at the Revelation of JESUS CHIRST.”

2 Peter 3:11 “Therefore (read 3:1-18), since all these things (the earth and the works that are in it, 3:10) will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in Holy Conduct and Godliness!

Matthew 6:25-34

Matthew 6:25-34

Introduction:

Matthew 4:23-5:2 “And JESUS went about all Galilee teaching in their Synagogues, preaching The Gospel of The Kingdom and Healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His Fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments and those who were demon-possessed and  epileptics; and He Healed them all. Great multitudes followed Him – from Galilee and Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and beyond Jordan. And seeing the multitudes He went up on a mountain and when He was seated His disciples came to Him; then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:”

:25-27 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your Life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not Life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your Heavenly Father feeds them; are  you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to your height (stature)?”

:28-32 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field , how they grow: they neither toil nor spin: and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed (arrayed) like one of these. Now if GOD so clothes the grass of the field which is today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little Faith? Therefore do not worry, saying ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles (sinners) seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.”

:33-34 “But (You) Seek First The Kingdom of GOD and His Righteousness and All these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

In Philippians 4:10-20 Paul expounds on JESUS’ statement: “But I  rejoice in JOHOVAH (The LORD) greatly, that now at last your care (you have revived your care) for me has flourished again; though you surly did care but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever condition (state) I am, to be Content: I know how to Live Humbly (be abased) and I know how to Live in Prosperity (abound). Everywhere in All Things I have Learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through CHRIST Who Strengthens me! Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my destress. Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no Church shared with me concerning giving and receiving, but only you. For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the Fruit that abounds to your Account (Heavenly Treasure). Indeed I have received all and abound; I am full having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable Sacrifice, well pleasing to GOD! And my GOD shall Supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by CHRIST JESUS! Now to our GOD and Father be Glory forever and Ever. Amen.”

This truth is based in the fact that every covenant that GOD has made with humanity has a requirement for us to fulfill and a Blessing that GOD promises us and every commandment has a promise of something that we need or a Blessing from GOD if we obey it!

The HOLY SPIRIT Is GOD!

The Holy SPIRIT is GOD!

Who is The HOLY SPIRIT? Genesis 1:1-5; John 1:1-5

What does The HOLY SPIRIT Do? John 14:15-18, 25-26; 15:26; 16:5-15

Why does it matter to me? 1 Corinthians 2:6-16; 1 John 5:6

The most important thing JESUS told us about The Holy SPIRIT is not to blaspheme Him!

Mark 3:28-30 “Assuredly (truthfully) I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and what ever blasphemes they may utter; but He who blasphemes against The Holy SPIRIT never has forgiveness but is subject to eternal condemnation – because they said, ‘He has an unclean spirit.’” They were saying that the miracles that JESUS did were done by the devil’s power. (Matthew 12:31-32; Luke 12:8-10) Paul reinforces this teaching (Ephesians 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 5:19)

Acts 7:51 “You stiff-necked (stubborn) and uncircumcised in heart and ears (“He who has ears to hear let him hear” (Luke 14:35 and to all seven Churches in Revelation 2 and 3 JESUS uses the phrase 15 times)! You always resist The Holy SPIRIT; just as your fathers did, so do you!” Resisting or ignoring The Holy SPIRIT is silent blaspheme, you might not say anything to other people but by not obeying The Holy SPIRIT you are denying Him. There are Christian denominations that do not believe that The Holy Spirit is active in The Church today. That He does not speak to people or perform miracles in and through people, (that He just sits in Heaven and watches I guess.) Do not quench The Holy SPIRIT, in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 Paul is giving a list of things to do and not to do; the first not to do is, “Do not quench The SPIRIT.” That is what we do when we deny Him and ignore Him, we quench His Power to work in our life and to work through us to minister to others.

We are temples of The Holy SPIRIT, (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:17-20; 2 Corinthians 6:11-18) The very essence of GOD lives in those who “believe that JESUS is The Son of GOD and confess with their mouth that GOD raised Him from the dead” (Romans 10:9-11) In 1 Corinthians 3 we are admonished to take care of our body; in 1 Corinthians 6 we are told to avoid sexual immorality; in 2 Corinthians 6 we are told to avoid idolatry and being joined with sinners. GOD takes seriously that He has made us His Temple and He expects us to not only honor and care for our body but to make it a place of worship and service to His Kingdom in the earth.

Romans 8 is the benefits of being filled with The SPIRIT of GOD! Study 8:8-11, 26-27.

It’s not about the Fruit or Gifts, it’s about obedience; yes, there is error in the Church but that is not a reason to resist what GOD is doing! JESUS confronted the error of the religious leaders of His Day and we are called to proclaim the Truth of The Gospel and The Power of The Holy SPIRIT so that those with an open heart can receive Salvation and become children and servants of GOD.

If you don’t give GOD a place to Work by His SPIRIT in your life then He won’t!

Predestination Of The Evil Ones!

Predestination Of The Evil Ones?

Through most of my Christian Life I have not believed in the doctrine of pre-destination as some teach it: that we have no choice as to whether we are Saved or not, we are born to be Saved or born to go to hell! I believe because of John 1:12, 3:16-17 that every person has a choice to make in regard to Salvation!

Then there has always been those who site, “Jacob have I Loved and Esau I have hated!” (Malachi 1:2-3), yet because of Genesis 25:23 I understood that GOD being all knowing chose Jacob over Esau in their mother’s womb because of the choices they would make in life. I also understood that GOD makes choices based on His Purpose, like Pharoh in the days of Moses (Exodus 9:1-16) and Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon (Jeremiah 27:5-8), the 12 disciples (John 6:70-71) and Saul (Paul) of Tarsus (Acts 9:1-6)

Then today as I was reading in Psalms 58 and 59 I saw that there are people who are born wicked; the question is, is it GOD’s choice or theirs – based on how they are going to be raised and trained by the society where their parents live. What about traitors, people who are serving GOD and for some reason turn against Him; the why is different for each one but the result is the same, they rebel against GOD (not just back slide) but turn against GOD in every way possible.

Psalm 58:1-5 “Would you indeed speak righteousness in silence? Do you judge straightly you sons of men? No! In heart you work unrighteousness, on earth you weigh out the violence of your hands. The wrong have been estranged from the womb! Those who speak lies go astray from birth! Their poison is like the poison of a snake, like a deaf cobra that stops its ear, so as not to hear the voice of the whisperers (charmers) or a skilled caster of spells (skilled charmer).”

Psalm 59:1-5 “Deliver me from my enemies , O my ELOHIM; set me on high from those who rise up against me. Deliver me from the workers of wickedness and Save me from men of blood. For look, they have lain in wait for my Life; mighty men assemble against me, for no transgression or sin of mine, O JEHOVAH. For no guilt (of mine) they run and prepare themselves, awake to help me and see! And You, JEHOVAH ELOHIM of hosts, ELOHIM of Yisra’el, awake to punish all the nations; show no favour (favor) to any wicked traitors, Selah (a pause to reflect).”

Read both of these Psalms in their entirety!

So what does that mean to you and me? First in the Sermon on the Mount, JESUS clarified Love and Hate – Believers in JESUS are not allowed to hate anyone and we are to Love everyone, even sinners and the enemies of GOD (Matthew 5:7-9, 21-26, 43-48, 6:14-15, 7:1-2). Be merciful, be pure in heart and be peace makers; don’t be angry and do not call people disrespectful names; Love and be kind to your enemies; forgive everyone; do not judge! Then JESUS gave all Believers a Commission (Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:14-18; John 20:19-23; Acts 1:4-7). Preach The Gospel to everyone; Baptize and Disciple new Believers teaching them The Word of GOD; cast out demons; Heal the sick; Forgive sins. These are the things that every Believer should be doing at some level in their walk with JESUS. We are all called to minister GOD’s Love and Salvation to every human that we can, even those who hate GOD and us.

That is how some of us got saved, when we hated GOD, even when we counted GOD as an enemy to us – GOD Loved us and pursued us through our circumstance and through His Faithful Servants! (Romans 5:10; Colossians 1:19-23)

Exodus 12 - I Repent!

Exodus 12

Do Not Judge JEHOVAH’s Servants!

As I was reading today (October 22, 2025) I was convicted of my critical and judgmental attitude towards GOD’s Servants. Over the 50 years of my Christian Life I have judged and criticized ministers and ministries for the way they performed, presented The Word, did worship, dressed, and whatever bothered me that day.

I have no business judging or criticizing anyone, Believer, Servant of GOD or sinner! They are created in JEHOVAH’s likeness and image not mine, they are JEHOVAH’s child and not mine, they are JEHOVAH’s Servant and not mine!

JESUS told us not to judge unless we waned to be judged as we judge others! (Matthew 7:1-6) That has been a problem and I am sure is part of what holds me back from what GOD has Called me to do!

Today I have Repented before JEHOVAH, the Church and everyone who sees this.

I ask for your forgiveness.

Thank you and JEHOVAH Bless!

GOD's Name!

GOD’s Name!

What is GOD’s Name?

Exodus 3:13-15 “Then Moses said to GOD, ‘Indeed, when I come to the Children of Israel and say to them, “The GOD of your fathers has sent me to you,” and they say to me, “What is His Name?” what shall I say to them?’ GOD said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM!’ and He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the Children of Israel, “I AM has sent me to you!” Moreover GOD said to Moses, ‘Thus you shall say to the Children of Israel: “JEHOVAH GOD of your fathers, The GOD of Abraham, The GOD of Issac and The GOD of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My Name Eternally and this is My Memorial to all generations.”’” (Exodus 6:1-8***; Psalm 30:4, 97:12, 102:12-15, 135:1, 13)

GOD tells Moses “This is My Name, יהוה (YHWH)*…My Memorial Name” what does that mean, My Memorial Name? A memorial is something that establishes  memory of a person or event. For the Hebrew people GOD was revealing His Memorial Name to remind them that He freed them from slavery in Egypt and gave them the land that He had promised Abraham by Covenant. For Christians He gave us The Name that is above all names, the only Name by which humanity can be Saved – JESUS**, His only begotten Son! (Acts 4:12; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:1-4)

Should we use GOD’s Name? Yes! He tells us this is His Name that He is to be remembered by and not misused. (Exodus 9:13-16, 20:7)

Why? Because GOD gave us His Name, if He did not want us to call upon Him by Name why would He give us His Name? If He just wanted to be known as GOD, He would have told us to call Him GOD or LORD or Sovereign. As Born Again Christians we say JESUS’ Name more than calling Him LORD, so shouldn’t we call our Heavenly Father by His Name JEHOVAH.

Why not? We could be like the Hebrew people who were so afraid of misusing GOD’s name that they stopped writing and saying it, now it is lost to Humanity and all we have is a best guess based on four letters, YHWH.

For a period of time in the early 2010’s I understood that LORD was not GOD’s Name and I started using JEHOVAH and YAHWEH in my prayers and writings, but I could not make up my mind and reverted to LORD. Earlier this year as I was studying I remembered GOD’s Memorial Name JEHOVAH and now I am working on using it in my prayers, worship and writings. How you call upon The True and Living GOD is between you and GOD, יהוה is His Name.

* Some believe that GOD’s Name has been lost since 70AD, all we have are the 4 consonants with no vowels and no proper pronunciation, it is transliterated as YƏhōwā or YƏhōvah of which the Latinization is JEHOVAH.

Almost every time you see the word Lord, Lord’s , or Lords in The Law (First five books) it is actually JEHOVAH (only 69**** times is another word translated Lord or Lord’s, there are only three other words translated Lord , Lord’s or Lords in The Law (’âdôwn or ’âdôn [used 49 times]; ’Ădônây [used 19 times]; gebîyr [used 1 time] and ba‛al from bâ‛al [used 1 time]). In the Book of Leviticus JEHOVAH is the only word translated LORD. What that means is that almost every time you read the word LORD in the Law, you are actually reading GOD’s Name JEHOVAH.

** JESUS Iēsŏus is a transliteration of the Hebrew Yehôwshûwa‛ or Yehôwshû‛a meaning “JEHOVAH is Salvation.” LORD in The Gospels is most often kuriŏs meaning Supremacy or Supreme in Authority; kuriakŏs is translated LORD’s, used most often for JEHOVAH and JESUS; it is from kuriŏs. Three other words were used once each in The Gospels and translated Lord, Lord’s or Lords, dĕsŏptēs; rhabbŏni or rhabbŏuni; and mĕgistanĕs.

I am not sure, I think during the translation to the King James Version, they stopped using GOD’s Name JEHOVAH and replaced it with LORD. LORD is a title (JEHOVAH is The LORD of the universe, JESUS is The LORD of Lords), but LORD is not their Name!

Some translate YHWH as YAHWEH and since none of us know for sure it is up to us as we seek and serve GOD to determine how we will call His Name.

*** An interesting note, from creation to Moses GOD did not reveal His Name. As Moses was introduced to JEHOVAH GOD and GOD required him to write the history of creation and those who knew Him as GOD, he inserted GOD’s Name, but apparently none of the people he was writing about actually knew GOD’s Name.

**** These numbers might be off by one or two; I did not even try to count how many times JEHOVAH is used in The Law or Supreme in Authority is used in The Gospels.

1 Chronicles 10 A Story Of Sin

1 Chronicles 10

A Story of Sin

1 Chronicles 10 follows nine chapters of names, the historical and genealogical history of Israel, it opens with the Philistines attacking Israel. 1 Chronicles goes from the genealogies to the worst best day in Israel’s history (at that point in history). It skips everything from the wilderness to the reign of Saul as the first King of Israel and starts with Saul and his three sons death and the defeat of the Israelite army by the Philistine army.

Why?

If you are familiar with The Bible then you know the story of Saul and David the first and second Kings of Israel. The rest of Chronicles is the history of the Kings of Israel and Judah starting with David who united the nation; the fall of Saul starts the reign of David!

Because!

“Thus Saul died for his sin which he sinned against JEHOVAH because he did not guard (obey) The Word of JEHOVAH and also for asking a medium for advise rather than asking JEHOVAH. So JEHOVAH put him to death and turned the Kingship of Israel over to David the son of Jesse.”

Sin is the downfall of the righteous and the unrighteous. If you call yourself a Christian and do not live your life according to the Standard of GOD (It is found in the Bible), then you will come under GOD’s Righteous Judgment – GOD’s Judgment is both temporal and Eternal! If you have any sin in your life and it is easy to have sin in your life as a Christian, then you will be judged like Saul.

It is not that Saul sinned as King it is that Saul never repented (asked for forgiveness and stopped doing it), Saul did ask for forgiveness and mercy, but he did not stop sinning! I know how easy that is, I had sin in my Christian life for more than half of my Christian life. I have Repented (asked for forgiveness and stopped doing it), but some of the consequences are still in my life (temporal judgment).

We can serve GOD with sin in our life, Saul was a successful King against the enemies of Israel, yet his sin led to his death and the death of his sons who served him. GOD’s Judgment will come; even though He gives us ample time to Repent (2 Peter 3:7-9) if we do not then the Judgment will be harsh from our perspective (Hebrews 12:5-6), even Eternal (Luke 12:4-5)!

When Does The Kingdom Of GOD Come?

When Does The Kingdom Of GOD Come?

Luke 17:20-37

“Having been asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of GOD would come, JESUS answered them saying, ‘The Kingdom of GOD does not come with intent watching, nor shall they say, “Look here!” or “Look there!” For look, The Kingdom of GOD is in your midst (within you)!’”

JESUS answered the question they asked, not the question they implied! The Pharisees asked when GOD’s Kingdom would come and it was already there; they just did not see it because of their religious blindness. JESUS Is The Kingdom Of GOD! (John 5:37-40; Colossians 2:8-10; Hebrews 1:1-4)

Then He went on and answered the implied question to the disciples about the signs to watch for, verses 22-37.

There are many Christians and non-christians trying to figure out the End of Time, looking for and interpreting the signs they see but not understanding The Scriptures.

We must be careful in saying the Scriptures say something other than what they actually say. In this section there are two common errors.

Verses 26-29 JESUS talked about what it will be like when He is Revealed, He said as it will be as in the days of Noah and Lot. Many describe this as days of giants and monsters and great sin and they apply it to the Last Days, the Great Tribulation. But that is not what JESUS is saying! JESUS said when He is Revealed people will be going about their life as normal. JESUS said the people would be eating and drinking and getting married, buying and selling, building and planting, everything will be normal. In the Great Tribulation nothing will be normal, many people will not take the mark or name of the anti-christ and they will not be able to rent or buy a home, go shopping for groceries or do any normal activities; they are going to be persecuted, imprisoned and murdered for their Faith in JESUS or rejection of the government.

Verses 31-37 JESUS said two will be together in bed, in the field, or in the kitchen and one will be taken and the other left; many teach this is the rapture, it is not, why? Because in verse 37 the disciples ask JESUS where the ones taken will be taken to. JESUS tells them they will be taken to where the eagles are gather together, some translations say vultures*.

The Rapture is about being caught up to Heaven where JESUS is waiting for us, that is not where these people were taken, they were taken to a place of death. This section of Scripture is talking about the destruction of Jerusalem, the Temple and the dispersion of the Israelites through the know world, there was a great slaughter of the people.

Why? Remember that GOD Judged Israel for 70 years for missing 490 years of Sabbaths.

The historical reason is that the Roman’s got tired of The Israelites rebelling, GOD’s reason is that after they rejected their Messiah JESUS of Nazareth they were practicing a false religion, Judaism. Instead of receiving and worshipping their Messiah JESUS they continued to practice animal sacrifice – that was a total rejection of GOD’s Plan of Salvation for humanity. (Study Hebrews 10. Vs.1&39 “For The Law (Torah), having a shadow of the Good things to come, not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year after year, make those who approach perfect…But we are not of those who draw back to perdition (destruction), but of those who Believe to the Saving of the soul.” So in 70 AD GOD brought His Judgement on Israel that lasted 1,878 years.

So in this passage JESUS was not talking about the End Days, the Great Tribulation and the Rapture. He was warning them of the coming Judgment of the nation.

*Eagle = aĕtŏs “an eagle” (also a vulture), is perhaps connected with aēmi, “to blow”, as of the wind, on account of its wind-like flight. In Matthew 24:28 and Luke 17:37 the vultures are probably intended. Vines Concise Dictionary Of The Bible, Thomas Nelson

The Love Of JESUS For You!

The Love Of JESUS For You!

This could be titled: The Obedience Of JESUS For You! or The Sacrifice Of JESUS For You!

Have you ever thought about the depth of JEHOVAH’s Love for you, for His creation?

Genesis 1 tells us that GOD created humanity in His Image and Likness! Do you know what that means?

1 Peter 1 tells us the JEHOVAH ordained before He created anything in our existence the life and death of JESUS, His only Begotten Son! As a Born Again Believer in JESUS you probably do know what that means.

What do we know and what do we understand about JESUS and His Life and Death for us?

First we know that JEHOVAH, The only True and Living GOD created EVERYTHING! Genesis 1:1-5; Psalm 90:1-2; John 1:1-5; Revelation 4:11, 13:8 and many other Scriptures.

Second we know that JEHOVAH GOD prophesied of His Son defeating the devil from the beginning! Genesis 3:14-15; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23.

Third we know that JEHOVAH GOD choose JESUS’ earthly parents: Mary, his biological mother and Joseph His step-father. Luke 1:26-35; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 3:23-38 Mary’s genealogy, verse 31 shows Mary was of the linage of King David;  Matthew 1:1-16 Joseph’s genealogy, verse 6 shows that Joseph was of the linage of King David.

Forth we know that JESUS had 4 brothers and at least 2 sisters. Matthew 13:53-56.

After age twelve there is no mention of Joseph, JESUS’ step-father nor of the rest of JESUS’ childhood, until He was 30 years old. Luke 2:41-52, 3:23.

JESUS was filled with His HOLY SPIRIT when John The Baptist baptized Him. Luke 3:21-22.

JESUS prepared a place for us in JEHOVAH GOD’s Eternal Kingdom John 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:50-55; Revelation 14:14-16.

JESUS heals us by His scourging (stripes). Isaiah 53:4-6; 1 Peter 2:23-25.

He took our sins upon Himself and made us Righteous in GOD. Isaiah 53:12; 2 Corinthians 5:20-21

GOD gives us The Victory through CHRIST JESUS. 1 Corinthians 15:57; 1 John 5:4-5.

JESUS’ first victory over the devil was before creation. Luke 10:17-20, JESUS saw the devil fall – past tense; Revelation 12:7-12

JESUS’ second victory over the devil was during His 40 days of temptation. Luke 4:1-14.

JESUS’ third victory over the devil was at His death on the cross. Psalm 68:17-18; Ephesians 4:7-8; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:1-4, 7:23-28.

JESUS’ fourth victory over the devil was His Resurrection on the third day, Matthew 15:21, 28:1-8; Romans 8:11.

JESUS’ final victory over the devil will be at the end of this age. Revelation 20:10.

Matthew 6:16-24

Matthew 6:16-24

Introduction:

“And JESUS went about all Galilee teaching in their Synagogues, preaching The Gospel of The Kingdom and Healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His Fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics and He Healed them all. Great multitudes followed Him – from Galilee and Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and beyond Jordan. And seeing the multitudes He went up on a mountain and when He was seated His disciples came to Him; then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:” Matthew 4:23-5:2

:16-18 “Moreover when you Fast do not be like the pretenders (hypocrites) with a sad countenance; for they disfigure their faces that they may appear to people to be Fasting; truly I tell you they have their reward. But you, when you Fast anoint your head and wash your face so that you do not appear to people to be Fasting, but to your Heavenly Father Who is in the secret place; and your Heavenly Father who sees in secret Will Reward you openly.” (Matthew 17:14-21; Isaiah 58 is about what GOD calls Fasting) JESUS says, “when you Fast” not if you Fast, Fasting is part of “Seeking First The Kingdom of GOD and His Righteousness.”

:19-24 “Do not store up for yourselves Treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break-in and steal (Proverbs 23:4-5; 1 Timothy 6:9-10) but store up for yourselves Treasures in Heaven, where moth and rust does not destroy and thieves do not break-in and steal (John 4:34-38; Romans 6:20-23; 1 Corinthians 3:5-15;1 Timothy 6:11-12). For where you store your Treasure there your heart is! (Proverbs 18:11; Matthew 19:21, Is your heart on Eternity or is your heart on the things of this life? You cannot earn your way into GOD’s Eternal Kingdom, but you can earn rewards (treasures) by how you focus and live your life in this world.) The Lamp of the body is the eye; if your eye is good (clear or healthy) your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad (evil or unhealthy) your whole body will be full of darkness. Therefore, if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! (Psalm 19:8; Proverbs 15:30; Luke 11:33-36) No one can serve two masters; either they will hate the one and Love the other, or else they will be Loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot Serve GOD and mammon (Lit. in Aramaic riches). (1 Corinthians 10:21-22; 2 Corinthians 6:11-18)

Matthew 6:5-15

Matthew 6:5-15

Introduction:

“And JESUS went about all Galilee teaching in their Synagogues, preaching The Gospel of The Kingdom and Healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His Fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics; and He Healed them all.

:5-8 “When you pray you should not be like the pretenders (hypocrites), for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by people; truly I say to you, they have their reward. When you pray go into your room and shut the door, when you pray to your Father in Heaven in private, your Father in Heaven Who sees in Secret will Reward you openly. (2 Kings 4:32-32-35; Acts 9:36-43) When you pray do not use vain repetitions as the unbelievers do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them for your Father in Heaven knows the things you need before you ask Him.” (1 Kings 18:25-26; Proverbs 18:27-28; Ecclesiastes 5:1-7; Matthew 6:25-34; Romans 8:26-28)

:9-13 “so pray like this, Our Father in Heaven, Your Name (JEHOVAH) is Holy (Malachi 1:11); Your Kingdom (Authority) come, Your Will (Power, Matthew 26:42; Philippians 2:12-14) be done on earth as it is in Heaven (Ephesians 5:1-21); give us today our daily bread (Deuteronomy 8:1-3; Proverbs 30:7-9; Matthew 6:25-34); forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us (Matthew 18:21-22; Ephesians 4:30-32; 1 John 3:16); do not lead us into temptation (Psalm 19:12-13; James 1:12-18 [LSD]) but deliver us from the evil one (John 17:15; 1 Corinthians 10:1-13; 2 Peter 2:4-11; for Yours is The Kingdom and The Power and The Glory Forever. Amen.” (1 Chronicles 29:10-12; 1 Peter 5:10-11; Revelation 1:4-8, 4:8-11, 5:12)

:14-15 “For if you Forgive people their sins, your Father in Heaven Will Forgive you your sins. But if you do not Forgive people their sins, neither will Your Father in Heaven Forgive you your sins!” (Matthew 18:21-35; Mark 11:20-26; Colossians 3:12-14)

The “LORD’s Prayer” is not a prayer to recite, which is how many people, even non-believers pray it. I am not saying to not just recite it, I am saying to pray it from your soul, from what is happening in your life right now. Prayer is not a tool to get GOD’s attention to what we need and want. It should be a relationship, a fellowship between us and GOD our Heavenly Father.

There are only two points in “The LORD’s Prayer” that JESUS emphasized, worship of GOD in verses 9 and 13 “Our Father in Heaven, Holy is Your Name…For Yours is The Kingdom and The Power and The Glory Forever.” JESUS opened and closed with Worship! And Forgiveness in verses 12 and 14-15, “And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.” “For if you Forgive people their sins, your Father in Heaven Will Forgive you your sins. But if you do not Forgive people their sins, neither will Your Father in Heaven Forgive you your sins!” Immediately after He finished He emphasized Forgiveness.

If we expect GOD to hear our prayers we must Worship Him and we must Forgive everyone. (Psalm 66:1-5, 16-20; John 20:19-23) When we come before JEHOVAH GOD it should always be in Humility and Honor to Him with a Pure heart, you cannot have unforgiveness and have a pure heart. To have a Pure heart you must Love your enemies and pray for those who spitefully use you (Matthew 5:43-48) and you can only do that if you forgive them!

Paul's Trip To Heaven

Paul’s Trip To Heaven

In 2 Corinthians 12:1-5 Paul tells of his trip to Heaven, he prefaces his experience as if it was not his own and so many Bible Scholars believe it was not his, yet many Bible scholars believe that it was Paul’s personal experience. For all of my 50 years as a Christian I went back and forth on whether this was Paul’s personal experience or not. Now I believe it was and here is why:

Between 55 and 56 AD Paul wrote the letter, in verse 2 he states; “I know a man in CHRIST who fourteen years ago-“, so about 42 AD. I originally thought this might have happened when he spent three days fasting and praying in Damascus after his face to face meeting with JESUS; where JESUS told him to go to Damascus where he would be told what he must do; “But JESUS said to Ananias, ‘Go for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My Name before Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel; for I Will show him how many things he must suffer for My Name’s sake.’” “‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ So I said, ‘Who are You LORD?’ and He said, ‘I Am JESUS, Whom you are persecuting, but rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this Purpose, to make you a Minister and a Witness both of the things which you have seen  and of the things which I will yet Reveal to you’”(Acts 9:1-19, 26:1-23)!

But that was well before 42 AD, I now believe he had his visit to Heaven while he was isolated in Tarsus for a couple of years, before Barnabas took him to Antioch from where The Holy Spirit chose them to go to the nations with The Gospel Message. That timing would fit better to the timing he mentioned in his defense in Acts 26.

The reason he included this testimony was to highlight his next teaching in his letter;. humility and obedience. No matter how you serve if people are not paying attention then you are doing it wrong; we must be 100% yielded to GOD’s Purpose and Will for our Life and Ministry!

Luke 14

Luke 14

In Luke 14:1-6 JESUS is invited to a Sabbath dinner by a Pharisee, there is a man wo has dropsy (dropsy is an older term for edema, or swelling, usually in the legs and feet, though it can occur in the abdomen or face and is caused by fluid buildup in tissues) JESUS heals the man and chastises the people there for their hypocritical behavior on Sabbaths, putting them to shame.

In 14:7-15 JESUS gives a teaching about pride and humility based on how the guests vied for the best seats; and for only inviting people who could invite him to a feast, so that was their repayment; saying, “But when you give a feast invite poor ones, crippled ones, lame ones, blind ones and you shall be Blessed because they do not have to repay you (they are not able to repay you). For you shall be repaid at the Resurrection of the Righteous.” (Matthew 6:19-21; Luke 20:45-47)

In 14:15-24 Just after JESUS talks about humility over pride a man at the feast tries to change the subject by saying, “Blessed is he who eats bread in The Kingdom of GOD!” JESUS tells a parable of a man who gave a great feast and invited his friends, when he sent out the invitations they all made lame excuses.

One said he bought a field and needed to go check it out, who would buy a property unseen?

One said he just purchased some oxen for plowing his fields and he was going to test them; would you not test them before purchasing them?

One said he just got married, now in that time the message could not be delivered if the husband and wife had left on a honeymoon, so he must have been home. Why was he not able to bring his new wife to the feast?

So the man ordered his servants to go out and invite anyone who was willing to come to his feast, stating, “For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper. (Matthew 22:1-14 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son…For many are Called but few are chosen.”)

In 14:25-35 At another time in another place JESUS  talks about the cost of Discipleship, saying, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters and his life also, he is unable to be My Disciple!”

In the following texts JESUS gives the example of a man planning a building project making sure that he has the funds to complete it so he will not be humiliated. Also a king planning a war seeking counsel about going to war or seeking peace with a king who has a bigger army who is coming to attack him. Then JESUS says in one continues thought, “So then everyone of you who does not give up all that he has is unable to be My Disciple. The salt is good, but if it becomes tasteless, with what shall it be seasoned? It is not fit for land not for manure; they throw it out. He who has ears to hear let him hear.” (Luke 9:62; John 12:24-26; Philippians 3:1-11; Revelation 2 & 3 JESUS is talking about spiritual ears.)

First and Second!

First and Second!

We call The Bible a book of two testaments or covenants, the old and the new; I believe we should call it The Bible The Book of GOD! It is not two testaments or covenants; it is GOD’s Eternal Word to humanity so that we can know Him and His Purpose in creating us. It is in two parts but it is one complete Book of Revelation: The Revelation of JEHOVAH GOD Who created everything that exists and His Son JESUS CHRIST Who fulfilled GOD’s Plan of Salvation for humanity! The Bible is The First Eternal Covenant and The Second Eternal Covenant!

What I am saying is that I do not like the terms old and new in reference to GOD’s Word the Bible!

GOD’s First Covenant with humanity was and is Eternal (Genesis 1:26-31, 2:15-25, 8:20-9:17; Isaiah 40:8; 1 Peter 1:25; Matthew 5:17-18; Ephesians 3:8-12).

GOD’s Covenant with Abraham was built on His Covenant with Adam and all humanity (Genesis 12:1-9, 13:14-18, 15, 17:1-15; 22:10-19), each promise was built on the one before it and passed down to Issac, Jacob and Jacob’s twelve sons who became the nation of Israel. As you study The first Covenant you learn that JEHOVAH GOD continued to Bless Israel according to His Covenants which are Eternal!

GOD’s Covenant with the Church (JESUS’ Physical Body in the earth; Romans 12:1-8; Ephesians 4:1-6) begins in The First Testament (Genesis 3:14-15; Matthew 13:36-43; John 8:42-44; Isaiah 7:10-16; Psalm 22; Isaiah 53) and is fulfilled in JESUS CHRIST The Son of GOD – The Son of Man (Matthew 1:18-25; John 3:16-17; Matthew 5:17-20; Romans 16:17-20; 2 Corinthians 5:20-21; 1 Peter 1:13-21).

So what am I saying? I am saying that Christians – The Body of CHRIST – JESUS is our Head – do not have a Bible that has an Old Covenant that needed to be replaced by a New Covenant! We have The Bible (Word) of GOD which is made up of His now fulfilled Original Covenant and His Second Covenant which is the Revelation of that fulfillment by JESUS CHRIST! JEHOVAH GOD expects All Believers in JESUS CHRIST to live according the First and Second Covenants, His Whole and Complete Word to humanity!

There Is Nothing We Can Do To Make GOD Not Love Us!

There Is Nothing We Can Do To Make GOD Not Love Us!

I have heard this statement since I became a Christian in 1974. Have you ever thought about this statement? Until recently I had not really thought about it, I just accepted it as fact. But not everyone, even Christians, believe it or understand its Truth!

Did you know that GOD had a plan before creation. (Proverbs 8:22-36; Psalm 90:1-2)

So how does The Bible prove GOD’s Love for everyone? The Bible is 66 different books written by at least 40 different men over about 1500 years, the time of Moses to the end of the first century. There are 31,102 verses in the 66 books of the Bible and no matter how you arrange the different books the knowledge and wisdom that GOD shares with all humanity is the same, no matter how many translations of the Bible there are they all proclaim the same message! The greatest proof verses are John 3:16-17 and 1 John 4:15-16.

The second proof of GOD’s undeniable and undying Love for us is Creation! On the sixth day of creation, after GOD had created everything else (as they say, “He saved the Best for last”) GOD created humanity in His Own Image and Likeness and gave us the Responsibility to care for all of His natural creation. (Genesis 1:26-31, 2:7, 15-25; Genesis 9:1-3; Psalm 8; Revelation 4:11, 10:4-7)

The next proof is GOD knew we would need to be saved from sin before He gave us Life. (1 Peter 1:19-21; Revelation 13:8) Which is Salvation from eternal death. (Matthew 25:41; Romans 6:23; Hebrews 9:27-28; Revelation 20:11-15) so that we could have Eternal Life. (Romans 10:8-13; Ephesians 2:1-10; 1 Peter 1:15-19; 1 John 3:16, 4:7-11) Making us a New Creation. (Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 4:17-24; Colossians 3:1-11)
