Book of Life!

Book of Life!

“And to the angel of the Church in Sardis write,…He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I Will Not Blot Out his name from The Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what The SPIRIT says to the Churches.” Revelation 3:1, 5 Today I heard a very prominent TV preacher that this passage did not say that GOD would erase someone’s name from The Book of Life but it showed that GOD would never remove our name from The Book of Life. Then he quoted Revelation 20:15, “And anyone not found in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of fire.”

This teaching is contrary to the Bible!

Will = Strong’s 1014 βoύλoμαι boo’-lom-ahee; mid. of a prim. verb; to “will,” i.e. (reflex.) be willing:–be disposed, minded, intend, list, (be, of own) will (-ing) Comp. 2309

Not = Strong’s 3756 oύ ŏu, oo; also (before a vowel)

oύ ŏuk, ook; and (before aspirate)

oύc ŏuch, ookh; a prim. word; the absol. neg. [comp. 3361] adv.; no or not;+ long, nay, neither, no (X man), none, [can–] not, + nothing. + special, un ([-worthy]), when, + without, + yet but. See also 3364, 3372

Blot = Strong’s 1813 έξαλείφω ĕxαlĕlphō; from 1537 and 218; to smear out, i.e. obliterate (erase tears, fig. pardon sin):–blot out, wipe away.

Out = Strong’s 1537 έξ, ĕx; a prim. prep. Denoting origin (the point whence motion or action proceeds), from, out (of place, time or cause; lit. or fig.; direct or remote):–after, among, X are, at betwixt (-yond), by (the means of), exceedingly, (+ abundantly above), for (-th), from (among, forth, up), + grudgingly, + heartily, X heavenly, X hereby, + very highly, in, . . . ly, (because, by reason) of, off (from), on, out among (from, of), over, since, X thenceforth, through, X unto X vehemently, with (-out). Often used in composition, with the same general import; often of completion.

“I (JESUS) WILL NOT BLOT OUT…” If JESUS will not blot out that means that He can blot out or there would be no reason to state that He would not. Some would argue that it is the same as when He says, “I WILL NEVER LEAVE OF FORSAKE YOU…” JESUS reminds us of this promise from GOD that He made to the Israelites before they entered the Promised Land, Deuteronomy 31:6, because our natural experience and our religious experience can cause us to fear abandonment. So can they cause us to fear loss of salvation, that is true, but we can lose our salvation; “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘LORD, LORD,’ shall enter The Kingdom of Heaven. Many will say to Me in That Day, ‘LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in Your Name and done many wonders in Your Name?’ And then I Will declare  to them, ‘I Never Knew You; Depart from Me you who Practice Lawlessness!’” Matthew 7:21-23.

We know that people can do the Works of GOD’s KINGDOM and not be in His KINGDOM, yet they believe they are and that their name is written in the Book of Life. So is it that The HOLY SPIRIT will use anyone who is willing to do the Works of The Kingdom – even if they are not saved? Or, is it that some start on the straight and narrow path but at some point wander off to the wide and easy path thereby breaking their relationship with JESUS? Yes! It is both and maybe more things that we don’t see or understand that can cause JESUS to blot out someone’s name from the Book of Life!

Resurrection of the Flesh

Resurrection of the Flesh

There is much controversy about the Resurrection of the Dead in the Church. Some teach that the First Resurrection is a Spiritual Resurrection that takes place when a person becomes a believer. A new Believer or a Born Again Christian dies to themself and the world when they believe and confess that JESUS is The Son of GOD who takes away the sin of the world. That they are buried in death with CHRIST and raised to Life by the Power of His SPIRIT – Water Baptism symbolizes this burial and resurrection. It is true that when we become a Born Again Christian we are to die to ourself and the world and live a new (Born Again) life in CHRIST by His SPIRIT that now lives in us. But this is a personal experience that happens to each Believer at the point of their New Birth. Paul describes this in Galatians 2:19-21 “For I through the Law died to the Law that I might Live to GOD. I have been Crucified with CHRIST; it is no longer I who live, but CHRIST Lives in me; and the Life which I now Live in the flesh I Live by Faith in The Son of GOD, Who Loved me and Gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the Grace of GOD; for if Righteousness comes through the Law, then CHRIST died in vain.” The First Resurrection (Revelation 20:4-6) as described is of the whole Church – body of Believers who have died being raised from the dead and those still alive being transformed in the air, 1 Corinthians 15:50-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

A small resurrection: some graves in Jerusalem were opened and those in them rose and witnessed about JESUS around Jerusalem Matthew 27:50-53. This happened on the day He was crucified not the day He rose from the grave.

The order of His Resurrection appearance according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John: Mary Magdalene, Mary JESUS’ mother and Joanna; two disciples, Cleopas and another on the road to Emmaus; Simon Peter; the eleven Apostles minus Thomas; the eleven Apostles; Simon Peter, Thomas, Nathanael, John, James and two other disciples.

The order of His Resurrection appearance according to Paul in 2 Corinthians 15:3-11: Peter, the twelve Apostles, by over 500 brethren at once, James, by all the Apostles and Paul as one born out of due time.

The order of the Resurrection of the dead: Christ First; then those who are His, the dead in Christ first, then those still alive; then all the dead; 1 Corinthians 15:22-23, 50-58; Revelation 14:12-20, 20:4-6, 11-15, 21:8

Everyone is going to one or the other and we have to tell people that. Or, their blood will be on our head. Seek GOD First! GOD Bless, Bob & Charlene

Salvation and Eternal Life

Salvation!

Sin Eater:

Set in the Appalachian Mountains in the 19th century, it is about a strange religious practice of a person who takes upon themselves the sins of every person of the community who dies during their time as the sin eater. They eat a meal provided by the deceased’s family while the whole community turns its back on the sin eater. There is no redemption for the sin eater and once a person becomes the sin eater they are ostracized by their family and the community.

Torah:

Animal sacrifices covered the sins of believing Hebrews, yet they knew that GOD forgave them of their sins and promised a Messiah who would permanently take away their sins. Leviticus 4; Psalm 103:1-5; Isaiah 53 (:12)

JESUS:

Took upon Himself the sins of the world – true forgiveness John 1:29-34; Hebrews 10:11-12

There are many different beliefs on how a person can be saved – go to Heaven – live eternally when they die. Some believe there is a series of activities that can be accomplished to get eternal life; some believe that they can attain eternal life by dying in defense of their faith; some believe that you only have to live a good life to obtain eternal life. Some believe you cannot know if you have achieved or earned eternal life until you wake up in death. The Bible teaches that one can only enter into eternal life in Heaven by believing in JESUS CHRIST and that has to be before death. Everyone will wake up in death, only Born Again Christians will be rewarded with eternal life in Heaven. EVERYONE else, by rejecting GOD’s Gift of Salvation through JESUS CHRIST condemns themselves to hell and the Eternal Lake of Fire. Matthew 25:31-46 (41); John 3:1-21 (18); Revelation 20:11-15, 21:8

Eternal Life - Waking Up In Death!

Reincarnation:

Some religions believe in reincarnation – coming back to life from death as a different life form; insect, animal or human; until they achieve godhood.

Resurrection:

JESUS is The Resurrection, The Life, The Way, The Truth. John 11:25-26, 14:6. The Bible teaches that all people will die physically but not spiritually. That after physical death there is eternal life, but not everyone will live eternally in Heaven. Romans 5:12-21; Revelation 21:1-8
