Incorrect Theology

Incorrect Theology

In worship we sang a song with the lyrics, “In the morning give me Jesus…When I’m lonely give me Jesus” This is theologically incorrect.

GOD is omnipresent; He is everywhere at all times; past, present and future! GOD created time; the seasons (the cycle of years), the division of day and night and the division of days and weeks into monthly (moon) cycles.
GOD is omniscient; He knows everything, nothing is hidden from Him and the dark is as light to Him, there are no secrets.
GOD is omnipotent; He is all powerful, nothing can overcome Him, He cannot be defeated, nothing He holds or claims as His own can be taken from Him.
Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of GOD the Father where He has seated us with Himself; where He has given all believers His victory over death and hell, where we rule with Him over principalities, powers and rulers of darkness.
The Spirit of GOD (Holy Spirit) lives in us; making us a living temple of the presence of GOD, reminding us of everything that Jesus said, bring forth His fruit so that we can grow and serve in GOD’s Kingdom and giving us His gifts for the work of GOD’s Kingdom.

We are often asking GOD to do what He has given us to do. It is part of having a free will; if we get to chose then we have to make up our mind to do it. I’ve heard Pastor Robert Morris say, “You cannot cast out a habit and you cannot disciple a demon.” That is the key if we have a bad habit we must discipline ourself to break it; if we are under spiritual attack we need to press into the ever presence of the LORD. To avoid bad habits and mitigate spiritual attacks we must disciple ourself or submit to someone qualified to disciple us in the Word of GOD, prayer and fasting and fellowship with other believers. If we cannot get the victory that Jesus has already given us then we may need deliverance from spiritual bondage and oppression.

When we say, sing or pray such things as, “Come LORD Jesus. Holy Spirit Fill us to overflowing. Father fill us with Your presence.” We should already have these things in our life; it’s not calling on the Father, Jesus or Holy Spirit to come to us or fill us–it’s us breaking through our distractions, working past our laziness and pressing into the Father’s will for us at that moment.

We have to do as Jesus commanded, “Take up you cross!” It is not easy, the process of being conformed to Christ’s image is through the fellowship of His suffering and being conformed to His death, but it is in the power of His resurrection.

We should not be asking GOD to do for us what He has given us to do! Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of GOD and all these things (provision for life) will be added to you.” We are often putting the responsibility on GOD for our blessings and gifts and to bring forth fruit in our life and GOD tells us to seek Him because He has already provided all that we need to live and serve in His eternal Kingdom.

I heard a TV pastor talking about life is a choice, “GOD does not make us do anything but He gives us choices. If we chose good we will be blessed, but if we chose the other; well we won’t talk about that.” Wrong! The first part is correct, but if we chose good we can still not be blessed, if we chose the other we can still be blessed. Why? GOD’s grace and blessings rain on the good and the bad the same. Life is not about good or bad it’s about GOD or not GOD. Jesus said, “Whoever is not against us is on our side.” There are only two sides, GOD’s side and not GOD’s side!

Study Luke 9:49-50, 11:14-23, 14:26-27; Matthew 6:25-34, 12:22-30; Mark 9:38-41; John 6:36-40; Hebrews 13:5; 1 Corinthians 12:30; Ecclesiastes 9:1-4; Job 2:9-10; Proverbs 15:3; Psalm 139:1-12

Philippians 4:8-9

Philippians 4:8-9

“Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do and the GOD of peace will be with you.” NKJV

There is a lot in these verses, when I first memorized verse 8 I did not really think about what all of these words meant to me and for me. Years later when I rememorized verse 8 I still did not think about the words and what they mean. Now I have it learned as a paraphrase rather than verbatim, yet until this morning (11/24/2018) I did not really think about what the words of these verses meant to and for me.

Today as I was thinking about verse 8 I thought of “good report”, this came right after I had asked the LORD to forgive me for thinking critically of someone. A good report is not thinking critically or judgmentally about another person or ministry. A good report is thinking of their good points and virtues and speaking only those things.

In verses 2 thru 7 Paul admonishes believers to be united, to be joyful and to pray, “…and the peace of GOD which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”, verse 7. But, verse 9 says that if we meditate on the words of verses 4 thru 8 then, “the GOD of peace will be with you.”

It is good to have the peace of GOD, but it is best to have the GOD of peace with us.

Right thinking is a problem in the Church, there is much incorrect and even evil thinking in the Church therefore we have neither the peace nor the presence of GOD in Christ Jesus as we should. That does not mean that we do not recognize and pray about false doctrine and ministries, we must speak against false teachings and those who espouse them.

David did not speak evil against King Saul, even though he had been anointed by Samuel the Prophet to replace Saul as King of Israel. But, he did speak to Saul of his evil in the presence of others. Paul when dealing with sin in the Church at times called people out by name and told the Church to be careful around them and even to avoid those who were teaching false doctrine. In verse 2 of this passage Paul calls the Church to minister unity and peace between two people by name; study chapter 3.

Jesus said that we must and would recognize people by the fruit of their lives and ministries. It is our responsibility to know the truth so that we can be set free. If we do not know the truth (GOD’s Word the Bible) and we do not have His Spirit (Holy Spirit) whom He sent to all believers, then we can be easily deceived and fall into the same judgment as those that teach lies as truth and self satisfaction as doctrine.

Why do people want to go to hell?

Why Do Some People Want To GO To Hell?

The personal internal reasoning will be different and not obvious to Christians or even others that reject GOD, but the underlying reason is that they do not truly understand GOD and hell.
The do not care that GOD loves them and has a plan for their life, they want to live their life as they please. Not that they are evil, some will live good, happy, moral lives; but they reject the life that GOD has for them. Some are ignorant of GOD’s love and desire to give them a better life; they just want to be left alone. Some are evil wicked people who want to take advantage of others for their own gain and pleasure.

What do they all have in common, whether they are atheists or follow some false religion or just think they know best how to live their life and fulfill their desired destiny? It that they actually know there is a GOD but they reject Him for whatever their reason is.
He who believes in Him (Jesus) is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the only begotten Son of GOD. And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light so that his deeds are not exposed. But he who does the Truth comes to the Light that his deeds may be clearly seen that they have been done in GOD.” “For the wrath of GOD is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and  unrighteousness of men who suppress the Truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of GOD is manifest in them for GOD has shown it to them.”  (John 3:18-21; Romans 1:18-19)

Now it would seem that my statement in the second paragraph contradicts the scripture in John 3:19-20, but they are not contradictory. In the world there are many who reject GOD but live happy moral lives, helping others and serving humanity and what they see as our great needs. While even Christians will look on them as good and decent people with moral motives; before GOD they are lawless. How are they lawless? This has nothing to do with man’s laws; they are lawless because they reject GOD’s Law, the Ten Commandments, maybe not all of them but the important first four. Those who are lawless before GOD are the same as the wicked and evil people. “Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” (Matthew 23:28) Also study Exodus 20 & 21:1-9; Deuteronomy 5:1-22; Matthew 7:21-23, 23:1-33; Hebrews 1:8-9; Psalm 45:6-7; Isaiah 61:1-3.

There are even those who call themselves Christian who are lawless. How are they lawless? They serve GOD out of their own desires and motives as they will rather that as He wills. “In this manner pray; ‘Our Father in Heaven, holy is Your name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in the earth as it is in Heaven’” Then Jesus said to them (the Jews), “Truthfully I say to you the Son can do nothing of Himself but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does the Son also does in like manner.” “I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear I judge; and My judgment is righteous because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.”  (Matthew 6:9-10; John 5:19, 30) Also study Matthew 6:25-34; 26:36-46; Mark 14:32-42; Luke 22:39-46; John 8:31-36, 17.

What happens when we are lawless? Professing to be wise they became fools and changed the glory of the incorruptible GOD into an image made like corruptible man – and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore GOD gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of GOD for the lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever, Amen.” (Romans 1:22-25)

Good or bad is not the issue! Doing the will of GOD for our life is! For Christians it is also a matter of GOD’s will over our will. Many will find their works burned up, not because they were evil but because they were not GOD’s will for them. GOD’s gift and call are without repentance (even many non-believers find GOD’s gift and call for their life, but by rejecting Him they still go to hell) but they do not earn rewards or build up treasure in Heaven if they are not GOD’s will and purpose for your life.

GOD is Great and Reckless

1-25-2018        11:30PM

Lying in bed where we are currently living we have glowing stars on the ceiling and I was looking at them and thinking how GOD had hung the stars in the heavens and had named them all; but more than that He created the planets that make up their solar systems and the solar systems that make up their galaxies and the galaxies that make up their universes.

While I was thinking about this in the back of my mind without having thought about it the theme from the movie 2001 Space Odyssey started playing, it was amazing.

As humans and as Christians we think too small of GOD when we think about Him. Even our greatest, grandest thoughts fall short of who and what GOD is. Even our deepest understanding of who GOD is from the Bible and from our observation of all that exists and our personal experience, fall short of who and what GOD is. In our wildest and grandest imaginations we cannot fully conceive of who and what GOD is.

This morning in worship our congregation sang two songs that speak into this. One talked about GOD’s love is fierce as a hurricane, the second song talks about GOD’s love is reckless in His pursuit of us.

We think of hurricanes as violent destructive forces so how do we apply that same force as GOD’s love for us? GOD is relentless and there is nothing that can keep GOD’s love from us; Jesus said that no one can take us from the Father (John 10:17-30); Paul says that there is nothing that can take us from GOD (Romans 8:31-39) and Hebrews 13:5 quotes Deuteronomy 31:8 that GOD “will never leave us or forsake us”.

When we think of reckless we think unreasonable behavior or actions that endanger us or others, behavior that leads to great harm or loss risking everything on a gamble. Yet GOD’s love for us is so reckless that He risked creation on creating humanity with a free will; He risked everything in ordaining that Christ would be born a man and live in the midst of sin and temptation even before he created the earth or humanity; He risked all of His creation for the few that would follow the straight and narrow way by believing in Jesus Christ, confessing and repenting of being a sinner and serve His Kingdom in the earth as it is in Heaven (Romans 8:18-22).

As Christians we need to think and understand GOD beyond our understanding and experiences, we have to stop limiting Him by our understanding and experiences, we have to allow GOD to Be after all He Is and He revealed Himself as I Am (self existent), creator, Love, Light, Life, and Truth

The Law of Moses

The Law of Moses
Notes and Thoughts from Teaching by Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj 2018

Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His commandments fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:22-24 NKJV

“Remember the Law of Moses My servant, which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold I send you Elijah the prophet before the coming great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” Malachi 4:4-6 NKJV

The Church has correctly and incorrectly taught that the Law of Moses was nailed to the cross and no longer applies to the Church. What is correct is that the ceremonial laws were nailed to the cross and no longer apply to Christians; Jesus continually chastised the religious leaders of Israel for following their ceremonial laws over the 10 commandments; the Sabbath, washings, eating, treatment of parents, and judging. Plus Jesus further defined the 10 commandments, murder is not just killing a person but hating them, sexual sin is not just doing it but thinking it, virtue in not public performance but private in the presence of GOD. Why would He discount their ceremonial laws and reemphasize the 10 commandments if He was going to nail them to the cross? In Acts 10 Peter had a vision of all kinds of animals being offered to him to eat by GOD and he refused because he had never eaten any unclean thing, but the LORD told Peter that, “What GOD has cleansed you must not call common.” Then Holy Spirit told him to go with some men without question and he did; he enter the house of a gentile (a Roman Centurion) and preached Jesus and all of the household were filled by Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. To this point the Church made up of Jews was still following many of the ceremonial laws; GOD brought persecution to the Church to get it out of Jerusalem and Judea into Samaria and into the rest of the world showing them that the ceremonial laws no longer applied to the Church. This was an issue all through the New Testament writings where the Jewish believers are trying to make gentile Christians obey the ceremonial laws of Moses like circumcision (which is not in the 10 commandments). The 10 commandments were not abolished and GOD expects His Church to keep and teach them.

Who is GOD?

Who Is GOD?

Who is GOD? What is GOD? Where is GOD? Universal questions that have been asked and answered by people practically from the beginning of time. Every people group has answered that question by giving names and powers to fictitious beings to answer their questions about creation, nature, about death and the good and evil of life.

In ancient times there were gods like Molech (Milcom), Baal, Ashtoreth, Beelzebub, Chemosh, Ra, Osiris; then the Greeks, Romans and Vikings all had multiple gods, today Indians have over a billion gods like Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma, and Krishna; Muslims have Allah and Mohammad; the Japanese have the Shinto gods; the Southeast Asians have the Buddha gods; and there are many more ancient and modern gods; including satan (lucifer).

All of these gods are vastly different and opposed to each other and the one True GOD based on the religious beliefs of the people that invented, discovered or were introduced to them. Some of them are outright hateful and evil in their treatment of their worshipers and non-worshipers alike.

So who or what is GOD? Actually, GOD is! There is only one true GOD, I AM! The GOD that created everything that exists just by His Word; the GOD who is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, immutable, invisible, invincible, immortal, truth, light, life, love, peace, holy, just and righteous.

The one true GOD reveals Himself to humanity by simply stating that He is and that He created everything; including humanity in His own image. In that declaration He reveals that He is triune in nature (The Father {Jehovah}, The Son {Jesus Christ}, The Spirit {Holy Spirit}). Throughout the Bible which is GOD’s instructions to humanity He reveals His personality and attributes through His numerous names: Jehovah, El, Elohim, Yahwey, Adoni, Christ (Messiah), Immanuel, Holy Spirit, Spirit of GOD, Son of GOD, Word of GOD and many more; there are also many compound names of GOD like El Shaddai, Jehovah T’sidkenu, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah and Elohim Chaseddi.

There is no other GOD like the one true GOD, to prove that just do word studies of the names of gods of various religions. Then study the names of GOD in the Bible.

The GOD of Judaism and Christianity is the only true GOD! Jehovah is the only one who actually fulfills the definition of the title GOD. Different religions give different definitions of who or what god is but, only Elohim fulfills them all and only the Bible is the true revelation of GOD to humanity.
There are religions that have books that their followers adhere to but they were written by the person who is the founder of that religion during their own lifetime. There are religions that claim to be Christian but deny the divinity of Jesus or the tri-unity of the Godhead, or the existence of hell or eternity, again their books were written by one person in their own lifetime. Only the Bible which is a collection of 66 books that were written by 40 men over a period of 4000 years that covers the history of the world from creation to the recreation (from mortality to Immortality).

There is only one GOD and there is only one way of salvation (not going to hell for eternity), the straight and narrow way is easy and hard. Believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of GOD, that He died to forgive the sins of humanity and went to hell to take our punishment upon Himself (while He was there He defeated death and hell), He rose from the grave and ascended to Heaven where He waits for the Church (Christians) to complete the work of the Father in the earth. Believing is the easy part doing the work of GOD’s will in the earth is the hard part.

While GOD created humanity with the ability to chose for ourself (self will) the two decisions that matter are to believe in Jesus or not believe in Jesus. Believing results in eternal life with GOD (Heaven), not believing results in eternal life without GOD in torment (hell).

The choice is yours and only yours!

How Do You Think About GOD?

How Do You Think About GOD?

How do you think about GOD? With your mind (understanding), with your soul (emotions), with your spirit? The answer should be yes! All three; mind, emotions and spirit; are redeemable and all three are corruptible.  The how we think about GOD determines what we think about GOD.
The first issue is, are we redeemed or corrupted? If we are redeemed we are aided in our thinking by the Spirit of GOD (Holy Spirit) and the Word of GOD (the Bible). Our mind, emotions and spirit have been cleansed from sin (washed in the Blood of the Lamb) and renewed (restored) by Holy Spirit to the purpose that we were formed in our mother’s womb by Father GOD for. If we are not redeemed than we are corrupted and cannot understand GOD or know Him as our Heavenly Father; only as our eternal righteous judge.

So stop expecting your unbelieving family and friends (even if they call themselves Christian) to understand when you are talking about GOD, His eternal Kingdom even hell, they just cannot.
Why? Because they cannot see GOD as the only true GOD; they cannot see Him as the creator of everything that exists and that there is an actual plan and purpose; they cannot believe that GOD is one GOD and triune (Father, Son and Spirit); they cannot believe that GOD knew before creation that mankind would sin and reject Him and need salvation, much less that He had already completed a plan of salvation; they cannot believe that GOD created time, days, etc.; they cannot believe that GOD is Light, Life and Love; they cannot believe that GOD is Truth, Righteousness and Justice; they cannot believe that all things that exist are in Him, by Him and for His pleasure; they cannot believe that Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sin free life; they cannot believe that Jesus overcame the same temptations they face; they cannot believe that GOD sent His Spirit to live in those who believe in Jesus; they cannot believe that GOD is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, immutable, immortal, invisible, invincible, eternal; they just cannot believe.

They can only believe what their minds which have been corrupted by lies and darkness can comprehend, what they have been taught by society; greed, pride, sexual lust, vanity, rejection (which leads to hate) and abuse (which leads to destructive self esteem). These cause people to do all sorts of evil to themselves and to others.

The inability to know and understand GOD leads to rejecting GOD and His plan of salvation, Jesus Christ. That is why we (every Christian) are called to be light and salt to the world; to lift up Jesus so that people are drawn to Him; to love one another as He loves us and our neighbor (the lost) as we love ourself, to take up our cross and follow Jesus (being conformed to Jesus in  His death and the fellowship of His suffering by the power of His resurrection).

Knowing and understanding GOD means that we know and understand that we are in a spiritual war that takes on physical and emotional battles, but we also know and understand that He has given us His victory and made us His temple (of Holy Spirit) in His Body (the Church); redeeming us, cleansing us and forming us into His Bride to reign with Him over everything (even things that we cannot imagine or comprehend) eternally.

That is why those who knew Him in the flesh could call themselves His bondservants, why they could rejoice in tests, trials and tribulations. That is why we live in greater faith then they, very few people since the First Church have had personal physical encounters with Jesus. We can only know Him personally through His Spirit and His Word; as we yield our will to Jesus as He yielded His will to His Father, as we live in His Word led by His Spirit, keeping His commandments; only then can we know Jesus and the Father in a manner that allows us to have full confidence in Him and His purpose for our life; to take up our cross, to lay down our life (spirit, soul and body), to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, and to fear only Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Flesh and Blood of Jesus

The Flesh and Blood of Jesus

Jesus told us that He is the Bread of Life, He said that if we are to walk with Him we must eat His flesh and drink His blood. That was hard for the Jews and His disciples and it is still an issue in the Church today.

Many believe that this is fulfilled in the taking of Communion, the elements of bread and wine (juice for some), fulfill this requirement. Yet Jesus’ command when He served the first communion was that it be done in remembrance of Him, for He gave His body and blood to take our punishment and wash away our sins so that we could be redeemed back to the Father.

Some in the Church believe that the elements become Jesus’ actual flesh and blood and some believe that they represent His body and blood. It does not matter which you believe as long as you take communion in faith with a humble and repentant heart before the LORD remembering the price He paid to redeem you.

Jesus also told us that He is the Living Word of GOD, He reminded us during His temptations that we do not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of GOD. He told us that He is the Living Bread from Heaven, not like the manna that the Israelites ate in the wilderness. He also said His food was to do the will of His Father and finish what His Father gave Him to do.

Since Jesus is the Living Word of GOD but He is not longer in the earth but seated at the right hand of GOD in Heaven then how are we to eat of His flesh and drink of His blood. Communion is the first step but communion is an act of remembrance. If we do not devour the Word of GOD (the Bible) then we receive no real spiritual nutrition! While the nutrition of our physical body is important, remember our physical body is temporary while our spirit and soul are eternal. To feed our spirit and soul we have to consume the Bible, not just daily reading but actually ingesting it into our spirit and soul so that it becomes a part of our being (conscience and subconscious) and we have to do the will of the Father for us; that is how we feed our eternal being while we are living in the flesh. We do this not as a sacrifice but in obedience led by the Spirit of GOD (Holy Spirit) whom Jesus said would remind us of everything that He said.

Proverbs 12:27

Proverbs 12:27

The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man’s precious possession.
This proverb has baffled me for many years, what man would be so lazy that he would not cook whatever he took in hunting? Maybe a starving man who could not wait for it to cook would begin to eat it raw. So was Solomon referring to a man who would bring in his kill for someone else to cook for him, or trade it for already cooked meat? Maybe but that’s not the epitome of laziness.

Diligence is careful and persistence work or effort; so is Solomon saying that a man that does not roast his own kill is not diligent? I do not think so, remember all scripture does not teach natural truth but all scripture does teach spiritual truth. What else does Solomon have to say about laziness and diligence?

He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. The hand of the diligence will rule, but the lazy man will be but to forced labor. The soul of a lazy man desires and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be rich.  Laziness casts one into a deep sleep and an idle person will suffer hunger.  (Proverbs 10:4, 12:24, 13:4, 19:15) Understand these verses are not talking about good and evil, but diligence and laziness.

How about these? The lazy man says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be slain in the streets!” The lazy man says, “There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion is in the streets!” As a door turns on its hinges so does the lazy man on his bed. The lazy man buries his hand in the bowl; it wearies him to bring it back to his mouth. The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer sensibly.”  (Proverbs 22:13, 26:13-16)
Study Proverbs 6:6-11, 10:3-5

Laziness is an unnatural condition that leads to poverty and death, laziness makes no sense to most people but is more than reasonable to the lazy person. Diligence leads to a well lived and prosperous life. Most people scorn lazy people and most people look favorably on diligent people.

The spiritual truth is that spiritually lazy people will not get into the Kingdom of GOD! Not that we have to earn our salvation through diligence or effort. Not at all, salvation is a free gift from GOD that we cannot earn, it is by faith through GOD’s grace to all who believe and confess.

However Paul teaches us that we have to work out our salvation and James teaches us that our faith without doing the work of GOD’s Kingdom is useless. “Therefore my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is GOD who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” “What does it profit my brethren if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works. Show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works.” You believe there is one GOD. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble! But do you want to know O foolish man that faith without works is dead. You see then that a man is justified by works and not by faith only. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”  (Philippians 2:12-13; James 2:14,18-20, 24, 26)
Study Philippians 2 & 3; James 2:14-26

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘LORD, LORD,’ shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name and done many wonders in Your name?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me you who practice lawlessness!’”
Study Matthew 7

Remember laziness is not about doing nothing it is also only doing what you want, what is easy, avoiding the hard things in life.

Thieves are thieves because they want what working people have without the effort that working people put into it. Many drug and alcohol addicted people are too lazy to face the realities of life and do what it takes to live a fairly normal life irregardless of all the bad and evil things that have happened to them; like most people do.

Its laziness of the soul and body that Solomon is dealing with in the Proverbs, remember Solomon was the wisest man in the world ever, and he was diligent in his studies of the natural world and the works that he had done for the nation of Israel. But, he was lazy in dealing with his wives and allowing them to bring in their idolatrous worship to his home, his nation and GOD’s Temple. Study the book of Song of Songs (Song of Solomon) of his first love which is an analogy of GOD’s love for Israel and Jesus’ love for His Church; Proverbs the book of the wisdom GOD gave him in answer to his prayer when he became king; Ecclesiastes the book of his learning the realities of life and the results on not living as GOD directs.

“Let us hear the conclusion of the matter; Fear GOD and keep His commandments for this is man’s all. For GOD will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” “Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed and hidden that will not be known. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”  (Ecclesiastes 13:13-14; Matthew 10:26, 28)

Then they said to Him, “What shall we do that we may work the works of GOD?” Jesus answered, “This is the work of GOD that you believe in Him whom He sent.” “Truthfully I say to you, he who believes in Me the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father.”  (John 6:28-29, 14:12)
Study John 6:22-40; 14

To wrap up this thought that some who believe they are Christians and serving GOD are not and will not get into Heaven. Jesus taught that the lawless will not enter into His eternal Kingdom, just like sinners.

Study Matthew 7:13-29, 13:36-43, 15:1-20, 25:1-13 (these are about the lawless and unprepared) Matthew 13:36-43, 25:31-46 (these about sinners) they all are not allowed into GOD’s eternal Kingdom but put in a place of torment.

In His revelation Jesus said, “I know your works, your labor, your patience and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place – unless you repent. But this you have that you hate the deed of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the Tree of Life which is in the midst of the Paradise of GOD.” “I know your works, tribulation and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison that you may be tested and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” “I know your works and where you dwell, where satan’s throne is and you hold fast to My name and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you where satan dwells. But I have a few things against you because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality. Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans which I hate. Repent or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. He who has ears let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” “I know your works, love, service, faith and your patience; and as for your works the last more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols. I will kill her children with death and all the Churches shall know that I Am He who searches the minds and hearts, And I will give to each one of you according to your works. Now to you I say and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who do not know the depths of satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations – ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like a potter’s vessels’ – as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” “…I know your works that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful and strengthen the things which remain that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before GOD. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore it you will not watch I will come upon you as a thief and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a few names, even in Sardis who have not defiled their garment; and they shall walk with Me in white for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and His angels. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” “I know your works. See, I set before you an open door and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My Word and have not denied My name. Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of satan who say they are Jews and are not but lie – indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet and to know that I have loved you. Because you have kept My command to persevere I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the world world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Be aware I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have that no one may take your crown. He who overcomes I will make him a pillar in the Temple of My GOD, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My GOD and the name of the City of My GOD, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of Heaven from My GOD. And I will write on him My new name. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” “I know your works that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot So then because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy and have need of nothing’ – and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked – I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire that you may be rich; and white garments that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye save that you may see. As many as I love I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Listen, I stand at the door and knock! If anyone hears My voice and opens the door I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with Him on His throne. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” “Then I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, ‘Now salvation and strength and the Kingdom of our GOD and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before GOD day and night has been cast down. And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice O Heavens and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you have great wrath because he knows that he has a short time.’” “He who overcomes shall inherit all things and I will be his GOD and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” “Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”  “Blessed are those who do His commandments that they may have the right to the Tree of Life and may enter through the gates of the City. But outside are dogs, and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters and whoever loves and practices a lie.” (Revelation 2:2-7, 9-10, 11, 13-17, 19-29; 3:1-6, 8-13, 15-22; 12:10-12; 21:7-8, 25-27; 22:14-15)

GOD or Reality

GOD or Reality?

Have you ever thought about the fact that you exist? Yes, all of us have in some way.
Because GOD exists – I exist!
GOD declared to us His existence by giving us existence, Genesis 1.
Genesis = the beginning. Not the beginning of GOD, the beginning of humanity.
GOD has always existed as evidenced by two things; He is eternal, without beginning or ending; and that His eternal Kingdom, Heaven and the heavenly host already existed when He created everything they we see, know and experience in our existence, Proverbs 8.
In the beginning everyone knew that GOD was and that He was the creator and giver of life, even in their disobedience they knew it, Genesis 3-5.

Reality = what is real, not what we want to be real. Truth is true not because we believe it, it just is. GOD is truth and GOD is real!

Lucifer, the father of lies, desired to change reality and therefore deceived himself and 1/3 of the heavenly host that he could be god. But, truth is true and he could not now he desires to change the reality of GOD’s chosen creation to reign with Him, humanity. Since satan as a created being cannot defeat GOD he focuses all of his evil on destroying humanity.

GOD, the supreme being in whom all things exist, for whom all things exist and who controls the destiny of all created things.

Satan’s greatest deception is the reality deception that, “I think therefore I am.” This philosophy says that I exist because I am conscience of myself, I am my own person, self existent, self sufficient therefore self important. This philosophy denies GOD’s existence and it therefore cannot explain existence at all, why humanity and everything that we understand to exist, exists.

Creation – some unknown spark from some unknown source or some unknown event caused a big bang that stared a chain reaction of events out of which random matter evolved into structured matter over an unimaginable amount of time. Yes, sort of: GOD said, “Let there be light.” and there was. Whether as a Christian you believe in the seven 24 hour days or the seven 1000 years days of creation, everything started when GOD said!

Humanity – some alien(s) came to earth at some point and seeded the earth with humans or altered the DNA of the existing evolved humanoids so that we became the dominate animals on earth; and they stop by and check on our progress every once in a while. Yes, sort of: GOD formed Adam from the elements (dust) of His creation and breathed  His breath (life) into Adam, then He divided Adam into male and female (Adam and Eve) and gave them dominion over His creation. GOD continually searches the earth look for the righteous and observing the evil.

Every godless philosophy of man is based on satan’s distortion of truth, “Has GOD said?” Satan was not able to come up with his own untrue theories of creation and humanity’s purpose, so he just distorts the truth with questions and innuendos. He tries to change truth by leaving GOD out and fosters his deceptions on humanity as our own wisdom based on our knowledge from our understanding of creation; but our discernment is false based on the first lie man ever heard and believed, “Has GOD said?”

Yes GOD really did!

The existence of man is by GOD, in GOD and for His good pleasure. It is GOD’s pleasure to raise up an eternal companion for Himself; to reign and rule with Him in His eternal Kingdom. The Church is the Body of Christ in the earth, called and being prepared to be His Bride and to be joined with Him in His eternal Kingdom reigning and ruling over all of His creation.

There is nothing circumstantial or happenstance in creation. GOD started with a purpose and He is completing His purpose through a process that humanity does not fully understand and that satan is always trying to distort.

Truth always triumphs over lies!

Prayer for the Church in America, Nov 2018

Prayer for the Church in America, Nov 2018

Father, forgive us our sins!

Father, forgive those who You call by Your name for allowing immorality, a lack of integrity, sexual perversion, greed, self promotion and division in Your Body the Church. Forgive us that we except these sins as normal. Call us back to Your Light, Life and Love.

Father, forgive Your Body the Church that we have excepted and integrated what the world says to the point that we look like them and not like Jesus. Call us back to Your Light, Life and Love.

Father, forgive Your people who enjoy and desire the pleasures of the world more than the works of Your Kingdom. Forgive Your people who seek the comfort of life rather than being conformed to Christ. Forgive Your people who want to serve You according to their desire rather than Your gift and calling. Call us back to Your Light, Life and Love.

Father, forgive those who call themselves by Your name but openly reject Your Word and Your will. Call them out of the darkness of death and fear into Your Light, Life and Love.

Father, thank You that You are working repentance into the heart of Your people. Thank You that You are calling us out of the darkness of deception into the Light of Your presence. Thank You that You are calling us out of eternal death into Your eternal Life. Thank You that You are calling us out of the false love of religion into Your true Love.

Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace through this time of judgment and correction to Your Body the Church, as You work Your Light, Life and Love into our life.

Truth and Freedom

Truth and Freedom

Many people including non-believers quote Jesus, one example is, “Know the truth and the truth will set you free.” Most including believers do not truly understand what Jesus is saying and so they misuse this quote to speak of being free from something because they have learned a truth. That is not what Jesus was saying, the misunderstanding comes from not quoting the full statement and understanding the context in which Jesus was teaching. Jesus was teaching! He never just gave out quotable quotes! Everything He said is a lesson to be learned and lived, that’s why He said He would send His Holy Spirit to remind us of everything He said (John 14:25-26).

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My Word you are My disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free?’” Jesus answered, “Truthfully I tell you, whoever commits sin is a slave to sin, and a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” (John 8:31-36) There is so much in these verses but I am going to stay on subject.

In the natural the Jews were at that time under bondage to the Romans and had been under bondage to numerous nations throughout their history going back to Egypt. But Jesus was not speaking about natural bondage, He was talking about spiritual bondage and the Jews knew it that is why they could say they had never been under bondage to anyone. But, they had, they had been under bondage to baal, ashtora, magog, molech and many other false demonic gods throughout their history. But, Jesus brings it right to the heart of the matter – sin! Sin has ruled over humanity since the Garden of Eden and it ruled over every Jew.

So the freedom Jesus was teaching them about was from sin, no longer being a slave to sin. The truth was that they, like us were slaves to sin, under the bondage of doing what sin required with the eternal result of judgment and damnation. Jesus was talking about being free from the rule and power of sin and its eternal consequences. Study John 8 and Romans.

Here is a cross reference to John 8:32, “If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” John 13:17 Jesus said this after He washed the feet of the 12 disciples during the Passover supper. The context is this statement to them is, So When He had washed their feet, taken His garments and sat down again, He said “Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and LORD, and you say well for so I Am. If I then, your LORD and Teacher have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example that you should do as I have done to you. Truthfully, I tell you a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” John 13:12-17 also study Proverbs 22:17-21.
Now Jesus is not talking to the crowds but to His 12 select disciples and He is giving them an example of being a servant not a ruler. Jesus came as The LORD and Master, The Teacher, The Savior: but, He also came as a servant not lording over His disciples and the nation of Israel His authority and power, but teaching them how to live in it as servants. Jesus exampled for us being a ruling servant: we are to rule over His enemies while serving His creation by doing the will of the Father in the earth as it is in Heaven!

These are the keys, “Do you know what I have done to you? You should do as I have done to you!” We cannot be free from the sin of lording over others until we know the truth. Jesus the LORD of all creation in the heavens, in the seas, in the earth and under the earth came in obedience to the Father as a servant to deliver us from the bondage of sin and death. The proof of our understanding is doing the will of GOD in the earth as it is in Heaven as a servant to all whether sinner or saint. Like Jesus we have to cry out to our Father in Heaven, “Not my will, but Your will be done!” If we serve GOD how we want only doing what we feel called to do rather than seeking first His Kingdom for our life (what He gifted and called us to do).

That’s another scripture that is often misused, Matthew 6:33, “Seek you first the Kingdom of GOD and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.” That is almost exclusively taught as a provision and prosperity verse because that is what Jesus had been talking about, food and clothing and in another passage, appearance, He also talked about shelter. These are not the things of GOD’s Heavenly Kingdom that He wants us to seek! He wants us to seek Him, His righteousness and His Heavenly Kingdom. Food, clothing, shelter and health are the side effects of seeking GOD first and His will for our life, not the goal of seeking GOD first for our life!

Remember the parable of the houses built on sand or solid rock, Matthew 7:24-28, from all He said from the beatitudes, the Our Father prayer, in-depth defining of the commandments and the LORD, LORD statement He concluded with the fact that if we do not know and keep His commandments, if we do not build our life on the foundation of who He is, our life’s work will be lost and possibly us with it. Study (Matthew 5 – 7)

Remember, it is not about me nor is it about you, it is about Jesus and Him lifted up so that humanity is drawn from darkness to His Light, Life and Love!

Matthew 7:21-23 and 24:15-28 (Sheep and goats)

Matthew 7:21-23 and Matthew 24:15-28

What is the difference between the goats of the world and the sheep of GOD’s Kingdom and what about those who think they are sheep but are not? These two passages deal with these issues and to me it seems clear but many Christians cannot tell the difference.

The sheep and goats of Matthew 24 is easier no matter what your perception the scriptures are clear. The sheep are those who believe that Jesus is the Son of GOD, that He was born of a virgin, that He lived a sinless life overcoming every temptation that came against Him, that He obediently and willingly went to the cross, healing us by the scourging of His back (by His stripes), washes us clean of our sins by the shedding of His blood, takes upon Himself our judgment as sinners so that we will not be judged by Almighty GOD, rose from the grave defeating death and hell and giving us resurrection and eternal life, sent His Spirit (Holy Spirit) to live in us to teach, council, and use us to complete the will of GOD in the earth, ascended to Heaven and seated us with Himself at the Father’s right hand giving us His authority over powers, principalities  and rulers of darkness; that is born again, Spirit filled friends of Jesus who do the will of God in the earth as it is in Heaven by keeping His commandments and doing the works of GOD; those who study and live the Bible as light and salt to do the will of GOD in the earth as it is in Heaven. The goats are those who do not believe all of that and do not live it.

Matthew 7 makes it clear that there are those who believe they are sheep but they are really goats. How can that be? It is easy to explain but may be hard to except. The gift and calling of GOD is without repentance or irrevocable. There are many who claim to be atheists but in life they found the gift and calling GOD formed in them in their mother’s womb have exercised it to their benefit and even the benefit of others, yet they still deny GOD. There are those who had some sort of religious experience and have joined a works orientated group that calls themselves Christian. There are those who had some kind of religious experience and have found the gift and call GOD placed in them in their mother’s womb but, they use it for their own glory and gain rather than as a sacrifice to Jesus; they might be called to be a missionary but soon develop a missionary training organization that sends our missionaries while they live the good life at home. I know, I  went from being s Spirit filled new believer (sheep) to being a goat, to seeing where I really was and repenting and returning to the sheep fold of Jesus. Only GOD knows the sheep from the goats, that is why He divides them and judges them as seen in both teachings (these are not parables, Jesus is teaching Kingdom truths).

We are not called to judge but only to discern the difference. We are called to love one another as Jesus loves us, to love our neighbor as we love ourself and to do the will of GOD in the earth as it is in Heaven or to seek first the Kingdom of GOD and His righteousness.

Education, Experience or wisdom

Today most people say you need a good education to get ahead in life, some say all you need is experience, the reality is that we need both. But, education and experience together are not enough, we need something that only comes from GOD and is only available to those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD and the Savior of the world, His Spirit, Holy Spirit!

James in speaking to believers says, “If anyone of you lacks wisdom let him ask GOD who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given him. But, let him ask in faith with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind. Let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the LORD; for he is a double minded man unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8.

A good example of this is King Saul: Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah and said to him, “Look you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make for us a king to judge us like all the nations.” But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” So Samuel prayed to the LORD and the LORD said, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me that I should not reign over them.” Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear the day before Saul came, “Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin and you shall anoint him commander over My people Israel that he may save My people from the Philistines; for I have looked upon My people because their cry has come to Me.” So when Samuel saw Saul the LORD said, “There he is, the man of whom I spoke to you. This one shall reign over My people.” Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on Saul’s head and kissed him and said: “Is it not because the LORD has anointed you commander over His inheritance?” When Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near the tribe of Benjamin was chosen. When he caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families the family of Matri was chosen. Saul the son of Kish was chosen but when they sought him he could not be found. Therefore they inquired of the LORD further, “Has the man come here yet?” The LORD answered, “There he is, hidden among the equipment.” So they ran and brought him from there; and when he stood among the people he was taller than any of the people from his shoulders upward. Samuel said to all the people, “Do you see him whom the LORD has chosen, that there is no one like him among all the people?” So all the people shouted, “Long live the King!” Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly, you have not kept the commandment of the LORD your GOD, which He commanded you. For now the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever, but now your kingdom shall not continue.” So Saul established his sovereignty over Israel and fought against all his enemies on every side. The word of the LORD came to Samuel, “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as King for he has turned back from following Me and has not preformed My commandments.” As Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe and it tore. So Samuel said, “The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you. The Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him. (Excerpts from I Samuel chapters 8-15)

Study I Samuel 8 thru 15 to understand the rise and fall of Saul, the only time he sought the wisdom of the LORD was when he was looking for his father’s lost donkeys and even then it was at the urging of his father’s servant who was with him. GOD raised up Saul and gave him everything he needed to be king and reign over the nation of Israel and defeat all of its enemies. GOD gave Saul many opportunities to repent and to seek Him and to keep His commandments, but Saul did not seek for GOD’s wisdom in how to accomplish all the he was called to do as king he did not even seek the LORD when he knew he had sinned and needed to repent, he asked Samuel to pray to the LORD for him to be forgiven. Therefore Saul did everything in his own understanding and strength and they always failed him.

Compare Saul to David whom GOD chose to replace Saul, David was a man of violence and sinned before the LORD, yet GOD called David, “A man after My own heart.” Why? Because he kept the commandments of the LORD and he always truly repented and personally sought the wisdom of GOD in everything that he did. Study 1 Samuel 16 thru 2 Samuel 24 and 1 Kings 1 thru 2.

Solomon the son of David asked for the wisdom of GOD to rule the people of Israel and the LORD gave it to him. He became the wisest and richest King of Israel ever and his reign was a reign of peace and prosperity for Israel. Yet he turned away from the LORD and GOD divided the kingdom between his son Rehoboam and one of Solomon’s servants, Jeroboam. GOD gave the northern kingdom of 10 tribes to Jeroboam and Judah and Benjamin to Rehoboam. Both Rehoboam and Jeroboam rejected the wisdom of GOD and sought to reign as they desired. Study 1 Kings 2 thru 14.

So education, experience and the wisdom of the LORD is not enough if we are to serve the LORD we must also be humble and repentant, obeying His commandments as given not as we interpret them. We must seek His Kingdom first and do His will above everything else.

If we do not have His Spirit living in us and do not have His wisdom, knowledge, understanding and discernment we will not be able to keep His commandments and do His will! GOD’s commandments are in His Word to humanity, the Bible. His wisdom, knowledge, understanding and discernment are found as we learn and live His Word and follow the instruction and discipline of His Holy Spirit.

It’s the without and within lifestyle of Christianity that allows us to hear GOD, know GOD and serve GOD. If we believe GOD’s Word in our heart and live it for everyone to see in humility as the LORD directs then we can be friends of Jesus not servants, John 15:9-17, “As the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments you shall abide in My love, just as I have kept My father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you that My joy may remain in you and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another.”

To be the friend of GOD we must obey Him and keep His commandments! If we are the friend of GOD then we will keep His commandments and obey Him!

Friendship with GOD is produced by obedience because obedience is better than sacrifice. Sacrifice is religious works that bear no fruit just responsibility and guilt in not being able to perform or pride and judgment of others in selfrighteousness rather than humbly recognizing our personal need of GOD’s presence, guidance and love. Life and Death

Life and Death

“…that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of his suffering, being conformed to His death,,,” Philippians 3:10.
Most of us understand the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering even if we do not want to experience them, well the suffering part for sure.

We all want the power of His resurrection working out in our life now, we want the resurrection life of Christ while we live this life. Many of us understand the fellowship of His suffering part of which is the testing, trials and tribulations of life as a Christian. Reject by family, friends and the world even as Christ experienced it is also part of the suffering. People calling our transformed life and the works of GOD that we do as stupid and evil, etc.

To me the crux of this passage is being conformed to His death, in the King James it says unto, to me this has a deeper meaning. In modern English the word to has a pretty generic meaning, we used to have two words, to and too. To was a designation or destination like, “Take me to the store.” Too meant to be included like also, “When I went to the store my wife went too.” All that to say that unto has a greater meaning today than to. I want to be included in His death, I don’t just want to understand what it means for my life I want to experience His death.

How do we do that? How do we experience Jesus’ death? The answer is in the Gospels! Jesus said several times, “Take up your cross.” A couple of times He included, “..and follow Me.”, He made these statements to the Jews in general and to His disciples specifically. He also said a couple of times, “If you save your life you will lose it and if you lose your life for My sake you will live.”, again He made these statements to both the Jews in general and specifically to His disciples.

So what was Jesus telling us that Paul stated he desired to do? Become a Christian, get crucified and die? Not in a physically literal sense! But, in a practically literal sense! Just like Jesus who left His glory as GOD to be born as a man and live a natural physical human life, He faced temptation just as we do, He resisted sin just as we are supposed too, Jesus only did what He saw the Father doing and He only said what He heard the Father saying. When once as a man when He struggled with the suffering He faced He called out to His Father, “If it is possible let this cup pass from Me, nevertheless not My will but Your’s be done.” Jesus did what He taught us to do, He did the will of His Father over what He preferred knowing the physical, emotional and spiritual suffering that He was about to experience!

When the scriptures say, “Obedience is better that sacrifice.”, this is what it means. Yet sometimes obedience is sacrifice, even unto death, as it says in Revelation 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony and not loving their lives over death.” The same thing that Paul was saying to the Philippians, to experience the power of Jesus’ resurrection you must participate in His suffering and be fully conformed to His death.

The death of self to your own physical, emotional and spiritual desires and needs; death of self to what the world (family, society, culture, religion) says and offers physically, emotionally and spiritually, death of self to everything that is not what GOD is doing and saying to us!

How do we know what GOD is doing and saying? By reading and studying His word, the Bible, to humanity everyday; by spending time waiting on Him (in His presence) worshiping, praying and listening everyday; by asking His Holy Spirit who lives in us as born again believers in Jesus Christ to remind and teach us everything that Jesus said; by asking Him for His wisdom, knowledge, understanding and discernment; by seeking His gifts of the Spirit (word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits, diverse tongues, interpretation of tongues, miracles, healing, prophecy and faith ) and His Spiritual fruit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance) in our life.

When we are fully yielded to Him it is easier to live the life He formed, called and gifted us to live (His will) over the life of our desires (our will).

Study Philippians 3 and the Gospels, do a word search on obedience is better than sacrifice you will find that Jesus, Moses, David, several prophets, and Paul said it so it must be important.

Free Will?

Free Will

Free will, there is a deception! What is free about it? Yes it did not cost us anything to get it GOD gave it to us when He created us in His image. The difference is that He is GOD and we are not, He is Pure and we are not, He is Just and we are not, He is Righteous and we are not, He is Truth and we are not, He is Perfect and we are not.

So when GOD created humanity in Adam and Eve He gave them free will and Adam sinned by disobeying one simple rule, “Do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” That was the only rule! There were no other rules, they were to take care of the garden, but that was not a rule that was a responsibility based on their keeping the one rule.

Being GOD, He knew that this would be a problem otherwise why would Jesus have been crucified before the foundation of the world was laid. So GOD already had a plan of salvation for humanity when He created humanity in His image with free will.

The ability to freely choose came at a price, Jesus’ life and death as the sacrifice for sin for humanity. To redeem us back to the Father because that first act of free will gave away our responsibility and therefore our rights. Ever since then we have struggled with doing what is good or what is evil and most decide to do what is not good.

How do I come to that conclusion? Just look at the world, less than half of the people of the world claim to believe in the GOD of the Bible (who is the only true GOD), and less than half of them actually know and obey GOD.

The other deception about free will is that it is a right. We have the right to chose as we will. Actually it is only an ability and the choices we make all come with consequences. We are actually only choosing to obey GOD or not to obey GOD; every time we make a free will choice we are either obeying or disobeying GOD.

Therefore our free will choice just as Adam’s free will choice determine the current and next phase of our life based on the consequences of the results of our choice. When we choose to obey GOD the consequences will work to our favor and good, but when we choice disobedience to GOD then the consequences always lead to death. That was the known consequence for Adam and Eve and it is the know consequence for all humanity when we choose self will over GOD’s will.

Self will always leads to death and GOD’s will always leads to life. The consequences of sin is death and the consequences of obedience is life.

Jesus said He only came to do the will of His Father and we saw that in the garden of Gethsemane. “Father, if this cup could pass from Me, but not My will but Yours be done.” He also taught us to seek the Father’s will for ourself. “Our Father who is in Heaven, holy is Your name, Your Kingdom come Your will be done in the earth as it is in Heaven.” “Seek first the Kingdom of GOD and His righteousness and all of these things will be added to you.”

If doing the Father’s will was the only option for Jesus it should be the only option for us!

We have a free will but it is neither free nor a right and our decisions always come with consequences whether good or bad.
