How Do You Think About GOD?
How do you think about GOD? With your mind (understanding),
with your soul (emotions), with your spirit? The answer should be yes! All
three; mind, emotions and spirit; are redeemable and all three are
corruptible. The how we think about GOD
determines what we think about GOD.
The first issue is, are we redeemed or corrupted? If we are
redeemed we are aided in our thinking by the Spirit of GOD (Holy Spirit) and
the Word of GOD (the Bible). Our mind, emotions and spirit have been cleansed
from sin (washed in the Blood of the Lamb) and renewed (restored) by Holy
Spirit to the purpose that we were formed in our mother’s womb by Father GOD
for. If we are not redeemed than we are corrupted and cannot understand GOD or
know Him as our Heavenly Father; only as our eternal righteous judge.
So stop expecting your unbelieving family and friends (even
if they call themselves Christian) to understand when you are talking about
GOD, His eternal Kingdom even hell, they just cannot.
Why? Because they cannot see GOD as the only true GOD; they
cannot see Him as the creator of everything that exists and that there is an
actual plan and purpose; they cannot believe that GOD is one GOD and triune
(Father, Son and Spirit); they cannot believe that GOD knew before creation
that mankind would sin and reject Him and need salvation, much less that He had
already completed a plan of salvation; they cannot believe that GOD created
time, days, etc.; they cannot believe that GOD is Light, Life and Love; they
cannot believe that GOD is Truth, Righteousness and Justice; they cannot
believe that all things that exist are in Him, by Him and for His pleasure; they
cannot believe that Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sin free life; they
cannot believe that Jesus overcame the same temptations they face; they cannot
believe that GOD sent His Spirit to live in those who believe in Jesus; they
cannot believe that GOD is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, immutable,
immortal, invisible, invincible, eternal; they just cannot believe.
They can only believe what their minds which have been
corrupted by lies and darkness can comprehend, what they have been taught by
society; greed, pride, sexual lust, vanity, rejection (which leads to hate) and
abuse (which leads to destructive self esteem). These cause people to do all
sorts of evil to themselves and to others.
The inability to know and understand GOD leads to rejecting
GOD and His plan of salvation, Jesus Christ. That is why we (every Christian)
are called to be light and salt to the world; to lift up Jesus so that people
are drawn to Him; to love one another as He loves us and our neighbor (the
lost) as we love ourself, to take up our cross and follow Jesus (being conformed
to Jesus in His death and the fellowship
of His suffering by the power of His resurrection).
Knowing and understanding GOD means that we know and
understand that we are in a spiritual war that takes on physical and emotional battles,
but we also know and understand that He has given us His victory and made us
His temple (of Holy Spirit) in His Body (the Church); redeeming us, cleansing
us and forming us into His Bride to reign with Him over everything (even things
that we cannot imagine or comprehend) eternally.
That is why those who knew Him in the flesh could call
themselves His bondservants, why they could rejoice in tests, trials and
tribulations. That is why we live in greater faith then they, very few people
since the First Church have had personal physical encounters with Jesus. We can
only know Him personally through His Spirit and His Word; as we yield our will
to Jesus as He yielded His will to His Father, as we live in His Word led by
His Spirit, keeping His commandments; only then can we know Jesus and the
Father in a manner that allows us to have full confidence in Him and His
purpose for our life; to take up our cross, to lay down our life (spirit, soul
and body), to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, and to fear only
Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
