Incorrect Theology

Incorrect Theology

In worship we sang a song with the lyrics, “In the morning give me Jesus…When I’m lonely give me Jesus” This is theologically incorrect.

GOD is omnipresent; He is everywhere at all times; past, present and future! GOD created time; the seasons (the cycle of years), the division of day and night and the division of days and weeks into monthly (moon) cycles.
GOD is omniscient; He knows everything, nothing is hidden from Him and the dark is as light to Him, there are no secrets.
GOD is omnipotent; He is all powerful, nothing can overcome Him, He cannot be defeated, nothing He holds or claims as His own can be taken from Him.
Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of GOD the Father where He has seated us with Himself; where He has given all believers His victory over death and hell, where we rule with Him over principalities, powers and rulers of darkness.
The Spirit of GOD (Holy Spirit) lives in us; making us a living temple of the presence of GOD, reminding us of everything that Jesus said, bring forth His fruit so that we can grow and serve in GOD’s Kingdom and giving us His gifts for the work of GOD’s Kingdom.

We are often asking GOD to do what He has given us to do. It is part of having a free will; if we get to chose then we have to make up our mind to do it. I’ve heard Pastor Robert Morris say, “You cannot cast out a habit and you cannot disciple a demon.” That is the key if we have a bad habit we must discipline ourself to break it; if we are under spiritual attack we need to press into the ever presence of the LORD. To avoid bad habits and mitigate spiritual attacks we must disciple ourself or submit to someone qualified to disciple us in the Word of GOD, prayer and fasting and fellowship with other believers. If we cannot get the victory that Jesus has already given us then we may need deliverance from spiritual bondage and oppression.

When we say, sing or pray such things as, “Come LORD Jesus. Holy Spirit Fill us to overflowing. Father fill us with Your presence.” We should already have these things in our life; it’s not calling on the Father, Jesus or Holy Spirit to come to us or fill us–it’s us breaking through our distractions, working past our laziness and pressing into the Father’s will for us at that moment.

We have to do as Jesus commanded, “Take up you cross!” It is not easy, the process of being conformed to Christ’s image is through the fellowship of His suffering and being conformed to His death, but it is in the power of His resurrection.

We should not be asking GOD to do for us what He has given us to do! Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of GOD and all these things (provision for life) will be added to you.” We are often putting the responsibility on GOD for our blessings and gifts and to bring forth fruit in our life and GOD tells us to seek Him because He has already provided all that we need to live and serve in His eternal Kingdom.

I heard a TV pastor talking about life is a choice, “GOD does not make us do anything but He gives us choices. If we chose good we will be blessed, but if we chose the other; well we won’t talk about that.” Wrong! The first part is correct, but if we chose good we can still not be blessed, if we chose the other we can still be blessed. Why? GOD’s grace and blessings rain on the good and the bad the same. Life is not about good or bad it’s about GOD or not GOD. Jesus said, “Whoever is not against us is on our side.” There are only two sides, GOD’s side and not GOD’s side!
