The New York Times is 0.029% Truthful

President Trump Only Paid $750 Income Tax For 2016 & 2017

The New York Times 9-27-2020

As heard on the Timcast IRL 9-29-2020

The New York Times reported on 9-27-2020 that Donald Trump only paid $750 in income tax for 2016 and 2017 – which is true, but not the whole truth. If you read further in the article they state that in those years President Trump filed for extensions and paid the taxes presumed to be due which was $1,000,000 in 2016 and $4,200,000 in 2017. After the IRS finished their audit President Trump only owed $750 for each year and he left the rest with the IRS for future tax payments. So President Trump paid $5,200,000 for a $1500 tax debt. Remember that part of that income tax for 2017 was based on his salary as President, which he gave to charitable organizations.

So the New York Times highlighted the truth to fit their narrative! Then buried deep in the long article, much further than most people will read the full truth.

This is why most people have issues with the main stream media they have been caught telling lies, sometimes making them up themselves. When they tell the truth it is twisted to fit their negative narrative against President Trump!
