“Loved ones, let us Love one another, for Love is of GOD; and every one that Loves is Born of GOD and Knows GOD.” 1 John 4:7
“The characteristic of Love is spontaneity. In looking back we cannot tell why we did certain things, we did them according to the spontaneous nature of His Love in us.”
Oswald Chambers
There is much confusion and disharmony in the Church about the times we live in; government, social justice, freedom of…, righteousness, love, mercy, obedience and more. The one thing that No Christian should have a question about is Love!
From the beginning GOD commanded us to Love Him above everyone and everything else. Then He commanded us to Love each other no matter what!
The only thing we are allowed to hate is sin, the one thing that GOD hates; but not the sinner! JESUS came from The Father to deliver humanity from the power and bondage of sin; after His resurrection and ascension to the right hand of The Father, He began His rule over the Church, His body in the earth.
The one command He gave us wraps up all the Old and New Testament: Love GOD with all your heart, mind and strength and Love your neighbor as you Love yourself. That is the foundation of all GOD’s commands and the Commission CHRIST gave the Church!
“In those days, John the Baptist came preaching…’Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’…all around the region of Jordan went out to him and were baptized…confessing their sins…’Who warned you to flee the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance.’” Matthew 3:1-8
JESUS said, “Beware of false prophets…You will know them by their fruits.” and “I Am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
We get forgiveness and repentance mixed up! Asking GOD to forgive us our sins in JESUS is the first step in process of salvation; repentance is the second step the one that is harder. JESUS told us that to be His disciple we must humbly lay down our life and take up our cross daily. Paul reminded us that we have to work out our own salvation daily with fear and trembling. James told us that faith without works is dead.
When we ask GOD to forgive us our sins in JESUS, we are instantly forgiven and sometimes we are instantly set free from the power of sin. Repentance is the process of having our mind and body set free, by surrendering our whole life to GOD in CHRIST, we have to stop doing sin! We have to change our habits and behavior to reflect the New Life of CHRIST in us!
Seek GOD First!
GOD Bless, Bob & Charlene
