Sacrifice

Sacrifice

The Bible is full of references to sacrifice: under the Mosaic Law the Israelites were to make daily sacrifices. David made a huge sacrifice when he brought the Arc to Jerusalem; Solomon made a huge sacrifice when he finished the Temple, Elijah made a sacrifice when he challenged the prophets of Baal.  All the Hebrew feasts had specific sacrifices; there were sacrifices for sins, free will offerings, harvest and a sacrifice just in case I sinned.

The First Sacrifice: the first blood sacrifice required by GOD was made by GOD and is found in Genesis 3:21, “Also for Adam and his wife The LORD GOD made tunics of skin, and clothed them.” GOD had to kill animals to make their clothes; this is the first shedding of blood to cover the sins of humanity.

The Last Sacrifice: the last blood sacrifice required by GOD was made by JESUS on the cross for the sins of humanity, “”So when JESUS had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ And bowing His head, He gave up His SPIRIT.” John 19:30 “For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the Life that He Lives, He Lives to GOD.” Romans 6:10 This was the last shedding of blood to take away the sins of humanity.

The Continual Sacrifice: the continual sacrifice is not a blood sacrifice it is a life sacrifice. “I am crucified with CHRIST, nevertheless I live, yet not I but CHRIST Lives in me and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by the Faith of The Son of GOD Who Loved me and gave His Life for me.” Galatians 2:20

“For you once were in darkness, but now you are Light in The LORD. Walk as children of Light (for fruit of The SPIRIT is in all Goodness, Righteousness, and Truth), finding out what is acceptable to The LORD. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest in The Light, for whatever makes manifest is Light. Therefore He says: ‘Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and CHRIST will give you Light.’ See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what The Will of The LORD is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with The SPIRIT, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to The LORD, giving thanks always for all things to GOD The Father in The Name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, submitting to one another in the fear of GOD.” Philippians 5:8-21
