A Prayer For The United States Of America

A Prayer For The United States Of America

LORD GOD Almighty; You who called us who were not a people to be a people who desired to worship You in Spirit and Truth; You who made us who were not a nation to be a nation of the Light of Your Kingdom to the nations; You who gave us who had no government a government based on morality, integrity and righteousness (Your Ten Commandments); have mercy on us who have rejected you and turned our back on Your call and purpose for us as a nation.

LORD GOD Almighty, have mercy on us as you bring Your righteous judgment on our nation. Forgive us our sin of rejecting You and Your purpose for us as a nation. Forgive us that we have allowed lies and deception into every level of our government and society. Have mercy on us as You convict us of our sin, showing us every area where we have allowed the will of Your enemy to have preeminence over Your will; where we have allowed immorality to be the norm, where we have allowed those who lack integrity to make the decisions of how we should live our lives.

LORD GOD Almighty, have mercy on us as we have allowed those who serve Your enemy the devil to lead our nation into the darkness that opens the way for his rule over us; that we as a nation would willingly serve and worship the anti-christ and receive his mark when it is offered.

LORD GOD Almighty, You who created everything that exists, You who hold all things in the palm of Your hand and You who dwell in the heart of those who love and obey You; have mercy on us who reject Your call and purpose for us as individuals, families and communities as we pursue Your Kingdom for our own benefit and purposes.

LORD Jesus, risen savior and ascended LORD of creation; have mercy on us who lift up our vision and our name rather than You. Forgive us who use You for our gain and fame rather than Your humility and heart of laying down our life for others as You laid down Your life for us.

Heavenly Father, have mercy on us as you bring correction to our government and society at every level. Expose the liars, the cheaters, those who lack integrity, those who lack morality and those whose agenda is opposed to You; bring them to repentance; but those who do not repent and hold to their lawlessness and rebellion expose them and remove them from their place of influence.

LORD GOD Almighty, have mercy on us as individuals, families, communities and as a nation as You convict us and cleanse us in Your righteous judgment of our sin! Restore us as a nation that is a Light of Your Kingdom to the nations and a friend of Your people Isra’el.

We ask in the name of Jesus Christ , our LORD, Savior, Advocate and Intercessor.

ChristMass 2018

It is December 25, 2018, ChristMass morning and I cannot sleep, so here I am waiting to hear what GOD has to say to me.

The song “Victory In Jesus” keeps running through my mind, “There’s victory in Jesus my savior forever; He sought me and He bought me with His redeeming Blood; He loved me err I knew Him and all my love is due Him; He plunged me to victory beneath His cleansing Blood.”
This song really is the gospel – Our victory is only in Jesus who redeems us by His Blood into eternal life. Not because we hear about Him and what He did but because He pursued us when we did not even know Him. He loved us and saved us by washing away our sins in His Blood.

So why do we celebrate birthdays? In many cultures only certain birthdays are celebrated, ages that have to do with coming of age. In America we celebrate the birth date of family and friends every year they are alive; some even celebrate them of those who have died. We celebrate the birth dates of people we consider famous or worthy by how they lived their life long after they have died.

Most of the world knows about Christmas but today many do not associate it as the birth of Christ. It is a time of showing love by giving gifts and doing good deeds for others, especially those in need.
So why do we not remember that ChristMass is about celebrating the greatest birth in human history? The birth of GOD as a man so that He could save humanity from eternal damnation. Something that GOD planned before He even created humanity and fulfilled at the appointed time in history so that humanity could be saved.

In our western culture it is because those who hate GOD and want to deny that He exists have convinced those who actually believe in GOD and Christ that they should not force their belief on others (which is what they are doing). And many Christians because they are not Christ ians (those who love and obey Christ as He loved and obeyed GOD) have excepted what the GOD haters have said as if it were true. Their reality of hating and denying GOD does not make it truth; GOD is truth.

Those who hate GOD and Christ have the right (by free will) to do so, but they do not what those who love and obey GOD to have the same right to express and live accordingly. I say GOD haters because a true atheist would not care, if someone does not believe is any god why would they care or be offended if someone else did?  There are people who believe that Americans did not go to the moon and they tell their theories of how it was all faked.  So what, most of the world knows that we did and don’t care what those who do not believe have to say. If a person were truly an atheist (some one that does not believe in any god) he would not care if I believed in Jesus and lived my life accordingly. Why would he?

Before I became a Christ ian I believed that there was a GOD but I did not know anything about Him and I did not want to know anything about Him and I ignored those who wanted to tell me about Him, I just did not care. So why would an atheist care or be offended if I believed in Jesus? At the most he might think I was a fool and just blow me off if I tried to tell him about Jesus, but why would he want to tear down all crosses and deny me my American right of freedom of expression?

No, those who claim to be atheists but want to remove all signs of Christ ianity and deny me my right to express what I believe while retaining his right to express what he believes is really just a GOD hater. GOD haters are not atheists they are those who want to remove all evidence of GOD to ease their conscience of the guilt of their lawlessness against GOD in the hopes that they will not be judged for their sin.

The truth is, “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so the Son of Man must be lifted up that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.  GOD so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have ever lasing life. GOD did not send His son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes is not condemned but he who does not believe in the only begotten Son of GOD is condemned already. And this is the condemnation, that the Light came into the world and the world hated the Light, but they loved the darkness because their hearts were evil. For everyone who hates the Light does not come to the Light so that his deeds are not exposed. But he that does the truth comes to the Light that his deeds may be seen that they are done in GOD.” John 3:14-21

Christmas or Christ's Mass?

CHRIST’s Mass

Why do we celebrate Chris mass? It was originally Christ’s Mass, the celebration of the birth of the savior of the world. Why are we called Chris tians? We are imitators of Christ and were first called Christ ians at Antioch.
Somewhere in the languages of the western cultures we have morphed Christ into Chris without any care that we are mispronouncing Jesus’ title, The Christ! We never call Jesus the Chris!
Now everyone in the world understands that our pronunciation of Chris tian has the same meaning as Christ ian and everyone is used to this pronunciation and I doubt most Christ ians care.
Does it hurt Jesus’ feelings that we mispronounce His title? I don’t know, He never told me it did or did not; but I have thought about this a lot over the last 2 decades.

And what is it that we celebrate at Christmas time? Christ ians celebrate the birth of the savior of humanity as a human baby through His birth to a virgin woman. We celebrate His miraculous conception by GOD’s Holy Spirit and His life of overcoming sin and temptation as a human man. We celebrate that He obediently went to the cross; having been whipped nearly to death; shed His blood and died in our place so that we are delivered from the power of sin and temptation, healed in our spirit, soul and body and redeemed to our Heavenly Father as His Children, joint heirs with Jesus of the Eternal Kingdom of GOD.
But, I have seldom heard it stated that we are celebrating the promise of GOD for humanity kept. The promise that GOD made before He created the earth or humanity; if you have been a follower of Christ for very long you should know the scripture that says, “…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
Yes, GOD promised to redeem us to Himself before He even created humanity; before He even created everything in the natural realm in which we exist. This is one of the things that we need to be celebrating and not just at this time of year!
Everything that we need to know and understand about GOD is that when we were just a concept of His desire, He already knew that we would need to be redeemed and restored to His original desire for us. So He promised to do that by determining to be born as a human man but not of the human male bloodline, Jesus would be born of GOD by a virgin. Then as the Son of GOD/Son of Man He would do everything that the Father told Him to do and say everything that the Father told Him to say and to yield His will to the Father’s will.
GOD’s promise to humanity was that no matter how far humanity strayed from GOD in our relationship and obedience He would redeem back to Himself all who were willing to give up their natural life for His eternal life by believing in and living for Jesus the Christ.

What has GOD called You to do?

What Has GOD Called You To Do?

You’ve heard it said, “It’s my way or the highway!” and “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” Jesus tells us His way is the highway to Heaven, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life no one comes to the Father except through Me!” “Enter by the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and there are many who go in by it, because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life and there are few who find it.”

For all those who are looking for the good life and have been taught that it should be easy or prosperous or always victorious, that things will always work out in your favor; please study what Jesus said as recorded in the Gospels and what the life experience of the first believers in Jesus life was like as found in Acts and Foxe’s Book of Martyrs.

Jesus would not have said things like, “No one can take you from the Father.” if someone was not going to try. “Blessed are those who are persecuted for Righteousness’ for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven, for they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” “Your family will persecute you, cause you to be imprisoned and kill you for believing in Me and think they are serving GOD.” unless persecution was going to be a normal part of living the Christian life.

The focus of the modern western Church has become one of comfort and being blessed by GOD because we believe and confess that Jesus is our redeemer. We have forgotten that Jesus is our LORD and Redeemer! He created us from the dust of the earth in Adam, He made us a living spirit at the moment of our conception and formed us in our mother’s womb gifting and calling us for the purpose of His Kingdom on the earth and for eternity. He wrote out the days of our life before any of them existed, He pursued us until we came to the place of seeing our need for salvation and understanding that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He cleansed us in the Blood of the Lamb washing away our sin, filled us with His Spirit making us His living Temple. In return He expects us to live our life for Him as Jesus gave His life for us. Jesus expects us (because He told us) to keep His commandments and to love one another so that the world would know that we are His disciples. We are told to be holy as GOD is Holy, or set apart to GOD, by GOD, for GOD.

Christianity Is Not About What Jesus Can Do For You, It Is About What GOD Called You To Do For Jesus!

What is your gift and calling? What does GOD expect you to do in the earth and for eternity? Many Church leaders teach that this life is a preparation for our eternal call and many teach that we are in the army of GOD doing His warfare in the earth. These are true teachings but most Christians do not believe nor live by this standard. We are called to the warfare of GOD’s Kingdom on the earth, we will be attacked by His enemy the devil and his forces; but Jesus already gave us the victory! We are not to attack but to resist the devil, our offensive work is to preach the Gospel to all the nations and make them disciples of GOD’s Kingdom; to lay hands on the sick and see them recover, to cast out demons and raise the dead.

There are three basic groups of Christians, those who are almost always defeated and asking for prayer because they do not understand why they cannot not access the good life they are always hearing others talk about; those who are looking for a fight with the devil and his cohorts, running around doing things they are not called to do (see Matthew 7:21-23); and those who yield their life and will back to the Father to do the work He has called and gifted them for as Holy Spirit directs.

Study the gospels, Jesus never attacked the devil or people; the devil tempted Jesus and Jesus spoke the Word of GOD; the devil used humans to tempt and attack Jesus and Jesus yielded to the will of the Father even to going to the Cross.

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi Ha asked His disciples, “Who do men say that I, the son of man am?” They said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” Jesus asked, “Who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ the Son of the Living GOD.” Jesus said, “Blessed are you Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in Heaven. I also say that you are Peter (a stone) and on this rock (foundation) I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.” Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ. Matthew 16:13-20

There is still some confusion in the Church about this passage but it should be clear, Jesus said that Simon was also Peter, meaning a stone; Paul teaches that all believers are living stones built on the solid rock foundation of Jesus Christ. Jesus said that the gates of hell will not be victorious against the Church build on the foundation of Christ and the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven is that whatever the Church binds or loses on earth will be bound or loosed in Heaven (this is often misunderstood and misused).

Paul tells us that we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers and rulers of darkness and he tells us to put on our armor for the warfare; helmet of Salvation, breastplate of Righteousness, shoding our feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace, the girdle or belt of Truth, the shield of Faith and the sword of the Spirit which is the Living Word. While the shield and sword are both for defense and offence the whole armor is more to resist than to attack. Paul taught us to, “Stand fast in the liberty where Christ has made us free.” to, “Resist the devil and he will flee.” We are never in the scriptures told to attack the devil or those who work for him. While we live in the world we are no longer part of the world and our fight is not against the world, the world is where we live in the natural life. The world was not made for the devil, he was cast out of heaven to the world and he gained rule over the world by Adam’s sin. Humanity was supposed to rule over the world but Adam threw that away by his disobedience to GOD’s one command, “Do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”  Before we had the knowledge of good and evil we knew no sin, since humanity acquired that knowledge we have done nothing but sin. Knowing this “Christ was crucified before the foundation of the world.”

Solomon said, “A man’s steps are ordered by the LORD, so how can a person understand his own ways?” “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its’ end is destruction.”
Meaning GOD has ordained our steps or the path of our life; if we go by our own understanding and decisions then we will not understand why the things that happen to us happen. But if we yield our will to the Father and follow the leading of His Spirit then we will be able to have peace no matter what happens to us.

What is Trust?

What is Trust?

“What little trust you have!”
Matthew 6:30b CJB

Everyone understands that trust is depending on others to keep their word, that strangers are honest and helpful, that we’re getting a good deal that is trust. We trust the government to have our best interest in the laws they pass, that our schools will actually teach our children what they need to succeed educationally.

But, trust is also hopeful, we trust that we have raised our children so that they will be honest and helpful people, that they will make us proud, that they understand who we are and who they are, that they will love and care for us when we need it.

These are natural trusts, trusts that make life a little easier when they are rewarded by the actions of others. What about trusting GOD? Why is there such a disparity of trust in GOD by Christians?

Some denominations teach that you will not know if you are saved for sure until you die and face GOD. Some teach that if you are not in right standing with GOD when you die, those alive must pray for you and pay penance for you so that you go to heaven. Some teach that you have to be baptized in water to be saved; so some believe that you can be baptized for a dead person so they will go to heaven. Some teach that only the most holy and righteous will go to heaven and the rest will live in the new earth. Some don’t even believe in hell or eternal judgment; that everyone will eventually go to heaven. Some do not believe that the Bible is the Word of GOD for humanity. Yet all these claim to be Christian.

And they all have to do with trusting GOD! If we do not trust that GOD is who He says He is then we cannot trust the Bible. We cannot trust GOD to just redeem us by the shed Blood of Jesus so we have to figure out how to get saved. And there are scriptures that can confuse us when taken out of context, like, “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” Many Christians believe that is saying we have to get our life in order for GOD to save us or even help us; that we have to live right by the 10 Commandments; that we have to toe the line.

That is a legalistic way of making sure we are saved and going to heaven. While GOD does require us to live our life by the 10 Commandments that is where trust starts; we have to believe that everything the Bible says is true and that everything that Jesus did is enough. We have to trust like the early Christians did; that the testing, trials and tribulations of life are part of GOD’s conforming us into the image of Christ so that we can do the Father’s works in the earth just as Jesus did. “Father, Your will be done not mine!” “I only do what I see My Father in Heaven doing; I only say what I hear My Father in Heaven saying!”

The reason why so many Christians have a hard time in trusting GOD is they have been taught to not trust that GOD is who He says He is and that the Bible is His divinely inspired Word for humanity. They have been taught that they have to do so much themselves rather than letting GOD work in them His will and purpose. Some denominations teach that GOD wants us to live a happy, prosperous, good life and that the devil, who is a liar, a thief and a murderer (this is true) is just trying to steal what GOD has for us. While on it’s face value this is a true statement they neglect the fact that Jesus said we would be persecuted by family, friends and fellow believers to the point of imprisonment and death. The early believers understood this and even though they praised GOD for the joy of their salvation and proclaimed it through the world doing the will and works of GOD they were persecuted, imprisoned and killed for their faith. Not the good live we hear about in the Western Church world today. Even recently when a missionary was killed trying to reach an unreached people group, Christians criticized him and the mission organization that supported him for doing what he knew GOD called him to do.

When we hear from GOD we have to do what He calls us to do no matter what others think or say; but we do have to do it in His timing and way. It took Jesus just over a year to complete His mission ministry to Israel. He spent 30 years submitting to His earthly parents and local authorities preparing for His one plus year of ministry, but in that time He prepared the disciples to receive His Spirit and to start evangelizing the world; which is still going on.  They understood the cost and they taught the cost to the new believers.

At the moment of our conception GOD gives us a spirit and we became a living being, He then gifts and calls us to live according to His purpose for our life, to the point that He wrote out the days of our life before any of them existed. Now He did create humanity with a free will and He knew that we would rebel so before the foundation of the earth was laid Christ was crucified so that every person born could be saved by faith in Jesus.

Faith as the Bible defines it is, The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV) Faith is the issue of trust; if we have faith in GOD then we must trust Him explicitly! Therefore trust works out in every detail of our life. This can be the hard part, trusting GOD for everything by seeking, waiting, learning and doing what we hear from the Bible and hear from His Spirit (Holy Spirit). Faith and trust are the same, if we have faith in GOD then we trust Him; if we trust Him then we have faith in Him.

This is an area where I have my own struggles trusting and waiting; like everything I write about; it is what GOD is dealing with me about.

But those that wait on the LORD will renew their strength; Isaiah 40:31a NKJV

Perseverance is the proof of trust! Holding on till the end of the race, in the race of GOD’s will we do not have to be the first to finish but we have to finish too get the crown. If we trip we have to get up and resume the race. Perseverance is the evidence that we believe the Word of GOD and trust GOD to do what He says.

Trust is always followed by obedience; trust and obedience always go together! If we trust GOD we will be obedient! Jesus learned and was obedient and obedience is a requirement of salvation! (1 Samuel 15:22-23; Hosea 6:6; Luke 2:52; John 8:28-29; Romans 12:1-2; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 5:8)

Study Isaiah 40; Matthew 6; Philippians 2; Hebrew 5

GOD's Purpose!

The three American friends on the 15:17 train to Paris that stopped a terrorist attack were the servants of GOD not just for that moment but at that moment they fulfilled what GOD called them to do.

What I believe does not take away from the bravery of overcoming the situational fear and acting to prevent the death of others; all the persons that resisted and attacked the terrorist and thwarted his plans of a mass murder in the name of his god risked their own lives for themselves and others.

What I believe GOD showed me this morning is that the unknown goal of the terrorist was the murder of someone on that train that GOD was protecting for His own purpose. The terrorist did not even know that, he was just the tool of the devil but GOD had a plan to protect that person (GOD did not reveal to me who it was or why). Those who acted against the terrorist did not know GOD’s ultimate plan, but they knew their purpose at that moment.

Having seen their testimonies on a couple of shows and watched the movie I believe Spencer Stone, the one American who had been through so much in training and preparation was beginning to understand before the event that GOD had prepared him for this moment. He did not get to fulfill his desire to be in the Air Force Pararescue due to a lack of depth perception but all his training came into play at one time for GOD’s purpose.

There were three other men that confronted and helped subdue the terrorist during this attack and all of them whether they understood at the time or not were used by GOD and everyone on the train survived.

This is how the devil works: the devil deceives and destroys a person until they will do without question or regard and with the desire to die in the process the evil he wants done without even knowing the devil’s real reason or underlying purpose.

I have noticed how often after a terrorist attack is thwarted that the terrorist just starts talking to authorities and telling them everything; I believe that is because while under the power of the devil to accomplish the attack once the attack is prevented the devil abandons them as a useless tool no longer good for anything.

This is how GOD works: He forms us in our mother’s womb, calls and gifts us for His Kingdom purposes. He pursues us through our life calling us out of the darkness of the world into the Light of His eternal Kingdom. He uses life’s difficulties and issues to form us into the person He wants us to be, he prepares us to use the gifts He has given us and prepares us to accomplish the call He placed on our life. When things happen along the way that detour our life and keep us from doing His will He still loves us and pursues us and works in our life to get us back on His track for our life. When that one great event happens He does not set us on a shelf but He still has other purposes for us to accomplish for His Kingdom in the earth. If we in this process realize who GOD is and that He has an eternal plan of salvation for us and we become a believer in Jesus then our call will never end (Yes I believe GOD uses people who do not ever come to the full realization of His plan of eternal salvation but have found the call and gifts He gave them and He is able to use them for the purpose of His Kingdom in the earth).

Just a couple of weeks after the terrorist attack Spencer was stabbed in a bar fight, in his home town, more seriously than he had been injured during the terrorist attack. Spencer was in a place where he should not have been as a Christian and this shows that the devil does not forget those whom GOD uses to defeat him. I believe GOD protected Spencer this time just to poke a finger in the devils eye and remind him that GOD loves and keeps those who serve Him.

Remember if you are not serving GOD you are serving the devil!

Proverbs 9

Proverbs 9
From The Complete Jewish Bible

Wisdom has built herself a house; she has carved her seven pillars. She has prepared her food, spiced her wine, and she has set her table. She has sent out her young girls [with invitations]; she calls from the heights of the city, “Whoever is unsure of himself, turn in here!” To someone weak-willed she says, “Come eat my food! Drink the wine I have mixed! Don’t stay unsure of yourself, but live! Walk in the way of understanding!”

Wisdom as introduced in the first 9 chapters of Proverbs is a spirit of GOD not just something we gain by study, experience and prayer. Here she (wisdom is always referred to as a female in the Bible) invites those who are unsure of themselves to partake of the sustenance she has prepared so that they may live; not just the physical life that they already have but the life that GOD calls each of us to live for Him.

“He who corrects a scoffer only gets insulted; reproving a wicked man becomes his blemish. If you reprove a scoffer, he will hate you; if you reprove a wise man, he will love you. Give to a wise man, and he grows still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will learn still more.”

Here wisdom is teaching us what Jesus taught, that those who have much will receive more and those who have little will lose what they have. We must never stop pressing into GOD but we must always be studying His Word, waiting in His presence and praying in His Spirit (Holy Spirit). Jesus taught that there are those who believe they are saved but they are not; they believe they have a relationship with Him but they do not. How is that? It may be that they have locked in on one aspect of who GOD is and what He has done for humanity and made that a religion. It may be that they have been taught a false doctrine and because they do not study the Bible and wait on GOD and pray in His Spirit that they do not grow into the fuller understanding of who GOD is and what He calls each of us to do in His Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. There are also those who through their own intellect and pride think they have learned more than all the rest of us or learned all that there is to know of GOD and therefore they also go astray and lead others in their error.

“The fear of ADONAI is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of holy ones is understanding. For with me, your days will be increased; years will be added to your life, if you are wise, your wisdom helps you; but if you scoff, you bear the consequences alone.”

Jesus taught us that we are not to fear men or the devil who can only kill the body; but we are to fear GOD who can destroy both soul and body in hell (eternal death). If we have hearing ears then we should hear what the Spirit says; if we have seeing eyes then we should see what the Spirit does. These are not automatic we have to exercise hearing and seeing by studying the Bible, waiting in the presence of GOD and praying in His Spirit. When we fall into error; whether we come up with it on our own or we just follow what someone else teaches; we alone will stand before GOD in judgment. We, each and every human, has the responsibility to seek GOD first and His righteousness!

The foolish woman is coarse; she doesn’t think, and she doesn’t know a thing. She sits at the door of her house or on a seat at the heights of the city, calling to those who pass by, to those going straight along their ways, “Whoever is unsure of himself, turn in here!” To someone weak-willed she says, “Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is pleasant.” But he doesn’t realize that the dead are there, and that those who accept her invitation are in the depth of Sh’ol.

The foolish woman spoken of in the Proverbs is also a spirit of GOD; a fallen spirit of lawlessness and disobedience to GOD that leads the foolish, lazy and corrupt into greater darkness and deception; into eternal damnation! It is easy for those on the straight and narrow to be lead off the path if they become complacent, satisfied with their place in life, feel they have done enough and just want to enjoy their life or they become hurt and think GOD does not care or has abandoned them. These are lies and deceptions that come from not continuing to study the Bible, waiting on GOD (no matter how long in our terms it takes) and praying in His Spirit.

But GOD is merciful and loving and He has a plan for every person ever conceived! He forgives us our sin in Jesus Christ and He continues to forgive us as we seek Him first and His righteousness. But He expects us to keep seeking, keep knocking, keep praying (asking), keep worshiping and keep rejoicing no matter what is happening!

24 Hours

There is a song about love:
What a Diff'Rence a Day Makes
What a difference a day made
Twenty-four little hours
Brought the sun and the flowers
Where there used to be rain
My yesterday was blue, dear
Today I'm a part of you, dear
My lonely nights are through, dear
Since you said you were mine
Lord, what a difference a day makes
There's a rainbow before me
Skies above can't be stormy
Since that moment of bliss
That thrilling kiss
It's heaven when you
Find romance on your menu
What a difference a day made
And the difference is you

The real difference of 24 little hours is GOD!

In 24 hours millions of children are conceived and GOD gives each one a living spirit, gives them a gift and call for His Kingdom and writes out the days of their lives according to His will for their life. Millions of people die and GOD receives them into their eternal state of judgment or reward. Billions of prayers are spoken or thought and GOD hears and answers each one.

In six consecutive 24 hour days GOD created everything that has to do with humanity.

In three 24 hour days Christ died to redeem us to GOD and remove the veil to His presence; defeated death and hell and took the keys of their domains; and rose from the grave taking away the sting of death.

In one 24 hour day Christ gave His Spirit to His disciples and stared His Church with 5000 new believers.

In one 24 hour day Christ will return, bind the devil and establish His 1000 year reign in Jerusalem.
In one 24 hour day GOD will defeat and judge the devil and all His enemies, judge all humanity living and dead, destroy the earth and heaven and create a new earth and heaven and set up His rule in the New Jerusalem.

The things that we struggle with in any 24 hour day are noting to the things that GOD accomplishes in every 24 hour day. The Bible tells us that GOD loves us so much that nothing or on one can take us from Him. So we should not be overwhelmed by our 24 days and all their activities. We just need to trust Him who holds everything in His hands with our life.

Incorrect Theology

Incorrect Theology

In worship we sang a song with the lyrics, “In the morning give me Jesus…When I’m lonely give me Jesus” This is theologically incorrect.

GOD is omnipresent; He is everywhere at all times; past, present and future! GOD created time; the seasons (the cycle of years), the division of day and night and the division of days and weeks into monthly (moon) cycles.
GOD is omniscient; He knows everything, nothing is hidden from Him and the dark is as light to Him, there are no secrets.
GOD is omnipotent; He is all powerful, nothing can overcome Him, He cannot be defeated, nothing He holds or claims as His own can be taken from Him.
Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of GOD the Father where He has seated us with Himself; where He has given all believers His victory over death and hell, where we rule with Him over principalities, powers and rulers of darkness.
The Spirit of GOD (Holy Spirit) lives in us; making us a living temple of the presence of GOD, reminding us of everything that Jesus said, bring forth His fruit so that we can grow and serve in GOD’s Kingdom and giving us His gifts for the work of GOD’s Kingdom.

We are often asking GOD to do what He has given us to do. It is part of having a free will; if we get to chose then we have to make up our mind to do it. I’ve heard Pastor Robert Morris say, “You cannot cast out a habit and you cannot disciple a demon.” That is the key if we have a bad habit we must discipline ourself to break it; if we are under spiritual attack we need to press into the ever presence of the LORD. To avoid bad habits and mitigate spiritual attacks we must disciple ourself or submit to someone qualified to disciple us in the Word of GOD, prayer and fasting and fellowship with other believers. If we cannot get the victory that Jesus has already given us then we may need deliverance from spiritual bondage and oppression.

When we say, sing or pray such things as, “Come LORD Jesus. Holy Spirit Fill us to overflowing. Father fill us with Your presence.” We should already have these things in our life; it’s not calling on the Father, Jesus or Holy Spirit to come to us or fill us–it’s us breaking through our distractions, working past our laziness and pressing into the Father’s will for us at that moment.

We have to do as Jesus commanded, “Take up you cross!” It is not easy, the process of being conformed to Christ’s image is through the fellowship of His suffering and being conformed to His death, but it is in the power of His resurrection.

We should not be asking GOD to do for us what He has given us to do! Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of GOD and all these things (provision for life) will be added to you.” We are often putting the responsibility on GOD for our blessings and gifts and to bring forth fruit in our life and GOD tells us to seek Him because He has already provided all that we need to live and serve in His eternal Kingdom.

I heard a TV pastor talking about life is a choice, “GOD does not make us do anything but He gives us choices. If we chose good we will be blessed, but if we chose the other; well we won’t talk about that.” Wrong! The first part is correct, but if we chose good we can still not be blessed, if we chose the other we can still be blessed. Why? GOD’s grace and blessings rain on the good and the bad the same. Life is not about good or bad it’s about GOD or not GOD. Jesus said, “Whoever is not against us is on our side.” There are only two sides, GOD’s side and not GOD’s side!

Study Luke 9:49-50, 11:14-23, 14:26-27; Matthew 6:25-34, 12:22-30; Mark 9:38-41; John 6:36-40; Hebrews 13:5; 1 Corinthians 12:30; Ecclesiastes 9:1-4; Job 2:9-10; Proverbs 15:3; Psalm 139:1-12

Philippians 4:8-9

Philippians 4:8-9

“Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do and the GOD of peace will be with you.” NKJV

There is a lot in these verses, when I first memorized verse 8 I did not really think about what all of these words meant to me and for me. Years later when I rememorized verse 8 I still did not think about the words and what they mean. Now I have it learned as a paraphrase rather than verbatim, yet until this morning (11/24/2018) I did not really think about what the words of these verses meant to and for me.

Today as I was thinking about verse 8 I thought of “good report”, this came right after I had asked the LORD to forgive me for thinking critically of someone. A good report is not thinking critically or judgmentally about another person or ministry. A good report is thinking of their good points and virtues and speaking only those things.

In verses 2 thru 7 Paul admonishes believers to be united, to be joyful and to pray, “…and the peace of GOD which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”, verse 7. But, verse 9 says that if we meditate on the words of verses 4 thru 8 then, “the GOD of peace will be with you.”

It is good to have the peace of GOD, but it is best to have the GOD of peace with us.

Right thinking is a problem in the Church, there is much incorrect and even evil thinking in the Church therefore we have neither the peace nor the presence of GOD in Christ Jesus as we should. That does not mean that we do not recognize and pray about false doctrine and ministries, we must speak against false teachings and those who espouse them.

David did not speak evil against King Saul, even though he had been anointed by Samuel the Prophet to replace Saul as King of Israel. But, he did speak to Saul of his evil in the presence of others. Paul when dealing with sin in the Church at times called people out by name and told the Church to be careful around them and even to avoid those who were teaching false doctrine. In verse 2 of this passage Paul calls the Church to minister unity and peace between two people by name; study chapter 3.

Jesus said that we must and would recognize people by the fruit of their lives and ministries. It is our responsibility to know the truth so that we can be set free. If we do not know the truth (GOD’s Word the Bible) and we do not have His Spirit (Holy Spirit) whom He sent to all believers, then we can be easily deceived and fall into the same judgment as those that teach lies as truth and self satisfaction as doctrine.

Why do people want to go to hell?

Why Do Some People Want To GO To Hell?

The personal internal reasoning will be different and not obvious to Christians or even others that reject GOD, but the underlying reason is that they do not truly understand GOD and hell.
The do not care that GOD loves them and has a plan for their life, they want to live their life as they please. Not that they are evil, some will live good, happy, moral lives; but they reject the life that GOD has for them. Some are ignorant of GOD’s love and desire to give them a better life; they just want to be left alone. Some are evil wicked people who want to take advantage of others for their own gain and pleasure.

What do they all have in common, whether they are atheists or follow some false religion or just think they know best how to live their life and fulfill their desired destiny? It that they actually know there is a GOD but they reject Him for whatever their reason is.
He who believes in Him (Jesus) is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the only begotten Son of GOD. And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light so that his deeds are not exposed. But he who does the Truth comes to the Light that his deeds may be clearly seen that they have been done in GOD.” “For the wrath of GOD is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and  unrighteousness of men who suppress the Truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of GOD is manifest in them for GOD has shown it to them.”  (John 3:18-21; Romans 1:18-19)

Now it would seem that my statement in the second paragraph contradicts the scripture in John 3:19-20, but they are not contradictory. In the world there are many who reject GOD but live happy moral lives, helping others and serving humanity and what they see as our great needs. While even Christians will look on them as good and decent people with moral motives; before GOD they are lawless. How are they lawless? This has nothing to do with man’s laws; they are lawless because they reject GOD’s Law, the Ten Commandments, maybe not all of them but the important first four. Those who are lawless before GOD are the same as the wicked and evil people. “Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” (Matthew 23:28) Also study Exodus 20 & 21:1-9; Deuteronomy 5:1-22; Matthew 7:21-23, 23:1-33; Hebrews 1:8-9; Psalm 45:6-7; Isaiah 61:1-3.

There are even those who call themselves Christian who are lawless. How are they lawless? They serve GOD out of their own desires and motives as they will rather that as He wills. “In this manner pray; ‘Our Father in Heaven, holy is Your name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in the earth as it is in Heaven’” Then Jesus said to them (the Jews), “Truthfully I say to you the Son can do nothing of Himself but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does the Son also does in like manner.” “I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear I judge; and My judgment is righteous because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.”  (Matthew 6:9-10; John 5:19, 30) Also study Matthew 6:25-34; 26:36-46; Mark 14:32-42; Luke 22:39-46; John 8:31-36, 17.

What happens when we are lawless? Professing to be wise they became fools and changed the glory of the incorruptible GOD into an image made like corruptible man – and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore GOD gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of GOD for the lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever, Amen.” (Romans 1:22-25)

Good or bad is not the issue! Doing the will of GOD for our life is! For Christians it is also a matter of GOD’s will over our will. Many will find their works burned up, not because they were evil but because they were not GOD’s will for them. GOD’s gift and call are without repentance (even many non-believers find GOD’s gift and call for their life, but by rejecting Him they still go to hell) but they do not earn rewards or build up treasure in Heaven if they are not GOD’s will and purpose for your life.

GOD is Great and Reckless

1-25-2018        11:30PM

Lying in bed where we are currently living we have glowing stars on the ceiling and I was looking at them and thinking how GOD had hung the stars in the heavens and had named them all; but more than that He created the planets that make up their solar systems and the solar systems that make up their galaxies and the galaxies that make up their universes.

While I was thinking about this in the back of my mind without having thought about it the theme from the movie 2001 Space Odyssey started playing, it was amazing.

As humans and as Christians we think too small of GOD when we think about Him. Even our greatest, grandest thoughts fall short of who and what GOD is. Even our deepest understanding of who GOD is from the Bible and from our observation of all that exists and our personal experience, fall short of who and what GOD is. In our wildest and grandest imaginations we cannot fully conceive of who and what GOD is.

This morning in worship our congregation sang two songs that speak into this. One talked about GOD’s love is fierce as a hurricane, the second song talks about GOD’s love is reckless in His pursuit of us.

We think of hurricanes as violent destructive forces so how do we apply that same force as GOD’s love for us? GOD is relentless and there is nothing that can keep GOD’s love from us; Jesus said that no one can take us from the Father (John 10:17-30); Paul says that there is nothing that can take us from GOD (Romans 8:31-39) and Hebrews 13:5 quotes Deuteronomy 31:8 that GOD “will never leave us or forsake us”.

When we think of reckless we think unreasonable behavior or actions that endanger us or others, behavior that leads to great harm or loss risking everything on a gamble. Yet GOD’s love for us is so reckless that He risked creation on creating humanity with a free will; He risked everything in ordaining that Christ would be born a man and live in the midst of sin and temptation even before he created the earth or humanity; He risked all of His creation for the few that would follow the straight and narrow way by believing in Jesus Christ, confessing and repenting of being a sinner and serve His Kingdom in the earth as it is in Heaven (Romans 8:18-22).

As Christians we need to think and understand GOD beyond our understanding and experiences, we have to stop limiting Him by our understanding and experiences, we have to allow GOD to Be after all He Is and He revealed Himself as I Am (self existent), creator, Love, Light, Life, and Truth

The Law of Moses

The Law of Moses
Notes and Thoughts from Teaching by Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj 2018

Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His commandments fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:22-24 NKJV

“Remember the Law of Moses My servant, which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold I send you Elijah the prophet before the coming great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” Malachi 4:4-6 NKJV

The Church has correctly and incorrectly taught that the Law of Moses was nailed to the cross and no longer applies to the Church. What is correct is that the ceremonial laws were nailed to the cross and no longer apply to Christians; Jesus continually chastised the religious leaders of Israel for following their ceremonial laws over the 10 commandments; the Sabbath, washings, eating, treatment of parents, and judging. Plus Jesus further defined the 10 commandments, murder is not just killing a person but hating them, sexual sin is not just doing it but thinking it, virtue in not public performance but private in the presence of GOD. Why would He discount their ceremonial laws and reemphasize the 10 commandments if He was going to nail them to the cross? In Acts 10 Peter had a vision of all kinds of animals being offered to him to eat by GOD and he refused because he had never eaten any unclean thing, but the LORD told Peter that, “What GOD has cleansed you must not call common.” Then Holy Spirit told him to go with some men without question and he did; he enter the house of a gentile (a Roman Centurion) and preached Jesus and all of the household were filled by Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. To this point the Church made up of Jews was still following many of the ceremonial laws; GOD brought persecution to the Church to get it out of Jerusalem and Judea into Samaria and into the rest of the world showing them that the ceremonial laws no longer applied to the Church. This was an issue all through the New Testament writings where the Jewish believers are trying to make gentile Christians obey the ceremonial laws of Moses like circumcision (which is not in the 10 commandments). The 10 commandments were not abolished and GOD expects His Church to keep and teach them.

Who is GOD?

Who Is GOD?

Who is GOD? What is GOD? Where is GOD? Universal questions that have been asked and answered by people practically from the beginning of time. Every people group has answered that question by giving names and powers to fictitious beings to answer their questions about creation, nature, about death and the good and evil of life.

In ancient times there were gods like Molech (Milcom), Baal, Ashtoreth, Beelzebub, Chemosh, Ra, Osiris; then the Greeks, Romans and Vikings all had multiple gods, today Indians have over a billion gods like Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma, and Krishna; Muslims have Allah and Mohammad; the Japanese have the Shinto gods; the Southeast Asians have the Buddha gods; and there are many more ancient and modern gods; including satan (lucifer).

All of these gods are vastly different and opposed to each other and the one True GOD based on the religious beliefs of the people that invented, discovered or were introduced to them. Some of them are outright hateful and evil in their treatment of their worshipers and non-worshipers alike.

So who or what is GOD? Actually, GOD is! There is only one true GOD, I AM! The GOD that created everything that exists just by His Word; the GOD who is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, immutable, invisible, invincible, immortal, truth, light, life, love, peace, holy, just and righteous.

The one true GOD reveals Himself to humanity by simply stating that He is and that He created everything; including humanity in His own image. In that declaration He reveals that He is triune in nature (The Father {Jehovah}, The Son {Jesus Christ}, The Spirit {Holy Spirit}). Throughout the Bible which is GOD’s instructions to humanity He reveals His personality and attributes through His numerous names: Jehovah, El, Elohim, Yahwey, Adoni, Christ (Messiah), Immanuel, Holy Spirit, Spirit of GOD, Son of GOD, Word of GOD and many more; there are also many compound names of GOD like El Shaddai, Jehovah T’sidkenu, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah and Elohim Chaseddi.

There is no other GOD like the one true GOD, to prove that just do word studies of the names of gods of various religions. Then study the names of GOD in the Bible.

The GOD of Judaism and Christianity is the only true GOD! Jehovah is the only one who actually fulfills the definition of the title GOD. Different religions give different definitions of who or what god is but, only Elohim fulfills them all and only the Bible is the true revelation of GOD to humanity.
There are religions that have books that their followers adhere to but they were written by the person who is the founder of that religion during their own lifetime. There are religions that claim to be Christian but deny the divinity of Jesus or the tri-unity of the Godhead, or the existence of hell or eternity, again their books were written by one person in their own lifetime. Only the Bible which is a collection of 66 books that were written by 40 men over a period of 4000 years that covers the history of the world from creation to the recreation (from mortality to Immortality).

There is only one GOD and there is only one way of salvation (not going to hell for eternity), the straight and narrow way is easy and hard. Believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of GOD, that He died to forgive the sins of humanity and went to hell to take our punishment upon Himself (while He was there He defeated death and hell), He rose from the grave and ascended to Heaven where He waits for the Church (Christians) to complete the work of the Father in the earth. Believing is the easy part doing the work of GOD’s will in the earth is the hard part.

While GOD created humanity with the ability to chose for ourself (self will) the two decisions that matter are to believe in Jesus or not believe in Jesus. Believing results in eternal life with GOD (Heaven), not believing results in eternal life without GOD in torment (hell).

The choice is yours and only yours!

How Do You Think About GOD?

How Do You Think About GOD?

How do you think about GOD? With your mind (understanding), with your soul (emotions), with your spirit? The answer should be yes! All three; mind, emotions and spirit; are redeemable and all three are corruptible.  The how we think about GOD determines what we think about GOD.
The first issue is, are we redeemed or corrupted? If we are redeemed we are aided in our thinking by the Spirit of GOD (Holy Spirit) and the Word of GOD (the Bible). Our mind, emotions and spirit have been cleansed from sin (washed in the Blood of the Lamb) and renewed (restored) by Holy Spirit to the purpose that we were formed in our mother’s womb by Father GOD for. If we are not redeemed than we are corrupted and cannot understand GOD or know Him as our Heavenly Father; only as our eternal righteous judge.

So stop expecting your unbelieving family and friends (even if they call themselves Christian) to understand when you are talking about GOD, His eternal Kingdom even hell, they just cannot.
Why? Because they cannot see GOD as the only true GOD; they cannot see Him as the creator of everything that exists and that there is an actual plan and purpose; they cannot believe that GOD is one GOD and triune (Father, Son and Spirit); they cannot believe that GOD knew before creation that mankind would sin and reject Him and need salvation, much less that He had already completed a plan of salvation; they cannot believe that GOD created time, days, etc.; they cannot believe that GOD is Light, Life and Love; they cannot believe that GOD is Truth, Righteousness and Justice; they cannot believe that all things that exist are in Him, by Him and for His pleasure; they cannot believe that Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sin free life; they cannot believe that Jesus overcame the same temptations they face; they cannot believe that GOD sent His Spirit to live in those who believe in Jesus; they cannot believe that GOD is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, immutable, immortal, invisible, invincible, eternal; they just cannot believe.

They can only believe what their minds which have been corrupted by lies and darkness can comprehend, what they have been taught by society; greed, pride, sexual lust, vanity, rejection (which leads to hate) and abuse (which leads to destructive self esteem). These cause people to do all sorts of evil to themselves and to others.

The inability to know and understand GOD leads to rejecting GOD and His plan of salvation, Jesus Christ. That is why we (every Christian) are called to be light and salt to the world; to lift up Jesus so that people are drawn to Him; to love one another as He loves us and our neighbor (the lost) as we love ourself, to take up our cross and follow Jesus (being conformed to Jesus in  His death and the fellowship of His suffering by the power of His resurrection).

Knowing and understanding GOD means that we know and understand that we are in a spiritual war that takes on physical and emotional battles, but we also know and understand that He has given us His victory and made us His temple (of Holy Spirit) in His Body (the Church); redeeming us, cleansing us and forming us into His Bride to reign with Him over everything (even things that we cannot imagine or comprehend) eternally.

That is why those who knew Him in the flesh could call themselves His bondservants, why they could rejoice in tests, trials and tribulations. That is why we live in greater faith then they, very few people since the First Church have had personal physical encounters with Jesus. We can only know Him personally through His Spirit and His Word; as we yield our will to Jesus as He yielded His will to His Father, as we live in His Word led by His Spirit, keeping His commandments; only then can we know Jesus and the Father in a manner that allows us to have full confidence in Him and His purpose for our life; to take up our cross, to lay down our life (spirit, soul and body), to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, and to fear only Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Flesh and Blood of Jesus

The Flesh and Blood of Jesus

Jesus told us that He is the Bread of Life, He said that if we are to walk with Him we must eat His flesh and drink His blood. That was hard for the Jews and His disciples and it is still an issue in the Church today.

Many believe that this is fulfilled in the taking of Communion, the elements of bread and wine (juice for some), fulfill this requirement. Yet Jesus’ command when He served the first communion was that it be done in remembrance of Him, for He gave His body and blood to take our punishment and wash away our sins so that we could be redeemed back to the Father.

Some in the Church believe that the elements become Jesus’ actual flesh and blood and some believe that they represent His body and blood. It does not matter which you believe as long as you take communion in faith with a humble and repentant heart before the LORD remembering the price He paid to redeem you.

Jesus also told us that He is the Living Word of GOD, He reminded us during His temptations that we do not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of GOD. He told us that He is the Living Bread from Heaven, not like the manna that the Israelites ate in the wilderness. He also said His food was to do the will of His Father and finish what His Father gave Him to do.

Since Jesus is the Living Word of GOD but He is not longer in the earth but seated at the right hand of GOD in Heaven then how are we to eat of His flesh and drink of His blood. Communion is the first step but communion is an act of remembrance. If we do not devour the Word of GOD (the Bible) then we receive no real spiritual nutrition! While the nutrition of our physical body is important, remember our physical body is temporary while our spirit and soul are eternal. To feed our spirit and soul we have to consume the Bible, not just daily reading but actually ingesting it into our spirit and soul so that it becomes a part of our being (conscience and subconscious) and we have to do the will of the Father for us; that is how we feed our eternal being while we are living in the flesh. We do this not as a sacrifice but in obedience led by the Spirit of GOD (Holy Spirit) whom Jesus said would remind us of everything that He said.

Study Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:1-11, 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 4:1-13, 22:14-23; John 1:1-14, 4:27-38, 6:22-71, 14:25-31; Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, 11:17-34; Philippians 3:1-16, 4:4-9; Colossians 2:1-10, 3:1-17; 2 Timothy 2:14-19, 3:14-17.

Proverbs 12:27

Proverbs 12:27

The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man’s precious possession.
This proverb has baffled me for many years, what man would be so lazy that he would not cook whatever he took in hunting? Maybe a starving man who could not wait for it to cook would begin to eat it raw. So was Solomon referring to a man who would bring in his kill for someone else to cook for him, or trade it for already cooked meat? Maybe but that’s not the epitome of laziness.

Diligence is careful and persistence work or effort; so is Solomon saying that a man that does not roast his own kill is not diligent? I do not think so, remember all scripture does not teach natural truth but all scripture does teach spiritual truth. What else does Solomon have to say about laziness and diligence?

He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. The hand of the diligence will rule, but the lazy man will be but to forced labor. The soul of a lazy man desires and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be rich.  Laziness casts one into a deep sleep and an idle person will suffer hunger.  (Proverbs 10:4, 12:24, 13:4, 19:15) Understand these verses are not talking about good and evil, but diligence and laziness.

How about these? The lazy man says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be slain in the streets!” The lazy man says, “There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion is in the streets!” As a door turns on its hinges so does the lazy man on his bed. The lazy man buries his hand in the bowl; it wearies him to bring it back to his mouth. The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer sensibly.”  (Proverbs 22:13, 26:13-16)
Study Proverbs 6:6-11, 10:3-5

Laziness is an unnatural condition that leads to poverty and death, laziness makes no sense to most people but is more than reasonable to the lazy person. Diligence leads to a well lived and prosperous life. Most people scorn lazy people and most people look favorably on diligent people.

The spiritual truth is that spiritually lazy people will not get into the Kingdom of GOD! Not that we have to earn our salvation through diligence or effort. Not at all, salvation is a free gift from GOD that we cannot earn, it is by faith through GOD’s grace to all who believe and confess.

However Paul teaches us that we have to work out our salvation and James teaches us that our faith without doing the work of GOD’s Kingdom is useless. “Therefore my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is GOD who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” “What does it profit my brethren if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works. Show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works.” You believe there is one GOD. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble! But do you want to know O foolish man that faith without works is dead. You see then that a man is justified by works and not by faith only. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”  (Philippians 2:12-13; James 2:14,18-20, 24, 26)
Study Philippians 2 & 3; James 2:14-26

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘LORD, LORD,’ shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name and done many wonders in Your name?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me you who practice lawlessness!’”
Study Matthew 7

Remember laziness is not about doing nothing it is also only doing what you want, what is easy, avoiding the hard things in life.

Thieves are thieves because they want what working people have without the effort that working people put into it. Many drug and alcohol addicted people are too lazy to face the realities of life and do what it takes to live a fairly normal life irregardless of all the bad and evil things that have happened to them; like most people do.

Its laziness of the soul and body that Solomon is dealing with in the Proverbs, remember Solomon was the wisest man in the world ever, and he was diligent in his studies of the natural world and the works that he had done for the nation of Israel. But, he was lazy in dealing with his wives and allowing them to bring in their idolatrous worship to his home, his nation and GOD’s Temple. Study the book of Song of Songs (Song of Solomon) of his first love which is an analogy of GOD’s love for Israel and Jesus’ love for His Church; Proverbs the book of the wisdom GOD gave him in answer to his prayer when he became king; Ecclesiastes the book of his learning the realities of life and the results on not living as GOD directs.

“Let us hear the conclusion of the matter; Fear GOD and keep His commandments for this is man’s all. For GOD will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” “Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed and hidden that will not be known. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”  (Ecclesiastes 13:13-14; Matthew 10:26, 28)

Then they said to Him, “What shall we do that we may work the works of GOD?” Jesus answered, “This is the work of GOD that you believe in Him whom He sent.” “Truthfully I say to you, he who believes in Me the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father.”  (John 6:28-29, 14:12)
Study John 6:22-40; 14

To wrap up this thought that some who believe they are Christians and serving GOD are not and will not get into Heaven. Jesus taught that the lawless will not enter into His eternal Kingdom, just like sinners.

Study Matthew 7:13-29, 13:36-43, 15:1-20, 25:1-13 (these are about the lawless and unprepared) Matthew 13:36-43, 25:31-46 (these about sinners) they all are not allowed into GOD’s eternal Kingdom but put in a place of torment.

In His revelation Jesus said, “I know your works, your labor, your patience and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place – unless you repent. But this you have that you hate the deed of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the Tree of Life which is in the midst of the Paradise of GOD.” “I know your works, tribulation and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison that you may be tested and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” “I know your works and where you dwell, where satan’s throne is and you hold fast to My name and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you where satan dwells. But I have a few things against you because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality. Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans which I hate. Repent or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. He who has ears let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” “I know your works, love, service, faith and your patience; and as for your works the last more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols. I will kill her children with death and all the Churches shall know that I Am He who searches the minds and hearts, And I will give to each one of you according to your works. Now to you I say and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who do not know the depths of satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations – ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like a potter’s vessels’ – as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” “…I know your works that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful and strengthen the things which remain that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before GOD. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore it you will not watch I will come upon you as a thief and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a few names, even in Sardis who have not defiled their garment; and they shall walk with Me in white for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and His angels. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” “I know your works. See, I set before you an open door and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My Word and have not denied My name. Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of satan who say they are Jews and are not but lie – indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet and to know that I have loved you. Because you have kept My command to persevere I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the world world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Be aware I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have that no one may take your crown. He who overcomes I will make him a pillar in the Temple of My GOD, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My GOD and the name of the City of My GOD, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of Heaven from My GOD. And I will write on him My new name. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” “I know your works that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot So then because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy and have need of nothing’ – and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked – I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire that you may be rich; and white garments that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye save that you may see. As many as I love I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Listen, I stand at the door and knock! If anyone hears My voice and opens the door I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with Him on His throne. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” “Then I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, ‘Now salvation and strength and the Kingdom of our GOD and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before GOD day and night has been cast down. And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice O Heavens and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you have great wrath because he knows that he has a short time.’” “He who overcomes shall inherit all things and I will be his GOD and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” “Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”  “Blessed are those who do His commandments that they may have the right to the Tree of Life and may enter through the gates of the City. But outside are dogs, and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters and whoever loves and practices a lie.” (Revelation 2:2-7, 9-10, 11, 13-17, 19-29; 3:1-6, 8-13, 15-22; 12:10-12; 21:7-8, 25-27; 22:14-15)
