TONY’S TOP
TEN
1. The concept of being in awe of GOD seems to be lost today.”
2. When Moses saw the bush on fire yet not burning the bush and then a
voice coming out of the bush, calling him by name, he stood in awe.
3. Being in awe carries with it someone or something that when you notice
them or It, it makes you stop completely in your tracks to pay attention to it.
4. In the Old Testament it referred to something that was terrible or
dreadful; something to be feared.
5. It signified a holy reverence for God for as the writer of Hebrew
proclaims, our God is a consuming fire.
6. When I was younger Christians were described as GOD-fearing people, but
not anymore.
7. Often, in the scriptures the very presence of GOD was such that it
terrified people.
8. Even JESUS when he calmed the sea, the scriptures records, they were
afraid of the storm but terrified of JESUS.
9. GOD and His Presence are so different than anything or anyone can imagine
that when He shows up, people are truly shaken because we fear what we don’t
understand and that certainly includes GOD.
10. We sing so easily, “Our GOD is an awesome GOD” and “I stand I stand in
awe of you” yet, I wonder how many have experienced His awesomeness in their
life or have stood truly in awe of who He is and what He does?
