Word For 1/24/2022

 Word For 1/24/2022

“To be or not to be? That is the question.” The question that Shakespeare asked, I do not remember the context or the play.

To be Holy or not to be Holy? That is the question GOD asks, The Bible gives us the answer.

Peter tells us “Therefore get your minds ready for work, keep yourselves under control, and fix your hopes fully on the Gift you will receive when YESHUA the MESSIAH is revealed. As people who obey GOD, do not let yourselves be shaped by the evil desires you used to have when you were still ignorant. On the contrary, following the Holy One Who Called you, become holy yourselves in your entire way of life; since the Tanakh says, ‘You are to be holy because I Am Holy.’” 1 Peter 1:13-16 CJB

Be is an active verb that implies action required by the person being spoken to. GOD did not say, “You are holy because I Am Holy.” Are is a passive verb implying that GOD does all the action. Paul tells us “So. My dear friends, just as you have always obeyed when I was with you, it is even more important that you obey now when I am away from you: keep working out your deliverance with fear and trembling, for GOD is The One Working among you the willing and the working for what pleases Him. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure children of GOD, without defect in the midst of a twisted and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the sky, as you hold on to the Word of Life…” Philippians 2:12-16 CJB

Throughout The Bible we are told how to live holy: stop sinning and be righteous; stop stealing and support yourself and your family; stop lying and speak the Truth; stop being sexually immoral and be pure before GOD and faithful to your spouse; don’t even think about evil but meditate on The Word of GOD.

GOD commanded us, “Hear, Israel! ADONAI our GOD, ADONAI is One; and you are to love ADONAI your GOD with all your heart, all your being and all your resources.” Deuteronomy 6:4-5 CJB

“The main thing about Christianity is not the work we do, but the relationship we maintain and the atmosphere produced by that relationship.” Oswald Chambers

“Decisions can take you out of GOD’s Will, but not out of His Reach! Repeating habits will bring same results! Let GOD’s Word change your heart.” Pastor Bob Harris

2 Timothy 2:13 “If we are unfaithful, He remains Faithful, for He cannot deny Who He Is.”

Seek GOD First!

GOD Bless, Bob & Charlene
