:1-2 Introduction: “Peter, an
apostle of JESUS CHRIST: to the pilgrims (sojourners) of the Dispersion in
Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia; elect (chosen) according to the
foreknowledge of GOD The Father, in Sanctification of The SPIRIT, for Obedience
and Sprinkling of The Blood of JESUS CHRIST.”
:13-16 Obedient and Be Holy:
:13 Strengthen your Mind (Job 38:2-3,
42:1-6; 1 Corinthians 16:13-14). Be sober (of a sound mind Philippians 2:5-8).
:14 Be Obedient (1 Samuel 15:22-23;
Romans 12:1-3; Hebrews 5:5-8)
:15-16 Be Holy because it is
written (Leviticus 20:7-8; Malachi 3:2-3; Matthew 5:48; 2 Corinthians 7:1; 1
John 3:3 pure = innocent, modest, perfect [holy]).
:17-21 Precious Blood of CHRIST:
:17 Conduct yourself (without
partiality [without favoritism] Deuteronomy 10:20; Acts 10:34-35). Judges each
one’s work (1 Corinthians 3:8-15; Revelation 20:11-15). Conduct yourselves (Amos
5:4-5; Romans 12:18-21; Philippians 2:12-14; James 2:20-26). In Fear (Proverbs
3:7-8; Matthew 10:27-31).
:18 Not redeemed with corruptible
(perishable) things (Matthew 11:28-30; 1 Corinthians 15:50-55; Ephesians 4:20)
:19 The Blood (Acts 20:28; Ephesians
1:7; Hebrews 9:11-15). The Lamb (John 1:29-34; Revelation 5, 13:8).
:20 Foreordained (John 17:24;
Ephesians 1:3-4; Titus 1:1-4).
:21 We who Believe in GOD (are
saved and the recipients of All GOD’s Blessings John 1:12-13; Romans 10:8-13; Galatians
4:1-7). GOD Who Raised Him (Acts 2:24). And Gave Him Glory (Isaiah 40:5; Matthew
6:1-4; John 1:14; 17:1-5; Revelation 4:11). Our Faith and Hope are in JESUS
Hebrews 11:1, 6).
