Make A Covenant …
Job 31:1
“I made a covenant with my eyes not to pay attention to a
virgin.”
First this is addressed to men: Job made his defense to GOD claiming
that he had made a covenant with his eyes (himself) not to look (lust) after
virgins (young unmarried women). Many men (single or married) look with lust on
a woman, young or not, single or not. JESUS said this is the same as committing
adultery (Matthew 5:27-30) and said if your eye offends you (causes you to sin)
pluck it out; for it is better to enter The Kingdom of Heaven maimed then hell
whole.
For everyone: looking at things you do not have and would
like, or looking at things you know you should not have can easily lead to lust
(covetousness) and lust leads to sin and sin leads to death (LSD), “Blessed is
the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive
the crown of life which The LORD has promised to those who Love him. Let no one
say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted by GOD’; for GOD cannot be tempted by
evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is
drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it
gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not
be deceived my dear brethren.” James 1:12-16 (See Exodus 20:17)
