Once Saved
Always Saved?
The parable of the sower shows that you can be saved and lose your salvation!
“And when a great multitude had gathered, and they had come to Him from every city, He spoke by a parable: ‘A sower went out to sow His seed and as he sowed some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down and the birds of the air devoured it. Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. But others fell on good ground, sprang up and yielded a crop a hundredfold.’ When He had said these things He cried; ‘He who has ears to hear, let him hear!’
Then His disciples asked Him, saying, ‘What does this parable mean?’ And He said, ‘To you it has been given to know the mysteries of The Kingdom of GOD, but to the rest it is given in parables, that “Seeing they may not see and hearing they may not understand.” Now the parable is this: The Seed is The Word of GOD. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear, then the devil comes and takes away the Word out of their hearts, lest they believe and should be saved. But the ones on the rock are those who when they hear, receive the Word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in the time of temptation they fall away. Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches and pleasures of life and bring no fruit to maturity. But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who , having heard the Word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.’” Luke 8:4-15
So the ones who heard the Word and received it with Joy but quit when temptation came over them and the ones who heard the Word but are overcome with the cares of the world are both groups who believe they are saved; and many others also believe they are saved. They have made a confession of Faith in JESUS, repented and been water baptized. But they produced no fruit of The Kingdom in their life!
JESUS said in Matthew 7:21-23 that even some of those who are doing great things in His Name will not be in His Eternal Kingdom because they are not doing His Will for their life. How shocking it will be to have done great works of faith in JESUS’ Name and be turned away to hell for doing it your way. “Not everyone who says to Me in That Day, ‘LORD, LORD,’ shall enter The Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the Will of MY Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in That Day, ‘LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in Your Name, and done many wonders in Your Name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me you who practice lawlessness!’”
I do not understand why some Christians believe that they can just live their life as they please when the Scriptures are clear that it is no longer our life it is GOD’s. “I am Crucified with CHRIST, nevertheless I Live, yet not I but CHRIST Lives in me and the Life that I now Live in the flesh I Live by Faith in The Son of GOD Who Loved me and Gave His Life for me.” Galatians 2:20
“I Am the Vine and you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they shall gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” John 15:5-6 study verses 1-15.
When we give our life to GOD through JESUS we are no longer our own person, we are a Child of GOD, just like the Apostles. They knew they were the sons of GOD and they also knew that they were servants, slaves of CHRIST. They did what HOLY SPIRIT told them to do, they went where HOLY SPIRIT told them to go and they said what HOLY SPIRIT told them to say. If you are living your life any other way, then you are living a lawless life. That does not mean that we all should be going to and fro throughout our region, or country or the world. Read your Bible everyday and ask HOLY SPIRIT to speak to you and you will find what your purpose and calling are.
