Isaiah 35:10 & 55:12

Isaiah 35:10 & 55:12

In the 80’s we sang these verses as choruses:

“Therefore, the Redeemed of The LORD shall return

And come with singing unto Zion;

An everlasting song shall be upon their heads;

They shall obtain Gladness and Joy

And sorrow and morning shall flee away.”

“We will go out with Joy and be led forth with Peace;

The mountains and hills will break forth with singing!

They’ll be shouts of Joy and the trees of the field,

The trees will clap their hands.”

Sorry I can’t give you the tunes to sing them.

35:10 is a good scripture to meditate on considering the days we live in;

It is the last verse of a long Word that starts with Chapter 24 but this section is not about Israel.

35:3-10 are about the Redeemed – Israel returned to the land after 70 years in Babylon and then after almost 2000 years scattered throughout the earth – but the Redeemed are not by natural birth but by spiritual birth. These verses are about those who are born again by Spirit and Water – those who follow JESUS.

55:12 is about the celebration that will take place in all of creation, not just people; in Romans 28:18-23 Paul reminds us that all of creation – not just humans  are waiting for The Glory of The LORD to be revealed in the Followers of JESUS.

These are the days when we will be tried and tested!

The devil will try us to destroy us but GOD will test us to show us that in CHRIST we are Victorious (1 Corinthians 15:57)! The question is: will we quit because of the trial or will we endure the trial so GOD’s testing can bring forth our Victory in CHRIST?

Seek GOD First! Isaiah 55:6
