Revelation 8:7-14:13

Revelation 8:7-14:13

Chapters 11 and 13 are in the next paper.

As of yet none of the trumpets have sounded, these will take place during the last three and a half years of the Great Tribulation along with chapters 10, 11 and 13; chapters 8:7 through 20:3 are the last three and a half years of the Great Tribulation; chapter 20:4-10 is the millennial reign of JESUS CHRIST over the nations.

Chapter 8:7-13 Trumpets 1 – 4:

:7 First trumpet: hail and fire mingled with blood strike the earth, a third of the trees and All green grass is burned up over the face of the earth. (Revelation 11:19 seventh trumpet [great hail]; 16:21 seventh bowl [hail weighing up to 100 pounds])

:8-9 Second trumpet: “And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea”, a third of the sea turns to blood and all that is in or on that portion of the sea dies, including ships. (“like a great burning mountain” – could be an asteroid or a meteorite [Revelation 6:13 sixth seal]) (Or it could be a mountain [Revelation 6:14 sixth seal])

:10-11 Third trumpet: a great fiery star (meteorite or asteroid) named wormwood (bitter)  falls from heaven and turns a third of the fresh water bitter and many people die of the bitter water. I imagen this is spread out over the whole earth. (Revelation 6:13 sixth seal)

:12 Fourth trumpet: the sun, moon and stars are struck so that a third of the day and a third of the night is total blackness (Revelation 6:12-14 the sixth seal; Revelation 16:10-11 the fifth bowl, the anti-christ’s kingdom is in total darkness)

:13 An angel announces three woes to come!

Chapter 9 Trumpets 5 – 6:

:1-12 Fifth trumpet the first woe: A star (angel) falls from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit; he unlocked and opened the bottomless pit and smoke rose like from a great furnace and darkened the sun and the air (Revelation 6:12-14 the sixth seal; Revelation 16:10-11 the fifth bowl.) Out of the smoke came locusts that had tails like a scorpion which they stung humans for five months. The sting was so bad that people would try to kill themselves  but GOD would not let them die. Their ruler was the angel of the bottomless pit, Abaddon (Lit. destruction).

:13-20 Sixth trumpet the second woe: A voice from the four corners of The Golden Alter in Heaven’s Tabernacle tells the sixth angel to “Release the four angels that have been bound at the great river Euphrates.” The four angels are released to kill a third of humanity, they were prepared and waiting for this “hour and day” (Matthew 2:36; Acts 1:7) The number of their army is two hundred million horsemen. Their horses have heads like lions and tails like serpents; out of the horse’s mouth come fire, smoke and sulfur that kill people, also their serpent tails bite but do not kill people.

:21 “And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries (drugs) or their sexual immorality or their thefts.”

Chapter 10 More prophecy to come:

:1-3a The angel clothed with a cloud, a rainbow on his head, his face was like the sun and his feet like pillars of fire, coming down from Heaven. He had a book in his hand; he cries out as when a lion roars: “

:3b-4 when the angel roared John hear seven thunders speak, John was about to write down what the seven thunders said when a voice from Heaven said, “Seal up the things the seven thunders uttered and do not wright them!”

:5-7 The angel lifts his hand to Heaven “…and swore by Him Who Lives Forever and Ever, Who Created Heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, but in the days of the sounding of the seventh trumpet, when he is about to sound, the Mystery of GOD would be finished, as He Declared to His Servants the Prophets.”

:8-11 John is told to eat the small book the angel has, it is sweet in his mouth and bitter in his stomach, then he is told: “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues and kings.”

Chapter 11 The two witnesses and the seventh trumpet:

:1-2 John is told to measure the temple but if he did it is not recorded. “but leave out  the court which is outside the Temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles; and they will tread the Holy City (Jerusalem) underfoot for forty two months (3 ½ years).

:3-12 The two witnesses of GOD: “I Will give Power to My two Witnesses and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days (3 ½ years), clothed in sackcloth…if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies…These have Power to shut heaven so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have Power over water to turn them to blood and to strike the earth will all plagues, as often as they desire…When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit (the devil) will make war against them, over power them and kill them. And their dead bodies will lay in the street of the great city which Spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our LORD was crucified….Now after the three and a half days The Breath of Life from GOD entered them and they stood on their feet and great fear fell on those who saw them. And they heard a loud voice from Heaven saying to them, ‘Come up here!’ And they ascended to Heaven in a cloud and their enemies saw them.”

:13-14 “In the same hour there was a great earthquake and a tenth of the city fell; in the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave Glory to GOD in Heaven (finally). The second woe is past; Behold! The third woe is coming quickly!”

:15-18 The seventh trumpet: loud voices in Heaven, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our LORD and his CHRIST and He shall Reign Forever and Ever!” The twenty four elders worship GOD, saying: “We give You thanks JEHOVAH GOD Almighty! The One Who is and Who was and Who is to come! Because You have taken Your Great Power and Reigned! The nations were angry and Your Wrath has come! And the time of the dead that they should be Judged and You should Reward Your Servants the Prophets and the Saints and those who Fear Your Name, small and great (that is all Believers!)! And should destroy those who destroy the earth (this whole statement is chapters 14-19).”

:19Then The Temple of GOD was opened in Heaven (The seventh trumpet sounded and GOD’s Temple is revealed to all the earth; everything that happens from this point on is seen by every human on the earth as it happens!)

Chapter 12 The history of Israel, CHRIST, the Church and the devil:

John was shown the history that he would have been familiar with from Genesis, Isaiah, Daniel and even JESUS spoke of it (Luke 10:17-20; Matthew 16:18-19, 25:41).

When did the devil rebel against GOD and decide that he could replace GOD? The Scriptures do not say, it could have been when he realized that GOD made humanity in His own image and likeness; which none of the Heavenly host was; they could reflect GOD’s Glory but we carry His Glory in CHRIST JESUS! We know that he was in the Garden of Eden to introduce his rebellion to the human race and he was successful; he tried to get GOD to destroy Job and he tempted JESUS after his forty days of fasting and praying (a lesson for Believers). Paul, Peter, James and John all remind us that we are in Spiritual warfare against the devil. The key takeaway for us from this chapter is verse 11: “And they overcame him (the devil) by the Blood of The Lamb (JESUS) and by the word of their testimony and they did  not love their lives to the death.” JESUS told us to lay down our life, take up our cross and follow Him. (Mark 8:34-38)

Chapter 13 is in the next paper.

Chapter 14:1-13 The One hundred and forty-four thousand:

In chapter 7 we met the one hundred forty-four thousand virgin, Jewish men, twelve thousand from twelve tribes who serve JESUS. They are sealed with The Father’s Name on their forehead and they sing a song that only they know. They are redeemed, being firstfruits to GOD and JESUS, they are without deceit and fault before the Throne of GOD.

:6-13 The proclamations of three angels:

There is an angel flying in the heavens proclaiming The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST to every nation, tribe, tongue and people, saying: “Fear GOD and give Glory to Him, for the hour of his Judgment has come and Worship Him Who made Heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water!” (This is after the seventh trumpet, Revelation 14:17-20)

Another angel followed saying, “Babylon is fallen! Is fallen, that great city because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” (Revelation 17-18)

Then a third angel followed them, saying, “If anyone worships the beast (anti-christ) and his image, and receiving his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the Wrath of GOD, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of The Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image and whoever receives the mark of his name.” (Revelation 14:17-20, 16, 20:11-15)
