Ecclesiastes Chapter 7 Part 3

Ecclesiastes Chapter 7

Complete Jewish Bible

Part 3 Vs. 11-17

When Soloman writes Ecclesiastes he seems disappointed and discouraged about the results of his life choices and how he sees the lives of others working out in the world.

Solomon knew the True and Living GOD JEHOVAH, he knew of the Promised Messiah but could not reconcile what he experienced and saw with the Promise. We have the Promised Messiah, JESUS CHRIST, we have no excuse for this kind of sorrow!

:11-12 Wisdom is good (Proverbs 9:10), along with possessions, an advantage to all who see the sun (Proverbs 4:18). For Wisdom is a shelter (Proverbs 9:1-6, 24:3-4) and money is a shelter (Proverbs 10:15, 18:11; Matthew 6:19-24, 19:23-24; Luke 12:16-21), but the advantage of Knowledge (Proverbs 1:6) is that Wisdom keeps the one who has it Alive (Proverbs 1:33, 3:13-18).

:13 Consider The Work of GOD (Psalm 90:1-2: Proverbs 8:25-26; Revelation 4:11); who can make straight what He has made crooked (Job 12:13-14; Isaiah 40:3-5; Matthew 3:1-3)?

:14 When things are going well enjoy yourself, but when things are going badly consider that GOD made the one alongside the other (Proverbs 5:21, 15:3; Matthew 5:45; Romans 8:28; James 1:2-3), so that people would learn nothing of their futures (Ecclesiastes 6:12).

:15 In my pointless life I have seen everything – from the righteous person perishing in his uprightness to the wicked one who lives a long life and keeps on doing wrong (Proverbs 8:10-15).

:16 So don’t be overly Righteous or overly Wise; why should you disappoint yourself (Proverbs 25:27; Jeremiah 9:23-24; Romans 12:3)?

:17 Don’t be overly wicked and don’t be foolish; why should you die before your time (Job 15:20, 30-32; Psalm 55:23; Proverbs 12:15; Titus 3:3)?
