Matthew 6:24
Trusting
GOD Above Money!
JESUS said, “No one can serve two
masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be
loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve GOD and mammon
(Money)!”
Paul said in 1 Timothy 6:10, “ For
the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed
from the faith in their greediness and pierced themselves through with many
sorrows.” (Proverbs 15:27; Ephesians 4:17-24)
JESUS said in Matthew 6:19-23, “Do
not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and
where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven
where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and
steal. For where your treasure is there your heart will be also! The lamp of
the body is the eye, if therefore your eye is good (clear or healthy), your
whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is bad (evil or unhealthy),
your whole body will be full of darkness, if therefore the light that is in you
is darkness, how great is that darkness?”
JESUS said in Matthew 6:25-34,
“…Seek first the Kingdom of GOD and His Righteousness and all these things (shelter, drink &
food and clothing) will be added to you; but do not worry about tomorrow for
tomorrow will worry about its own things, sufficient for the day is its own
trouble!”
Does GOD want to make everyone
prosperous and rich? No!
JESUS said in Luke 12:22-34
“…Therefore do not worry about your life… and do not seek what you should eat
or what you should drink nor have an anxious mind; for all these things the
nations of the world seek after and your Father knows that you need these
things…Sell what you have and give alms, provide yourselves money bags that do
not grow old, a treasure in Heaven that does not fail…” (Luke 12:12-21)
In Acts 20:35 Paul quoted JESUS as
saying, “…It is more Blessed to give
than to receive!”
Does GOD want us to put our life’s
desires before His Purpose for our life? No!
In Mark 8:34-38, JESUS said, “…Whoever
desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow
Me. (JESUS’ cross was to die for our sins, our cross is to Obey GOD’s Plan for
our life, Psalm 139:13-18)…for what will it profit a man if he gains the whole
world and losses his own soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his
soul?”
One more example: JESUS was
watching people give their offering at the Temple and noted a poor widow who
put in two pennies, Luke 21:1-4, “…for all these out of their abundance have
put in offerings for GOD but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood
that she had.”
Romans 6:22-23, “But now having
been freed from sin and having become slaves of GOD, you have your fruit to
Holiness and The End, Everlasting Life; for the wages of sin is death, but the
Gift of GOD is Eternal Life in CHRIST JESUS!”
