Ecclesiastes Chapter 7
Part
5 Vs 23-29
Complete
Jewish Bible
When Solomon writes Ecclesiastes
he seems disappointed and discouraged about the results of his life choices and
how he sees the lives of others working out in the world.
Solomon knew the True and Living
GOD JEHOVAH, he knew of the Promised Messiah but could not reconcile what he
experienced and saw with the Promise. We have the Promised Messiah, JESUS
CHRIST, we have no excuse for this kind of sorrow!
:23-24 All this I have put to the
test of Wisdom (Isaiah 1:18; Proverbs 1:1-7), I said, “I will acquire Wisdom.”;
but Wisdom remained far from me (Why?). That which exists is far away and deep,
so deep that it cannot be discovered (Psalm 139:1-12; Proverbs 16:1-3; Matthew
10:26; 1Corinthians 2:6-11).
:25 So I turned myself and my
thoughts to know, search out and seek Wisdom and the reasons behind things,
also to know how foolish it is to be wicked and how stupid to act like a fool
(Ecclesiastes 1:16-18; Isaiah 55:6, Jeremiah 26:11-14; Matthew 6:33, 34).
[Solomon becomes king of Israel
and prays to JEHOVAH for Wisdom to govern the people; and GOD Honors his prayer
and gives him Wisdom beyond any man, wealth beyond any man, fame beyond any man;
but Solomon added to himself (Not GOD) wives beyond any man and that was his
downfall.]
:26 I found more bitter than death
the woman who is a trap, whose heart is a snare and whose hands are like prison
chains (Proverbs 5, 7, 9:13-18). The man who Pleases GOD will escape her, but a
sinner will be caught by her (Eve was deceived and talked Adam into sinning,
Genesis 3:11-13; 1 Timothy 2:13-14).
:27-28 I have found this – says
Kohelet (Preacher) – adding one thing to another to reach a conclusion, I
searched a long time without finding it; one man in a thousand I have found,
but a woman among all those I have not found (Ecclesiastes 1:1-2; Psalm 39:4-6).
:29 This is the only thing I have
found that GOD made human beings upright, but they have devised many schemes (Genesis
1:26-28, 4:6-12, Proverbs 5:21-23; Ecclesiastes 12:9-14).
