Revelation 11, 13-16

Revelation 11, 13-16

The Day Of The LORD!

Chapters 8:7-9:21 (6 trumpets),  chapter 11:1-14 (two Witnesses) and chapter 13 (satan, anti-christ, false prophet) are the last three and a half years of the Great Tribulation. There will be no more peace as the anti-christ takes total control of the world government and sets himself up as GOD in Jerusalem.

Chapter 11 The two witnesses and the seventh trumpet:

:1-2 John is told to measure the temple but if he did it is not recorded. “but leave out  the court which is outside the Temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles; and they will tread the Holy City (Jerusalem) underfoot for forty two months (3 ½ years).

:3-12 The two witnesses of GOD: “I Will give Power to My two Witnesses and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days (3 ½ years), clothed in sackcloth…if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies…These have Power to shut heaven so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have Power over water to turn them to blood and to strike the earth will all plagues, as often as they desire…When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit (the devil) will make war against them, over power them and kill them. And their dead bodies will lay in the street of the great city which Spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our LORD was crucified….Now after the three and a half days The Breath of Life from GOD entered them and they stood on their feet and great fear fell on those who saw them. And they heard a loud voice from Heaven saying to them, ‘Come up here!’ And they ascended to Heaven in a cloud and their enemies saw them.”

:13-14 “In the same hour there was a great earthquake and a tenth of the city fell; in the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave Glory to GOD in Heaven (finally). The second woe is past; Behold! The third woe is coming quickly!”

Chapter 13 The anti-christ: John sees the rise of the beast (satan, verses 1-2, 4) and the anti-christ (one of the heads of the beast – that had a deadly head wound, verses 3-8), then the false prophet (their religious leader who has no power of his own, verses 11-17).

:9-10 “If anyone has an ear, let him hear.” (Mark 4:23-25; Revelation 2:7) How you lived is how you will be judged. “Here is the Patience of the Saints!” (Revelation 14:12)

:18 “Here is wisdom, let him who has Understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man (6): his number is 666.

Chapter 11:15-18 The seventh trumpet: Loud voices in Heaven proclaiming, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our LORD and his CHRIST and He shall Reign Forever and Ever!” The twenty four elders worship GOD, saying: “We give You thanks JEHOVAH GOD Almighty! The One Who is and Who was and Who is to come! Because You have taken Your Great Power and Reigned! The nations were angry and Your Wrath has come! And the time of the dead that they should be Judged and You should Reward Your Servants the Prophets and the Saints and those who Fear Your Name, small and great (that is all Believers!)! And should destroy those who destroy the earth (this whole statement is fulfilled in chapters 14-19).”

:19 Then The Temple of GOD was opened in Heaven (The seventh trumpet sounded and GOD’s Temple is revealed to all the earth; everything that happens from this point on is seen by every human on the earth as it happens!)

Chapter 14:14-16 The Rapture:

JESUS reaps the Harvest of the earth, all the dead and living Saints (1 Corinthians 15:50-58; 1 John 3:1-3)

:17-20 The vine of the earth is reaped and thrown into the winepress of GOD’s wrath (Isaiah 63:1-6)

Chapter 15 The Prelude:

:1 “Then I see  another sign in Heaven, Great and Marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them The wrath of GOD is complete! And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire and those who have the Victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of GOD. They sing the song of Moses the Servant of GOD, and The Song of The Lamb, saying,

‘Great and Marvelous are Your Works, JEHOVAH GOD Almighty!

Just and True are Your Ways, King of The Saints!

Who shall not Fear You JEHOVAH and Glorify Your Name?

For You Alone are Holy!

For all nations shall come and Worship before You!

For Your Judgments have been manifested!’

After these things I looked and The Temple of The Tabernacle of The Testimony in Heaven was opened. And out of The Temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, clothed in pure bright linen and having their chests girded with golden bands. Then one of the four living beings (Revelation 4:6-9) gave to the seven angels seven bowls full of the wrath of GOD Who Lives Forever and Ever. The Temple was filled with smoke from the Glory of GOD and from His Power and no one was able to enter the Temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels was completed.”

Chapter 16 The Wrath of GOD:

:2 First bowl – foal and loathsome sores.

:3 Second bowl – the sea became blood, as of a dean man, everything in the sea died.

:4-7 Third bowl – the rivers and springs became blood and the angel of the waters said: “You are Righteous JEHOVAH, The One Who is and Who was and Who is to be; because You have Judged these things; for they have shed the blood of saints and Prophets and You have given them blood to drink, for it is their just due!’  And I heard the altar saying, ‘Even so, JEHOVAH GOD Almighty, True and Righteous are Your Judgments!’”

:8-9 Fourth bowl – the sun scorches people and they blaspheme The Name of GOD Who has Power over the plagues, they do not repent and give Him Glory.

:10-11 Fifth bowl – the kingdom of the anti-christ is plunged into darkness and they gnaw their tongues because of the pain. They blaspheme GOD because of their sores and pains and they do not repent of their deeds.

:12-16 Sixth bowl – the river Euphrates dries up to prepare the way for the kings of the east. John sees demons, like frogs, come out of the mouth of satan, the anti-christ and the false prophet; that go out to the rulers of the east to call them to the battle of the Great Day of GOD Almighty, at the place called Armageddon.

:15 “Behold! I Am coming as a thief. Blessed is ho who watches and keeps his garments, lest he walks naked and they see his shame.” JESUS’ warning to us! Do not be caught by surprise because of your sin (nakedness).

:17 Seventh bowl – a loud voice out of the Temple of Heaven, from The Throne, “It is done!” (John 19:30, JESUS on the cross, “It is finished!”)

18-21 there were noises, thunderings and lightnings. A great mighty and earthquake as had never happened in the earth since men were on the earth. Jerusalem was divided into three parts and the cities of the nations fell! GOD remembered the Great Babylon (one world government), to give her the Cup of the wine of the fierceness of His Wrath.

Revelation 8:7-14:13

Revelation 8:7-14:13

Chapters 11 and 13 are in the next paper.

As of yet none of the trumpets have sounded, these will take place during the last three and a half years of the Great Tribulation along with chapters 10, 11 and 13; chapters 8:7 through 20:3 are the last three and a half years of the Great Tribulation; chapter 20:4-10 is the millennial reign of JESUS CHRIST over the nations.

Chapter 8:7-13 Trumpets 1 – 4:

:7 First trumpet: hail and fire mingled with blood strike the earth, a third of the trees and All green grass is burned up over the face of the earth. (Revelation 11:19 seventh trumpet [great hail]; 16:21 seventh bowl [hail weighing up to 100 pounds])

:8-9 Second trumpet: “And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea”, a third of the sea turns to blood and all that is in or on that portion of the sea dies, including ships. (“like a great burning mountain” – could be an asteroid or a meteorite [Revelation 6:13 sixth seal]) (Or it could be a mountain [Revelation 6:14 sixth seal])

:10-11 Third trumpet: a great fiery star (meteorite or asteroid) named wormwood (bitter)  falls from heaven and turns a third of the fresh water bitter and many people die of the bitter water. I imagen this is spread out over the whole earth. (Revelation 6:13 sixth seal)

:12 Fourth trumpet: the sun, moon and stars are struck so that a third of the day and a third of the night is total blackness (Revelation 6:12-14 the sixth seal; Revelation 16:10-11 the fifth bowl, the anti-christ’s kingdom is in total darkness)

:13 An angel announces three woes to come!

Chapter 9 Trumpets 5 – 6:

:1-12 Fifth trumpet the first woe: A star (angel) falls from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit; he unlocked and opened the bottomless pit and smoke rose like from a great furnace and darkened the sun and the air (Revelation 6:12-14 the sixth seal; Revelation 16:10-11 the fifth bowl.) Out of the smoke came locusts that had tails like a scorpion which they stung humans for five months. The sting was so bad that people would try to kill themselves  but GOD would not let them die. Their ruler was the angel of the bottomless pit, Abaddon (Lit. destruction).

:13-20 Sixth trumpet the second woe: A voice from the four corners of The Golden Alter in Heaven’s Tabernacle tells the sixth angel to “Release the four angels that have been bound at the great river Euphrates.” The four angels are released to kill a third of humanity, they were prepared and waiting for this “hour and day” (Matthew 2:36; Acts 1:7) The number of their army is two hundred million horsemen. Their horses have heads like lions and tails like serpents; out of the horse’s mouth come fire, smoke and sulfur that kill people, also their serpent tails bite but do not kill people.

:21 “And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries (drugs) or their sexual immorality or their thefts.”

Chapter 10 More prophecy to come:

:1-3a The angel clothed with a cloud, a rainbow on his head, his face was like the sun and his feet like pillars of fire, coming down from Heaven. He had a book in his hand; he cries out as when a lion roars: “

:3b-4 when the angel roared John hear seven thunders speak, John was about to write down what the seven thunders said when a voice from Heaven said, “Seal up the things the seven thunders uttered and do not wright them!”

:5-7 The angel lifts his hand to Heaven “…and swore by Him Who Lives Forever and Ever, Who Created Heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, but in the days of the sounding of the seventh trumpet, when he is about to sound, the Mystery of GOD would be finished, as He Declared to His Servants the Prophets.”

:8-11 John is told to eat the small book the angel has, it is sweet in his mouth and bitter in his stomach, then he is told: “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues and kings.”

:15-18 The seventh trumpet: loud voices in Heaven, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our LORD and his CHRIST and He shall Reign Forever and Ever!” The twenty four elders worship GOD, saying: “We give You thanks JEHOVAH GOD Almighty! And should destroy those who destroy the earth (this whole statement is chapters 14-19).”

:19Then The Temple of GOD was opened in Heaven (The seventh trumpet sounded and GOD’s Temple is revealed to all the earth; everything that happens from this point on is seen by every human on the earth as it happens!)

Chapter 12 The history of Israel, CHRIST, the Church and the devil:

John was shown the history that he would have been familiar with from Genesis, Isaiah, Daniel and even JESUS spoke of it (Luke 10:17-20; Matthew 16:18-19, 25:41).

When did the devil rebel against GOD and decide that he could replace GOD? The Scriptures do not say, it could have been when he realized that GOD made humanity in His own image and likeness; which none of the Heavenly host was; they could reflect GOD’s Glory but we carry His Glory in CHRIST JESUS! We know that he was in the Garden of Eden to introduce his rebellion to the human race and he was successful; he tried to get GOD to destroy Job and he tempted JESUS after his forty days of fasting and praying (a lesson for Believers). Paul, Peter, James and John all remind us that we are in Spiritual warfare against the devil. The key takeaway for us from this chapter is verse 11: “And they overcame him (the devil) by the Blood of The Lamb (JESUS) and by the word of their testimony and they did  not love their lives to the death.” JESUS told us to lay down our life, take up our cross and follow Him. (Mark 8:34-38)

Chapter 13 is in the next paper.

Chapter 14:1-13 The One hundred and forty-four thousand:

In chapter 7 we met the one hundred forty-four thousand virgin, Jewish men, twelve thousand from twelve tribes who serve JESUS. They are sealed with The Father’s Name on their forehead and they sing a song that only they know. They are redeemed, being firstfruits to GOD and JESUS, they are without deceit and fault before the Throne of GOD.

:6-13 The proclamations of three angels:

There is an angel flying in the heavens proclaiming The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST to every nation, tribe, tongue and people, saying: “Fear GOD and give Glory to Him, for the hour of his Judgment has come and Worship Him Who made Heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water!” (This is after the seventh trumpet, Revelation 14:17-20)

Another angel followed saying, “Babylon is fallen! Is fallen, that great city because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” (Revelation 17-18)

Then a third angel followed them, saying, “If anyone worships the beast (anti-christ) and his image, and receiving his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the Wrath of GOD, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of The Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image and whoever receives the mark of his name.” (Revelation 14:17-20, 16, 20:11-15)

Revelation 3:7-8:6

Revelation Notes

Chapters 3:7-8:6

Chapter 3:10-12 “Because you have kept My Command to Persevere, I also Will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold! (Matthew 24:21-22; Revelation 16) I Am coming quickly! (Matthew 24:42-44; Luke 21:34-36) Hold fast what you have that no one may take your crown (Revelation 2:10, you can lose your Salvation)! He who overcomes…” (Each letter has the statement “To he who overcomes I Will…”)

Chapter 4:1 An open door in Heaven (Ezekiel 1:1; Isaiah 57:15 Where JEHOVAH Reigns over creation from). “…the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, (Revelation 1:10) saying “Come up here and I will show you things which must take place after this.” (Revelation 10:4, 11)

:5 “And from The Throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before The Throne, which are The Seven Spirits of GOD. (Isaiah 11:1-3; Zechariah 4:1-10; Revelation 1:20)

:6-11 there is continual worship of GOD in Heaven!

Chapter 5 The scroll written on the inside ad the outside with seven seals. No one in heaven or the earth can open the seals of the scroll – except JESUS – there is continual worship of JESUS in Heaven!

Chapter 6 The seals 1-6.

:1-8 The four horsemen – they are not the horsemen of the apocalypse – there is no time reference in chapters 5 and 6 for when JESUS opens the seals on the scroll. The events described in the first four seals have been going on since the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9); they could have been loosed at that time, they could have been loosed at JESUS Resurrection, they could still be waiting to be loosed; we do not know!

:9-11 The fifth seal where John saw “…those who had been slain for The Word of GOD and for the testimony which they held.” They cries out to GOD, “How long, JEHOVAH, Holy and True, until You Judge and Avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” They are given a white robe and told to “…rest a little while longer until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed!” This would have been real time for John, he might have seen the high priest Zechariah (2 Chronicles 24:20-22), John the Baptist (Mark 6:26-29), James, John’s brother (Acts 12:1-2) and Stephen the first Christian martyr (Acts 7:54-60).

:12-17 The sixth seal – a great earthquake, the sun became black and the moon blood red; stars (probably meteors or asteroids) of heaven fell to the earth. The sky recedes like a scroll being rolled up, every mountain and island are moved from their place. This sounds a lot like some of the trumpets:

:12 Great earthquake – Revelation 8:5 [seventh seal], Revelation 11:19 [seventh trumpet].

Sun and moon darkened – Revelation 8:12 [fourth trumpet] third of the heavens darkened.

:13 Stars fall to the earth – Revelation 8:10 [third trumpet] third of the fresh water turned bitter.

:14 Sky rolled up, mountains and islands moved – Revelation 8:8-9 [second trumpet] third of the seas turned to blood.

:15-17 All the people call out for the mountains and rocks to fall on them and hide them from GOD’s wrath!

All of the seal events could have already happened – so now we are waiting to thee Great Tribulation and the seven trumpets.

Chapter 7:1-8 Is about the 144,000 Jewish men who must be sealed with the Name of GOD (YHWH – JEHOVAH or YAHWEY);  twelve thousand from the following tribes: Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, Benjamin. They must be sealed before the four angels standing at the four corners of the earth can release the four winds of the earth to harm the earth, seas and trees.

:9-17 is about Heavenly worship of GOD and humans who have come through the Great Tribulation, washing their robs white in The Blood of The Lamb, who worship and serve GOD in His Temple.

Chapter 8:1-6 The seventh seal: silence in Heaven for thirty minutes, seven angels with seven trumpets. Another angel has a golden censer filled with incense and the prayers of the Saints, he throws it to the earth and there is noises, thunderings, lightings and an earthquake.

Revelation 1:1-3:5

Revelation Notes

Chapters 1:1-3:5

The 1000 year Reign of CHRIST is still to come!

1:10 John says he was in The Spirit on The LORD’s Day – most translations say, “The LORD’s Day”, The Scriptures Version says, “The Day of JEHOVAH” The Greek word LORD’s used here is kuriakŏs = belonging to The LORD (JEHOVAH or JESUS). It does not matter if it was the Sabbath or Sunday, everyday should be The LORD’s Day to a Child of GOD! (Psalm 118:24; Romans 14:5-7).

The Seven Churches

Some say the seven Churches represent seven eras of Church History; I think they represent the seven major divisions of Churches that call themselves Christian. This is a shame on The Body of CHRIST which is The Church! (Ephesians 4:1-6)

1. The orthodox or religious Church, they have lots of form and function but their rules block real Love for the lost – the reason JESUS came in the flesh. They look down on what they call the liberal Church.

2. Those who deny the Divinity of JESUS as The CHRIST! Some count Him equal to or even the brother of satan. Some say he was just a profit or religious teacher. Some actually do not believe He was born.

3. Some deny the Divinity of the Bible (The Word of GOD, 2 Timothy 3:16-17). Some believe that The modern version of The Bible is corrupted and not trust worthy. Some believe we do not need the First Covenant (Old Testament), that JESUS fulfilling it means we can ignore it. Some believe that The King James Version is the only True Bible.

4. Some believe that water Baptism is not necessary even though JESUS was Baptized (Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22) and He had his disciples baptize people into Repentance (John 3:22-24; 4:1-3). JESUS commanded us to Baptize new believers (Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:14-18). Some practice sprinkling, especially children rather than immersion, in some translations John The Baptist is called John The Immerser.

Baptism is the public act of Confession and Repentance (Romans 6:1-14; Hebrews 6:1-2; 1 Peter 3:18-22).

5. Some believe that The HOLY SPIRIT stopped doing miracles at the end of the first century or when the last of the twelve disciples of JESUS died. (How short-sited of GOD to leave the rest of us without His Power, Acts 1:8, Romans 5:5, 8:11, 15:13, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17). JESUS said He would send The HOLY SPIRIT for our benefit (John 14:15-18, 16:5-15).

6. Some do not believe in the Divinity of The HOLY SPIRIT of GOD! Some believe that speaking in tongues, the Gifts and Fruit of The HOLY SPIRIT are from the devil (Mark 3:28-30).

7. The Rapture: there are some who discount the Rapture and CHRIST’s Millennial Reign, I knew a pastor who said he did not believe it because it was not in The First Covenant (Old Testament), every time the Bible talks about The Anointed one Ruling the nations with a Rod of Iron, it is talking about CHRIST’s Millennial Reign (Psalm 2, 110; Isaiah 10:5-24, 11:1-4; Daniel 7:13-14; Revelation 2:27, 12:5, 19:15). Some Churches believe that the Rapture is at the beginning of the Great Tribulation, some believe it is in the middle, and some believe it is at the end (The seventh Trumpet, 1 Corinthians 15:50-55; Revelation 11:15-19, 14:14-20).

In each of the seven letters JESUS makes three statements: “I know your works!” 1 Corinthians 3:8-15 our works will be judged!; “He who has ears to hear, let him hear what The SPIRIT says to the Churches.” Mark 4:21-25 “Steward the spoken and written Word of GOD.” Robert Morris; What we see and what we hear effects our life! “To him who overcomes I Will…” overcoming is a requirement for reward Revelation 12:11.

2:4-5 Hold to your first Love of JESUS! Many Christians start to be distracted by life and ministry and our attention to The Love of GOD starts to fade. Worship, Prayer and Fasting help us maintain our Love relationship with our Father GOD and His Son JESUS!

2:26-28 “He who overcomes and guards My Works until The End, to him I Will give Authority over the nations! ‘He shall Shepherd them with a rod of Iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like the potters vessels’; as I also have received from My Father and I will give him the Morning Star.” Verse 26 is to the believers (Revelation 20:4-6). Verse 27 is a quote of Psalm 2:8-9 about The LORD JESUS. Verse 28 is about the believers, 2 Peter 1:19; Revelation 22:16, JESUS is the Bright and Morning Star. (In Isaiah 14:12 Lucifer is called the bright one and “son of the morning” but he is not the Morning Star!)

3:5 “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments and I Will Not Blot Out his name from Book of Life; but I Will Confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” (Mark 3:28-30, 8:34-38; Revelation 3:11) You can lose your Salvation!

1 Timothy 4:12-16

1 Timothy 4:12-16

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the Believers in Word,  in Conduct, in Love, in Spirit, in Faith, in Purity. Till I come, give attention to Reading, to Exhortation, to Doctrine (teaching). Do not neglect The Gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the Doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you!”

Paul is giving Timothy personal instruction as his disciple on how to be a Christian! These truths apply to everyone who is a Believer in JESUS, because we are all JESUS’ disciples! (Mark 8:34-38; John 8:28-32)

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example…” I do not know how old Timothy was at the time of this letter, but he was a youth when he first started being a disciple of Paul. (Acts 16:1-3; 2 Timothy 1:5-7, 13-14: 3:15) While age is not a qualifier for ministry, maturity is, Timothy’s maturity came form his youth under his mother and grandmother, then his time with Paul on his travels.

“…but be an example to the believers in Word, in Conduct, in Love, In Spirit, in Faith, in Purity.” All of these he would have learned as a disciple of Paul. (Philippians 2:12-14, 3:1-11) Paul was always living according to his teachings, a couple of times Paul and his team spent more than a year teaching the believers in a community. (Acts 19:1-10, 20:31) The Word, John 8:31-32, 14:23-24; in Conduct, John 5:1-14, 8:1-12; in Love, Matthew 5:43-46, 22:36-40, John 13:34; in Spirit, John 4:19-26; in Faith, Mark 9:14-29, Luke 17:5-10, 18:8; in Purity, Matthew 6:22-23, Luke 11:33-36.

“Till I come, give attention to Reading, to Exhortation, to Doctrine (teaching)…”  Paul is reminding Timothy to keep learning, growing in Faith and doing the work of the Kingdom of GOD. Reading, Matthew 6:33, 1 Timothy 4:1-5; Exhortation, Mark 16:15-16, 1 Timothy 4:6-11; Doctrine, 2 Timothy 3:14-17, 4:1-5.

“Do not neglect The Gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.” (John 21:15-19 JESUS Restores Peter and He will Restore us, James 5:19-2014-17, 1 John 2:1-2.)

“Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them that your progress may be evident to all.” (Philippians 4:8-9) This is the work of warfare, 2 Corinthians 10:3-6, 2 Timothy 2:14-19.

“Take heed to yourself and to the Doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you!” (1 Timothy 6:11-16, 20-21) This is the command of JESUS to His Followers,  John 15:1-17. If we do not maintain our personal walk with JESUS we will lead others astray, 2 Corinthians 3:1-6, Philippians 3:12-4:2.

Hosea 5

Hosea 5

:1-3 “Hear this O priests! Take heed O house of Israel!

Give ear O house of the king! For to you is The Judgment, because you have been a snare to Mizpah and a net spread on Tabor. The revolters* are deeply involved in slaughter*, though I rebuke them all. I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me; for now O Ephraim, you commit harlotry; Israel is defiled.” The revolters is an interesting term, in our western culture we think of those who revolt against an oppressive government or authoritarian parents, etc., but GOD is talking about those who revolt against Himself, those who refuse to obey His commands. (Isaiah 29:13-15; Amos 5:10-15)

:4-5 “They do not direct their deeds to toward turning to their GOD (Their deeds will not allow them to turn – they are so sinful they cannot even think about repenting), for the spirit of harlotry* (whoredoms – not sexual but idolatry with demons) is in their midst, and they do not know JEHOVAH. The pride of Israel testifies to his face; therefore Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; Judah also stumbles with them.” (Romans 1:16-32 – there comes a point when GOD knows there is no repentance in their heart)

:6-7 “With their flocks and herds they go to seek JEHOVAH, but they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them! They have dealt treacherously with JEHOVAH, for they have begotten pagan (Lit. strange) children. Now a New Moon** shall devour them and their heritage.” (Proverbs 1:20-33; Jeremiah 3:19-20 – religious activity is worthless)

JEHOVAH considered Israel as His spouse and the Children of Israel as His Children!

:8-9 “Blow the ram’s horn in Gibeah! The trumpet in Ramah! Cry aloud at Beth Aven***: ‘Look behind you, Benjamin!’ Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke; among the tribes of Israel I make known what is sure (KJV “…that which shall surely be...”.) (Joel 2:1-2 – GOD’s warning to prepare for His Judgement, there will be no stay of execution.

:10-12 “The princes of Judah are like those who remove a landmark: (Deuteronomy 19:14;  Proverbs 23:10-11) I will pour out My Wrath on them like water. Ephraim is oppressed and broken in Judgement, because he willingly walked by human precept. (Deuteronomy 28:32-33) Therefore I will be to Ephraim like a moth;**** and to the House of Judah like rottenness.” In other words, JEHOVAH will pull away from Ephraim and Judah, leaving them to their own desires. (Proverbs 1:20-33; Romans 1:18-32)

:13 “When Ephraim saw his sickness and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria and sent to King Jareb; yet he cannot cure you nor heal you of your wound.” (Jeremiah 30:12-13) The Church often sends to the earthly institutions of teaching and healing; but being they are institutions based in sin they cannot help or cure that which is spiritual.

:14-15 “For I will be like a lion to the house of Judah. (Lamentations 3:10-12) I, even I, will tear them and go away; I will take them away and no one shall rescue. I will return again to My Place till they acknowledge their offense (Lit. become guilty or bear punishment). (Isaiah 38:10-14) Then they will seek My face; in their affliction they will earnestly seek Me!” (2 Chronicles 7:13-14) There is no salvation, healing or deliverance without repentance. It is not just asking for GOD’s Forgiveness (like the Israelites often did) but actually changing from a sinful lifestyle to a righteous lifestyle.

Being CHRIST Like!

Being CHRIST Like!

In the Church we talk about being CHRIST like, what does that look like?

We are made in the image and likeness of JEHOVAH GOD (Genesis 1:27), what does that look like? (Ephesians 4:17-32)

To be CHRIST like means to be like CHRIST or to live like CHRIST lived in the flesh. Which was “to only say what He heard The Father say and only do what He saw The Father doing!” (John 5:19, 30; 8:28-29) Thereby He fulfilled GOD’s Purpose and Will for His Life in the flesh (John 19:30), “It is finished!”

For us (humans) that is not easy, that is why JESUS says that if we overcome and endure to the end we will be Blessed and Rewarded (Matthew 10:22; 24:13; Revelation 2 and 3).

JESUS told us:  “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the Gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My Words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him The Son of Man will be ashamed when He Comes in The Glory of His Father with the holy angels.’” Mark 8:34-38. This is based Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 15, 58-59. It is not about us – it is about JESUS!

1Kings 8:61 “Let your heart be Loyal (Lit. at peace with) to JEHOVAH our GOD, to walk in His Statutes and keep His Commandments, as at this day!”

JESUS said, “If My Word abides in you, then you will know The Truth and The Truth will set you Free.” John 8:31-32 (John 1:14, 17; 14:6)

So if you want to be CHRIST like you have to lay down your life for JESUS, take up your cross (the call of GOD for your life) and follow Him every day. Where was JESUS going with His cross? To Golgotha, the place where He yielded His Life to The Father’s Will and Purpose! The question we have to ask ourself is, “Am I heading to Golgotha, have I laid down everything to fulfill The Will of GOD for my life?” (Philippians 2:12-14; 3:1-17)
