Am I Holy?

 

Am I Holy? Am I set apart to GOD? Am I set apart for GOD? To be Holy I must wholly give myself to GOD! JESUS prayed, “Set them apart for holiness by means of The Truth – Your Word is Truth. Just as You sent Me into the world, I have sent them into the world. On their behalf I am setting Myself apart for holiness, so that they too may be set apart for holiness by means of the Truth.” John 17:17-19 study John 17.

 

JESUS said He was setting Himself apart for holiness, and He prayed that we also would be set apart for holiness by The Truth: GOD is Truth (not human truth that can change - all that is True comes from GOD). JESUS said “Your Word is Truth” and JESUS is The Living Word – He is The Living Truth. To be set apart to GOD in holiness we must be wholly given (surrendered) to GOD.

 

So the answer to my question is no. No I am not holy because I am not wholly for GOD. I am distracted by many things in life, some are necessary and some are not, but even the necessary ones can distract me from GOD’s Will if I let them become a burden.

 

We only know of one thing that was a burden for JESUS – sin; not His for He had no sin, but ours. He was sorrowful over Jerusalem that it rejected The Truth, He was frustrated with the religious leaders who could not hear or see The Truth in their presence; and He understood the personal agony He was to suffer to take away the sin of the world. Yet He willingly, faithfully obeyed.

 

JESUS told us to “seek first The Kingdom of GOD and His Righteousness” and everything that we need would be supplied, and not to worry about tomorrow – just take care of today by casting our cares on Him.

 

That is not what I do! Do you?

 

Am I wholly surrendered to GOD like JESUS? HE only said what His Father told Him and He only did what His Father showed Him. He did nothing on His own – He is The Son of Man and The Son of GOD, and He gave us (through belief in Him) the ability to be The Children of GOD.
