Word for 6/17/2021

John 8:31-32, 36; 13:13-17, 34-35

 

“Then JESUS said to the Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know The Truth and The Truth shall make you free. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. You call Me Teacher and LORD and you say well, for so I Am. If I them your LORD and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, Blessed are you if you do them. A new Commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have Loved you, that you also Love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have Love for one another.

 

This is the circle of faith and works. We must believe in JESUS and abide in His Word, keeping His Commandments and showing His love to one another. Then we are truly free from the world, sin and death and the world will know that we are JESUS’ disciples.

 

This is The Gospel, we cannot effectively tell people The Good News of JESUS CHRIST if they do not see us as His disciples – not those who just proclaim faith in Him, but those who live as He Commands us.
