Word For 7/29/2022

 

“For by Grace are you saved through Faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GOD.” Ephesians 2:8

“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” Philippians 2:3

 

Salvation is a gift from GOD that we receive by the Faith that He gives us. Our heart attitude and obedience are the evidence that we truly are saved. This is what Paul was referring to when he told the Philippians to “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling…” Salvation is not a once and done package deal. Being saved is a lifelong process of growing in faith and obedience to the Will of GOD. When The Bible tells us to seek GOD while He may be found (Isaiah 55), it’s not because GOD is going somewhere, it’s because our heart becomes hard and our soul lazy and we lose our relationship (the joy and peace) that came when we were first saved.
